My experience with Autobahn and Phil started after a body shop in Anaheim had spent two half years trying to fix my car after an accident but instead trashed my 1971Corvette. The repair job was so bad Hagerty had to have Phil at Autobahn start the project all over again. Phil stripped the car of the recently done paint job. He did an awesome job stripping the car and preparing the car for paint. They painted the car and put all back together. Phil and Autobahn did an outstanding job painting my car and restoring it. I went in for a quote for some minor paint issues from a previous paint job. Phil was the person who looked at the car. To start, he seems very uninterested and everything I asked, he stated it will be very expensive. I appreciate the honesty, but wow, what a way to deter a customer. I was referred to Phil by my dear friend who takes his car to Braubus and it was one of the best referrals. Called the office and front staff was accommodating and gave me options that day to come in to have an estimate done by Phil. Upon arrival, I waited maybe 5 minutes and Phil was able to look at the car and said he would be able to provide an estimate by end of day. He came highly recommended so I felt comfortable leaving my car on site. Before end of the day I got the estimate and he said he could have the car back to within a week. I am so impressed with this shop and Phil the owner. I had someone back into my 61 Corvette and was referred to Autobahn for their fiberglass skills. The recommendation was spot on as while only my passenger side fender was damaged Phil and his team not only did a perfect job of repairing the damage and blending paint they also shot a coat of clear over the entire front clip of the car! Job: Rear bumper, BMW 535i Pros: Paint is clean, matches well. The bumper damage was not so severe, but as representing attorney, they fought insurance at fault to get me a brand new bumper. Although I have not visually inspected myself, (I will soon when I have the time), I think the damages underneath the bumper was properly fixed. Rear sensor seem to work fine. Cons: 1) When I first came in, they would not give me a straight answer in dollars for an estimate. I politely asked several times. Mr. Sanchez was not openly friendly and explicit to the type of work that would needed to be done. 2) Their detailing job is mediocre. I do a better job myself. I believe I brought the vehicle in cleaner than it had left. There was polish that had not been completely brushed off the rear bumper. 3) You can see marks in the rear side panel from removing the damaged rear bumper. 4) Their communication is lacking. I had called several times to follow up on the status of my vehicle. They had my vehicle in possession for over 1 week. 5) When I had just received my vehicle, I inspected the trunk and noticed screws missing from the internal side covers. There was a lot of gunk (smelled like glue) in the screw holes, as if they were trying to hide the missing screws. Mr. Sanchez insured me that it was my hand sanitizer that made a mess. I highly doubt that and believe he lied directly in front of me. 6) He had insured me the missing screws would be replaced. He took my car, drove it to the back of the shop and replaced it. He tried to carry on as if everything was okay and resolved. I reinspected the new screws and noticed they were completely different from the original manufacture screws. I told him and had described what they look like. He said he would order the OEM screws and call me. I had come back a few days later to find the screws he gathered were the wrong size. He told me again he would order new screws.... It has been over 2 weeks and I have not heard from him. 7) A few days after I had received my vehicle, I noticed an expensive bottle of cologne missing from my glove compartment. I know they were in my glove compartment because they left an empty bottle of touch up paint there. I had left my cologne in the glove compartment everyday for the past 2 years. It has been two weeks since I noticed it missing and has not been found. I have looked everywhere and gave them the benefit of the doubt that it might show up. At this point I am certain they have stolen it. Who knows what kind of minimum wage sweat shop labor they have in the back. Conclusion: I'm not out to get people, honestly trying to give people especially small family companies the benefit of the doubt. Being truthful, I was left believing; 1) They conduct business as if the only thing they are interested in is your money. They walked away with $2700 for a fairly simple & common rear bumper job. 2) They have little to no regards to detail such as missing screws. 3) They didn't care much to recovering items they have misplaced such as missing screws. 4) I honestly believe I was a victim of theft. To me, this is unacceptable and completely unethical. I see this place as having very little integrity. I can't recommend this place at all. I wish I did more research and asked more people. read more

Took my Porsche into Autobahn to repaint a few areas to fix what another auto body shop messed up. They did a perfect repaint and finished on the date they stated. I originally spoke with Phil the owner a great guy. After picking up my Porsche I got a quote to repainted our Audi Q7's rear bumper where we got some scratches at a valet parking at a LA Airport hotel. Just picked it up today and once again a perfect job marching our paint perfectly. I hope not to need to have any future repairs but if I do I'll go directly to Autobahn again. I have used Autobahn over the years whenever I've had any accident damage to my cars. Recently I took my vehicle in for work on both sides, however due to confusion over an old quotation in the system, they ended up repairing something that didn't really need fixing. My wife picked up the car, so she didn't know that what was supposed to have been fixed wasn't, and she drove the car away. When I returned home several weeks later I saw that the dents still hadn't been fixed. i went back to the store and pointed this out to Phil Sanchez, the owner. Once he looked into the problem and saw how they'd pulled an old quote, he did the right thing and fixed the dents without any further delay or charges. From time to time everyone is going to make a mistake. What matters is how you deal with it. They did the right thing. You can't ask for more than that. Tried calling multiple times and now they won't return my calls. Body work is to expensive to take it somewhere where they don't take pride in their work. Your remedy when they do a bod job is court. Autobahn Autobody turned back the clock and made them look brand new, somehow with reconditioning and not replacement. Their price was fair. Phil, the owner, seems like an honest craftsman. I was rear ended in my 1989 Corvette and I chose this body shop over some others (including McJacks Corvette) based on reviews and their work on exotic and classic cars. I checked my car during the process of repair and found it out in the parking lot with the back facia off for repairs and repainting. I noticed small scrapes on the edge of the body where the back facia was taken off and Phil reassured me it would be "buffed out". It was later. When I received the car I noticed the rear view camera was scraped up and Phil said that would be polished out. The rearview camera was not working due to a wire being disconnected and they reconnected it when I left it for awhile longer. Also, when I got home and checked out the repaired/repainted area more thoroughly, I noticed a lot of high and low areas that had not been "feathered" properly. I returned the car and Phil said that there was a lot of "product" on the bumper from a previous repair and it needed further preparation and repainting on the bottom half. So back in the shop for a week. The bumper facia had been repaired previously (about 4 years before) and they (Miracle Collision) had done a great job, but they are no longer in business. They did polish the rearview camera, but some superficial damage remained. So after two sessions of repair here, my car finally appears to be done right. I prefer my cars be repaired right the first time. I guess the "B team" was assigned to repair my car. The staff are nice and helpful. read more

My classic car had some fender and electrical damage after being involved in a small fire. Following the suggestion from the insurance company I had Autobahn fix it. After two months they competed the repairs. The fender/paint looked good. The work to put it back together was substandard at best. I did not notice it at first but when I got home I noted the battery box was put in wrong, the seat was not installed in the correct position, the steering column was rubbing the exhaust manifold, the leather interior was dirty with hand prints, the shift boot was not attached to the floor, etc. I cannot recommend this place. read more

Once I saw the classic and luxury cars they fix I knew my Honda was going to be a piece of cake for them. Phil is the best and is very helpful and welcoming . Once a nail punctured so far into my tire that it made a groove in my rim so a new tire at the tire shop could not create a seal. So I had to find a place that would fix my rim instead of spending a thousand dollars to get a new one . I though my of Autobahn and they fixed it quick for a very low price and I was set. So, now that I live in Palm Springs CA which is no easy hike to get to Autobahn, I still take any and all to them even if it means booking a hotel until they are through "Working Their MAGIC"!!!.
