It had a few very minor scratches that were documented. I inspected the car first thing and it looked good and I asked to take it out for a drive and we began some paperwork to make it happen. The salesperson pulled the SUV into a receiving area for my test drive. While getting in, I noticed multiple vertical deep scratches on the driver's side door I hadn't noticed when I did my preliminary walkaround inspection just 20 minutes earlier. They were actually more serious than any of the minor documented scratches disclosed when the vehicle was shipped so I didn't understand how they could have been missed. I mentioned it to the sales rep upon return and was promptly dismissed. He didn't seem concerned at all and urgently ran off to return the car to the secure lot. Maybe they became more noticeable from the different lighting and direct sunlight. He mentioned later that he had trouble putting the lockbox back on the window because it kept rolling back down while he was trying to resecure it in the full up position. The plastic wind guard trim didn't help, Im sure. Apparently the car was detecting the lockbox as an obstruction as if there was a finger in the way triggering it to fully retract as a safety feature automatically, taking the lockbox down with it. I didn't think much about his comment at first, but put it all together after the fact. When the window was rolled down, the heavy lockbox Carmax struggled to hang on the window glass scratched the door...multiple times as they were fussing with it. The scratches are vertically aligned and exactly below where the lockbox was. Most scratches are horizontal, so these were odd looking. They weren't disclosed in the car listing because the car was most likely damaged in the care of Carmax after I paid to have it shipped. Since I am already into the car for shipping costs, no matter what I do, even if I return it, I'm out at least the $800 I sunk in shipping. So even walking away would be really expensive. The 2023 SUV only had 5K miles on it. Now I own it, and it looks like hell. I'm actually ill over this for not being more assertive. They ruined a really great SUV and stuck me with their sloppy damage and negligence. It looks like it was aggressively keyed. What I ordered and shipped, wasn't what I got. Now I get to drive it around, potentially for years, looking like someone who gets their car keyed. BUYER BEWARE. Don't give Carmax ANY money in advance. Don't have a car shipped. Just wait for the right one to pop up locally. Before you drive away, do a final inspection and match up any damage with what was originally disclosed.

I offered a solid, fair offer to the salesman that was assisting me and he said that they could not accept it. The car offer that I proposed was based on the information that was listed online from various car valuation websites like Edmunds and KBB. The salesman said that I could try to speak with the owner or management about the van price point. After entering the empty showroom, the salesman walked to an office room and a few minutes later, a hefty man named Dan approached me. He began to ask me a series of questions like, "Who's the vehicle for? Do you like the vehicle?" I said the vehicle was fine. However, when I started to discuss my offer and mention the dollar amount, he said, "Thank you. Have a nice day" with a condescending smile. He walked away immediately towards his office. I calmly asked to look at the information that I had gathered to justify my offer to him. That's where he started to be extremely disrespectful and rude towards me. He began to angrily yell at me saying that he didn't care what information I had or what any car valuation services listed for the van. I was so shocked that he was yelling since I was being respectfully towards him, speaking calmly, and acting in a professional manner. I was shocked about his attitude and tone of voice since there were children in the showroom. He said told me to get the "f@#% off his property now or I'll call the police." I proceed to walk about the showroom feeling belittled and offended. In my opinion, this used car dealership is absolutely one of the worst in Portland/Vancouver area. Avoid this used car lot because the chances of getting ripped off is extremely high. If you choose to buy a vehicle here, make sure to review as many as car websites and vehicle valuation websites as possible to truly determine the correct value of the vehicle. If you don't, you'll most likely way over pay for the car in addition to the terrible care and service that they'll provide you. If "Dan" doesn't like your offer, be prepared for his condescending smile and the phrase,"Thank you. Have a nice day." Buyer beware, Caveat emptor.

We had to deal with minor mechanical issues (it's a 12 year old car after all, maintenance history does not mean it's brand new). Elysium was honest and fair about that. When the title was found not to have been delivered by the former owner, Vlad pumped the brakes on getting paid by my banker until he was confident that the title would be in hand in very short order. Throughout these challenges he was completely transparent about what the issue was, what he was doing to resolve it, and what to expect next. A real gem of a car dealer, this one. There was 7 days in between the first repair and the 2nd! It never worked right after the first repair! They said the radiator was "rusted out" So how could it get rusted out in 7 days.
