I would give a 10 but 5 is the most I can give. I have been taking my vehicles here for 20 years and have always had fast, excellent and competent service. Uyen knows exactly what needs to be done. I have seen customers get angry because they failed the test, that is on them not on the person performing the test. She does take debit, credit and cash. I recommend Auto Smog without reservation. Was at the dmv for hours to find out I needed a smog check so I ran over here to get it done. It's super convenient and close in case anyone needs a smog check for the dmv! The owner Uyen was super nice and very friendly!! She was extremely sympathetic of me being at the dmv for so long and she made sure I was in and out super fast! Okay, I usually take my car to another Smog Check station (with excellent customer service), but they were pretty backed up today. So, I took my car to this other place only a mile from where I live. Upon arrival, there were no other customers or vehicles in sight. Encouraged, I walked through a tiny, plain closet of what I presumed was the waiting area (gross!). Just grimy, with only two folding metal chairs ~ very unwelcoming. I spotted a woman seated at the back of the shop who then stood up and approached me. I had the feeling that I had interrupted something really important, by the annoyed look on her face. Without any friendly greeting whatsoever, she tersely requested me to pull my vehicle into the garage. At this point, I thought about saying, "Ya know, I think I'll go somewhere more friendly". But it was hot and I just wanted to get my truck smogged and be on my way. I could give a blow-by-blow accounting of each step that she was rude, but I don't want to write a novel here. Let me just say that at no time during this visit was she in the least bit friendly. My vehicle did not pass smog, but I don't blame that on her. I don't know enough about mechanics to point a finger. So, I asked her to please explain to my husband (he speaks the language) what she had told me about why it didn't pass. I called him and she spoke with him. Right in front of my, she just acted annoyed at his questions. I see by other reviews here that I am not the only person who received poor customer service here. I seriously do not know how this place stays in business. I will happily pay extra and become a loyal customer if I am made to feel welcome and valued. Here, I felt the exact opposite. I would recommend you take your car elsewhere for a smog check. I just left feeling insulted. read more

Two cars, both failed here. Problem not with the cars but with the very inexperienced technician. First time she failed the car stating it had been tampered with and things were missing. WRONG!!! What she was looking isn't in my year and make auto. Inexperience!!!! Went elsewhere immediately and passed. But at my expense. Stupid me to send a friend there to get my other car smogged. The car had been sitting and the battery had been dead. Although the battery is fine now, the lack of computer data caused the machine to fail the car. If the technician was experienced and a nice person she would have first asked some questions and then send my friend on a 10 minute drive and returned to test. Instead it cost me $55 plus the cost of taking it elsewhere. When I called and asked if it could be retested for no charge, the nasty female technician started yelling at me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS TO THIS SMOG SHOP!!!!!!!!!! read more

Have you ever been to a business and experienced the feeling that they really don't want you there (even though you might be the only customer)? That's what happened with me at Auto Smog. The two workers that I came into contact with did greet me, did not smile, did not thank me for my business, and did not say goodbye. The only way I knew the transaction was over is because the worker got into another car that had come up. Last thing that needs to be mentioned, the waiting area is a completely filthy 4x6 area with two fold up chairs, that I was not about to sit on. I won't be going back, and I don't recommend this business at all. read more

Really bad place. From our initial greetings I knew this experience would not be good... My gut was telling me to leave now but the shop was empty, plus I was pressed for time. My vehicle failed smog inspection. I will not bore you with the details because it would take too long. Took it somewhere else five minutes later it passed. Which means I paid for the same thing twice. In retrospect there was a reason the place was empty... My advice to you is Trust Your Gut turn around get back into your car don't waste your time and money. read more

Only take cash ( its 2012 people ) and ran my smog check even though they knew I was going to fail ( I had a check engine light on that I didn't know was gonna be a problem) when they should have just sent me to a repair shop right away to diagnose it. read more
