Attention to detail! Very thorough, family owned huge reputation takes pride in the work done and is about good repeat business. I drove from Temecula based off recommendations from friends & it's the best gas money ever spent. I had a brand new engine put in my old 2013 Tacoma truck and I have had nothing but minor problems for the last 2 years with error codes check engine lights the list was stressful. When you purchase an older vehicle & replace a new engine in it, you kinda expect small things but much more after such a large purchase & a headache. The last two shops did damage to connectors, plugs, not placing zip ties to keep them off hit parts of the engines melted wires & put in two, three different types of spark plugs so this created huge problems. Mike & his pops did the diagnosis for me & the charge was well worth every penny. They then proceeded to sniff out all of the burnt wires broken connections replaced the plugs replaced small bulbs & items I needed that I didn't even know about check the oil, cleaned the engine up/battery connectors, checked tire pressure whipped down my wheels and made sure not a spot of dirty oily finger prints on or inside the vehicle!!!! They Drove my truck to properly cycle out any possible issues or codes that might have came up. Honestly the best feeling driving away & I wish I would have made the initial investment here. I know allot about vehicles but these two know way more & I would send my wife here alone & trust she will be solid, all my cars will come here. read more

These guys are the best! I came in with an old chevy with transmission issues. They diagnosed the issue and topped up the transmission fluid, engine oil and wiper fluid for free! I brought my Mercedes-Benz 2012 350 GL K in with a problem. It was time to get the oil changed. And it just wasn't running right I had no problems before but I brought it in and the next thing I know that I paid over $5000 for a new manifold Oil Change transmission fluid changed. It's still missing at the RPM gauge you can hear it sounds like a vacuum. It's still not running right. I'm trying to give the car to my Iraq combat Veteran son and the issue has not been fixed and I spent $5000. They seem really nice family owned and operated which I liked, but they did not fix the problem. I kept dumping money into it, so I'm hesitant to go back and now I have a lightbulb problem which is really hard to get to and I don't want to pay any more money. I thought that they would fix it but it's still doing the same thing it did before I brought it in and I'm out five grand. He asked me to bring it back, but I'm not sure if I'm going to. Still having trouble with the car, so I went in to change the ignition coils and spark plugs. These are the corroded, burnt-out spark plugs after their 'tune-up'. These guys are great! I took my 2004 Lexus IS300 to Autoheim to diagnose noises coming from under car. They provided me with a list of items the car needed in order of their importance due to the cars age. They replaced the motor mounts, some suspension components and did an oil and filter change. These guys are a rip off. They charged me $3200 for a battery, window switch and a light bulb. This same work at the BMW dealer wouldn't have been more than $800. Danny refused to give me a written estimate before doing the work and kept up-ing the price so I wasn't ever sure what he was fixing for that price. My car was returned with a bad transmission. Did he think I would rather pay $3200 for a window than having my tranny fixed? He didn't even mention the more serious engine issues until I had paid him $3200 and picked up the car. read more

I was having random driving issues with my Mercedes. Even though it wasn't time for a transmission service we decided to do a proper transmission service. Autoheim measured the amount of fluid that came out and found that it had been under filled by 2-1/2 quarts and that the sensor wire wasn't plugged in properly when serviced at another repair shop a few years ago. Both Danny and Mike seemed like good guys and I took my car there on the advice of my favorite local Uber driver. However, my experience there was not good at all. They gave me a 1700.00 estimate on the repair despite the fact that I told them I was not going to be wiling to put a lot of money into this older car which is worth about 3k. We ended up getting a second and third opinion. The notoriously expensive Mercedes dealer quoted us 1500.00. We ended up buying the part for 300.00 at the local auto parts store and had Hector (my go to guy in Fallbrook for now on) at Tire and Service Center on Main St. put it on for 140.00. If I was treated fairly there, it would have likely resulted in a lot of future business for these guys. You only get one change to make a first impression. And oh yea: They charged me 250.00 just for the diagnosis. Even Mercedes only charges 180.00. read more

According to these guys our Mercedes would not survive another day! These guys are not very trustworthy. They make up items to service on your car it does not even have as confirmed by our Mercedes dealership we normally service at. Our car is still under factory warranty as well. Our car is a newer model and we needed some basic service work prior to a trip. We always take it to the dealership but a friend suggested we take it here. We thought we would try as the dealership was booked up. The friend was unaware this place changed ownership to another family. Our opinion is their only interest is to get as much money out of you as they can with additional repairs or services they make up. Just see for yourself, take your car in for a simple service and see if they do not hand you back a list of repairs they say you need that will total over 2000.00 in most cases. I have been taking my 1999 Ford F-150 (160,000 miles) and my 1998 Lexus ES 300 (263,000) to Autoheim for quite some time. Before Autoheim I was going to another mechanic that did good work and was honest. The reason I started going to Autoheim is I knew either Danny or Mike Covo would be physically working on my car and they would be helping me from start to finish. I felt that this was priceless and that was the reason for my change. They use a proactive philosophy while only doing repairs that are absolutely needed as well as making future recommendations attached with a time line. Always read the fine print. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. Unfortunately I got ripped off, being charged an extremely high price for "labor costs" on a simple appraisal. Not so upset about the cost, just disappointed that they weren't more upfront about it (an auto mechanic being shady, who would've thought). Simply telling their customers how much/for what they will be required to pay beforehand would do wonders. But then again, they probably wouldn't be in business anymore if they stopped ripping people off. Did I make the mistake of signing when I should've read/clarified? Yes. I was quoted $250 and given a time estimate of 1-2 hours. I was charged over $700 and they took 7 hours to complete and 80000 mile service on my car which was basically an oil and filter change. They also convinced me to get new batteries fir my key fob and wiper blades and a break fluid flush. read more

I really wanted it to work out because they were local and I like supporting the local businesses. Well, can't say the other reviews I see here are shocking. I was getting smog checked next door when I stopped over to ask about getting the clutch in my 2000 Beetle done. Now I usually turn my own wrenches and had priced out the parts and can get the SACHS clutch rebuild kit for $165, and a flywheel for around $60 give or take $10-$15 depending on the maker but sans lift and a decent place to work I thought I'd price out the repair at a shop. So, the guy behind the counter quoted me $600 for the SACHS clutch kit, and depending on the flywheel condition "it might get a bit more expensive from there..." (With an ominous look on his face). When I said that's a bit expensive, he said he could probably get the cost of the clutch kit down to a little over $400, and with labor could probably get me out the door for just over $1,100. These guys are skilled, purposeful scam artists and I would suggest you run, not walk away from this business. read more
