Historically, I had good results with this place. Today, however they did a bad job, and worse still, when I ask the manager behind the register (who took my $47 + my $10 tip) to fix the places that were still dirty, like the ENTIRE dashboard, the steering wheel, and other obvious places, he became defensive and said that "he washes 50 cars a day and doesn't get any complaints". Absolutely the worst! As you look at the pictures of the inside of the place, you'll see you don't see any signage with the pricing. There's a reason for that. I pulled in here for a hand wash on my car that was dirtier than I'd prefer. The guys waived me where to stop and I got out. I asked for a wash, inside and out.. that's it. They said okay and started to work. I see a little room off to the right where I assumed I would pay. I walked in and found someone standing behind the cash register. I told him I was getting a wash inside and out. He said 'ok; $48'. WHAT?? He then pointed to a small sign, 8 1/2 x 11, that had their pricing list. It was clearly typed out there, but no place else. I pay $30 at Elston Hand Car Wash and they do a phenomenal job. He offered to knock it down to $40 and I said fine. Once they were done, I looked at my car and the job they did was poor. I saw street marks where they dried with an obviously dirty towel, water dripping down from the mirrors, and they didn't clean and dry inside of the door jams. These are common areas that hand car wash places take care of, particularly at $50. I pointed at the deficient areas and the guys, begrudgingly, addressed each issue. Very impressed, I have a jeep Cherokee and did an interior and exterior, it was $45 without tip. Car looks great, the inside desperately needed it. They washed rubber mats and vacuumed the entire interior and wiped everything down. Will definitely be recommending and returning. It took 30min. After purchasing the year membership, the quality of the wash changed. They don't remove the back interior mats, they leave towel partial stuck to my bumper, they inside is still dusty, front windowshield has smudges on it, back windows and doors looked untouched, always forget to shine my tires and I paid extra for that, poorly dry the car off even after pointing out spots where water is noticeably dripping. they use rough towel that scratch my matte wrap! I wish I could say this was a one time thing, but the is the norm now whenever I get my vehicle cleaned here. it's not worth the cost of yearly membership - first because I don't use it enough and second because the quality of the wash has drastically decreased. read more

On my second visit it wasn't so busy, again I asked for an exterior hand wash. Compared to most hand car wash done at other places this guys pay more attention to detail. There was about 2 inches of rain in the mat liners and the water had started leaking into the floorboards. They did an excellent job of not only suctioning out all the water and cleaning out the offending debris from the sunroof, but cleaned every nook and cranny of the interior and exterior. Hmmm. My husband likes going to this place but I am not sure how I like it. Asked on the services alone, Auto Spa Chicago does an excellent job. The automobile was spotless inside and out. However since I drive the SUV, there is obviously an up charge and I was expecting that. However, the starting cleaning service was expensive! I did have some sticker shock, leaving there paying nearly $60, including the tip (when normally I would pay not more than half at other places). Don't bother going to this place. This is my 3rd time there, and each time the windshield and dash were still dirty and dusty, as though no one bothered to wipe and clean it. Don't go here. I've been a loyal customer for years, but they recently have decided that they don't need business. I took my car here one week after pricking it up from a Lexus Certified body shop. I asked if they had time to shampoo the back carpets, and they said no. The car hadn't been washed since picking it up from the body shop and the body shop told me to hand wash it. Auto Spa was the first to touch it exactly 7 days later. After washing it, they told me that it was ready and as I was putting my bag in my car, I noticed tiny scratches in the pair from a towel or scrubbing. I called the manager over and he tried to blame me, saying that the scratches were there there before and "in the paint." There were no scratches there before. He accused me of using a "cheap car wash." Nobody has touched this car except them since picking it up from the body shop. They don't need to business anymore, and as he pointed out, they work on Maseratis, Ferraris, etc. you'd think they could get this right. They need to use clean towels and sponges, and not use the same ones on the wheels as they do to dry or wash the car. The grit causes scratches, and they should know that if they weren't too pompous to admit they screwed up. read more
