I was in need of a headlight bulb socket for our 20 year old Mercedes, and found the part online at Autohaus. The picture looked like an exact match, and the part description confirmed that. I logged onto the Autohaus site and ordered the part...it arrived a few days later. The replacement part was identical to the original Mercedes part, and I successfully installed it using wire cutters, a wire stripper, wire caps and electrical tape. However, I sent the inquiry to them after NOT receiving my package within a reasonable time ...This part weighted less than 1/2 lb., and it took (8) days to travel 327 miles to my location. I have a Mercedes shop for the last 50 years and been with Autohaus AZ for the last twenty to thirty years. Their products are great, I usually chose the better versions. In general they do a great job, but there is always room for improvement. I am sorry they charge sales tax to legitimate brick and mortar stores, and miss the free shipping on minimum orders. The ability to reach to them on the phone is difficult at best. Let's talk about their shipping. I know they have chosen FeDex as they are cheaper than their competition. BUT, since the shop pays the shipping cost why not let us chose the beat shipper for us? Lets look at our next to last shipment using FeDex The outer box was punctured. three times and the bottom flaps were open. The inner boxes were slightly crushed. These were $500 window regulators (My cost) and since the car hasn't been available I don't know if they are damaged. This is far from the first FeDex problem. I lost hundreds of dollars from their stupid mistakes in the past. One time they delivered to a house not even close toy shop. I didn't find where the product had gone for months. When I called FeDex they just said "Well, we we show it as delivered" Yeh, to someone else, far, far, away. FeDex guys are terrible. I live in fear when they have the shipment. read more

Worse...they first denied the part was even eligible for free shipping, and in their follow up email requested that I email a screenshot of their offer. As many people, I make multiple online purchases each month, and do not take screenshots since I assume a company's word stands. And simple acknowledgment of system error would have sufficed but they preferred to imply I made the issue up.
