Andy's response shows exactly the kind of ethics Autocars has. Essentially, if only I'd have had a problem with the power train or engine... then they could've helped me. But since it wasn't covered under the warranty they offer, there was no reason for them to mention the failing Catalytic Converter, or the fact they HAD to have known the Check Engine light was on and simply reset it without fixing the issue or at least notifying of its existence. They claimed to have inspected the vehicles and that they only sell good vehicles; yet mine came with a failing Cat Converter, two broken engine mounts, and a nasty bulge in a tire that could've been a danger had I not noticed it the next day (I bought the car at night and couldn't see it then). But all that's ok... because they didn't cover it anyway, so why fix it or bother to mention it? Yep... awesome business. read more

I bought a used car here about two weeks ago am so happy with my purchase and very pleased with how well the process went. Tony - the person who assisted me asked if I wanted to test drive the car I was interested in before I even asked and didn't seem pushy at all as another reviewer mentioned about the staff. At one point I had to go back home to get my stuff to purchase it, when I came back Tony told me they cleaned the front headlight cover (I had previously made a remark about how it looked really foggy and unclear), wow! I was so surprised they actually took the time to do that.. today that headlight looks so much better. I really appreciated the gesture! Service was okay, I test drove a car and was great except after I got out it smelled terrible like burning plastic. Three different employees said it could be this or that and assured me it was fine and figured if it is like this still when I return I wouldn't purchase. I gave all my info and would have my credit ran. Told me it'd take a few days. They called once for proof of address to be faxed over and I did but after that NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. No call to inform me that it wasn't possible or what the issue was so I'm upset they wasted my time. I went elsewhere to a larger dealer in Hollywood and found a newer model with less miles and for less than I would've paid here. So upset I got my time wasted, but thank these guys for having me sent to a better dealer. read more

Andy at AutoCars LTD was awesome. I live in North Dakota and found a very nice 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser online for sale by AutoCarsLTD. I wanted to purchase a vehicle from an environment that would provide a relative rust free vehicle (hard to find in ND or MN). When speaking to Andy, he stated the vehicle was very nice and it appeared so in the pictures. I hired an independent third party for a vehicle inspection, and it was in excellent shape as represented by AutoCarsLTD. I hired a transport company to deliver the car to me. Andy stated that I need to feel comfortable with the transport company, as there are many transport companies that do not deliver on their original contract. My mother in law and step son came to apply. They did not qualify. My motheR in law was sketchy because they were prying too much in her business. We returned my husband and I to obtain the original paperwork and the guy here was rude threatening and refused to return anything, unless it was the ones who applied. We brought my mother in law back and he still refused threatening us again and he threw us out of his office. He was angry because we would not leave my elserly mother in law alone with him to talk knowing he upset her and made her sick. So we called the police. Poor sales person I believe his name is Frank dishonest arrogant think he's better than younger people. So i sent my wife to purchase a bmw from them picked it up late night, up on leaving the service engine light came on as it was late we called and brought it back in next day they changed a gas cap forcibly cleared code drove a few miles light came back on and oil was low. I had to do oil change myself. I purchased new wheels for it when dismounting stocks 3 wheels had missing lug nuts??? And also the key in the fob remote is not the actual key to open doors manually.. so we brought back the car in today according to them it had a gas leak in a hose. As for the missing lug nuts they were aware of it and didn't care to sale the car like that his response was that if I wanted a car with no problems go to a big dealer "Frank" seriously this guy is a piece of shit for that. The dude couldn't even look at me in the eyes when I was questioning him telling me to not use certain words as if I was a kid? He tried scaring me with threats that he was going to call the police that he could get me in trouble? To sum it up avoid going here especially dealing with that scum of a human. DO NOT purchase anything from Auto Cars LTD. The manager Andy is a blatant liar and makes excuse after excuse in order to avoid responsibility once you've purchased a vehicle. He does not like to return emails or phone calls and WILL NOT follow through on any promises he makes. He pretends to help and care about the customer but please do not fall for this. Do not allow yourself or your friends and family get ripped off and taken advantage of by these guys. UPDATE (3/25/18) to reply to Andy's comment: This is a great example of Andy taking facts out of context... this was one of the only times he returned my call after not returning 10+ calls and 20+ emails over the course of a couple months. The warranty that came with the vehicle was very limited and although claims were made, the major problem components were not covered they did not fix the drive-ability issues with the vehicle. Andy was made aware of issues on a daily/weekly basis immediately after the sale. Andy promised cash to partially compensate (nowhere near enough to cover a fraction of the needed repairs but it was SOMETHING) OR a 3rd party warranty. Since the warranty option did not work out, he now refuses to pay me the cash. I have been MORE than patient with him through the process but his denial at this point is unreal and he truly deserves the one star rating until he does the right thing. read more

