I will say their pricing was still competitive compared to other places when I booked it again in 2025, but my car arrived 3-4 days later than quoted and the subcontracted company or Coastal did not keep me updated. I had airtagged my car so I could see that it was still moving, but would have appreciated some more communication. In addition, when I talked to Henry when booking this transport, he called me once and was very quick and dismissive vs Shawn was extremely kind and very happy to talk to me back and forth over what would be ideal. Their quoted pricing in their online website and email is not also not accurate now. I believe when I booked in 2023 the pricing that I was quoted online vs what I paid was accurate, but when I talked to Henry on the phone in 2025, he explained that it would be $200-300 more expensive than what was emailed because of demand, gas, etc which I think is fair...but honestly that feels like a bit of a bait and switch lol. Nevertheless I booked with Coastal again because I had such a great experience with them previously and while my car did get there, I wouldn't use them again. I worked out all the logistics of where I would get my car washed, what time I would get to Pier C, and arrange for a ride home. I chose Lyft. Time at the port took about 30 mins. It wasn't busy. I drove up, on entry, they have you pause in this area that has dozens of cameras facing the car. Only takes a few second, the proceed to park, check in inside the bungalow, then wait for someone to do the inspection. I was given my receipts and was told I could track shipment on their website. Upon drop off, I step out to the side walk and called my Lyft. I checked the link daily to see when it was loaded onto the vessel, when it was at sea, and when it arrived in Honolulu. Dropped it off on 10/10/22 and picked up on 10/20/22, just 10 days. I checked in at the pier office and waited about 8 mins before I was called. ( understandable) . Delivery & pick up was down the road because the carrier was too big to navigate in the housing area we live in that have smaller streets. The drop off was .5 miles from the house. The pick up was a lil bit further from the house in a shopping area size parking lot. On the day of the pickup, the driver texted me to let me know exactly when he would be there (the other company messed that up too). We talked about the best place to do the pickup and he went to the place that I suggested (the other company insisted on an illegal and dangerous location even though I told them there was a safer and legal spot just around the corner). I asked the Patriot driver to give me his best estimate on the drop off date because I needed to book a flight. He told me he would text me after picking up the other the cars. And he did!!! He arrived on the date he said he would. He texted me about where he thought he could do the drop off and I was able to suggest a better location within walking distance of my house. With the Covid19 limitations on everybody causing delays, it was important that we get things done. Randy with LAP Auto Transport and others within his team got things done in a professional manner. This is the second auto they've transported for my AU partner and I. Earlier this month they moved a 1916 Cadillac from California's Central Valley to the docks in Long Beach, CA. What I like about this is that the LAP's fleet handles everything with what I'm calling "Owner's Care", meaning it's just as if the handling, loading, inspections, etc. are done as if the car owner was personally doing it.