The MAIN reason I came back is the Customer Service I received back then was Excellent!! I must have worn out Andy, (Mgr./Sales Person) that day,('01),cause He must have gone into that office a million times to get a different set of keys to the cars I wanted to hear and drive. Let me start off saying this used auto dealership experience was one of the most surreal experiences I have ever had. First of all, the owner Andy was very hospitable and accommodating over the phone. Furthermore, his sales rep, Manual, was very cordial and business-like. What we found truly surreal was the negotiating and bargaining process. Notwithstanding the 'true market value' of the car based upon comparative market analysis in SOCAL, the negotiated price was portrayed as a "total walk-out-the-door" figure. In other words, car price plus taxes and fees all rolled-up with the customer having to SIGN YOUR NAME before Manual would go into the back office and have Andy approve/disapprove/negotiate the offer. This was the most bizarre tangible property experience I/we have ever had! Secondly, while the dealership did provide a CARFAX report, they were not willing to show me the dealer/auction inspection report (which is required by CA law if the customer requests) and 'verbally' provided this 'report findings.' Moreover, no info concerning vehicle brake wear percentage, any written fault code info, etc. was available. Lastly, to their credit, the car "appeared" well-cleaned and Manual was pleasant. However, as anyone who has purchased used cars before knows, what the customer assumes after purchase is the true state of the vehicles maintenance. As in this case, no written (other than a CARFAX report populated with information only provided from agencies that provide data willingly) maintenance/vehicle records pre/post-auction were available and which the customer was 'take his/her chances' after sale. Also, while the dealership did provide a 1000 mile/30 day limited warranty, the transactional process and seemingly lack of records presentation of required information makes me very suspect as to the veracity of follow-through if an issue occurred. Footnote: You can purchase expensive maintenance agreements for over $1000-2000 that may cover an incident (s). Effectively, you should add this on to the expense of your car purchase... read more

I bought a BMW 550 here about 3 months ago and finally got a chance to review anyways Andy n my salesperson manual was very helpful and I was happy with purchase but than soon after I started getting problems with car and is costing me more $ at this point I think it's my fault for not taking proper time to inspect it thanks to my excitement in getting the car so here are problems I had so far 1. The rust on rotors are still there after they told me it'll disappear. 2.had to change oil after a week of driving and while oil was getting done mechanic told me 3 of my tires are bold. 3.i had to change all 8 spark plugs. 4. My left headlight blew out on third week. Let me add all this happened with in a month n a half of purchase. The last other problem I had was I noticed I didn't get the price I asked and wanted from what I saw online so thanxs to me getting excited for this purchase I ended up paying about three grand more. My advice to new purchasers is to thoroughly check the car n maintenance record and to read your contract to make sure everything is right. read more

Just sold my car to them today. They have a better offer than other dealers anyway. But it takes me a long time to sell it. I had to go back to the dealership for three times. First time there, they gave me the price; second time there, they asked me for my registration. Since my car has been stored for more than one year, the registration was expired. When I got my expired registration, I called them that I was ready to sell the car, but they offered me a $800 lower price on it because my air conditioning doesn't function well, and they promised that if I fixed the AC by myself, I still get what I was offered originally. It took me $89 to fix the AC, not $800 anyway. Then I went back to sell the car. They said that since my registration was expired, there should be some penalties with DMV if they purchase my car. That's not true. I registered my another car yesterday (the car is also from another state and the registration was expired more than one year) and it costs me $180 to register in one of CA DMV. I showed them all my paper work, including that car's expired registration and the new registration with registration fees on it. They still took down $500 from original offer because they don't know if my car (BMW) costs more to register in CA. I mean does it really cost that much money to register a used, old BMW? If you don't know how much you will pay for registration, why you take $500 from me when I proved that it wouldn't cost that much? Whatever, I sold it just because I don't want to waste my time on it. I don't know if I want to recommend this place or not, but when you need to sell your car to them, make sure that you check the price to fix the car's problems, otherwise, you will lose money on it. Generally speaking, the customer service is good, not like other comments said. All people that I met there are kind and helpful. I'm only disappointed with the money that they took from me for nonsense. read more
