The experience started out great. The estimator stopped and contacted us that the price was getting to be more than the value of the car....then, it all went downhill. Our insurance company messed up on our coverage (not Automan's fault), but the way Automan handled it was 100% their fault. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! We referred to our insurance company for payment. When we called back to give info about who to contact about the payment issue, the guy was short, aggressive and rude to OUR receptionist. Our insurance company spoke with the same guy multiple times and we still received a certified letter threatening to sue. Just feels like the whole situation could have been diffused had they taken a moment to explain things to us with the courtesy you should treat human beings with verses the disrespect we received. I am unable to attest to the quality of work, but I wouldn't put my blood pressure through interacting with this group ever again. read more

I requested to have body side moldings put on a 2024 Toyota Rav 4. I was told that this body shop could not do that job. I didn't understand that, as putting body side molding on is a simple, hour long job for qualified people. If the job is not a big money maker, this shop doesn't seem to want to do it. I have had two cars fixed there before, but I guess that doesn't count for anything. Building a loyal customer base does not matter to this shop. No value here. read more

I have dealt with many body shops over the years in different states and Automan Collision and Repair is by far the best I have experienced! The paint job was flawless and the bodywork that was completed was done in a very timely manner. There was communication from the shop at every point during the job...even just to inform if there was no update. James may be young but he understands what he is doing and he genuinely seems to care about his customers, as well as his business and staff. You can feel the high level of care in the building as soon as you step in and I feel lucky to have found Automan. I'm a car enthusiast so over the years I have had many interactions with body shops all over the country. This one right here is easily in my top 3! And the fact that it's just a random family run shop in Gray TN of all places is shocking! Haha! Their shop is very very clean, well laid out and spacious. Staff are soooo nice and they "remember" you, which is rare considering they deal with tons of customers on a weekly basis. Their prices aren't the cheapest, but aren't robbery either. Matter of fact, for the price, I feel you cannot get a better quality job and customer service. They are good at what they do and you can tell they have lots of pride in their work. I HIGHLY recommend them as the pieces they have painted for me have held up to time and abuse extremely well and I am beyond satisfied. read more

I think they're very down-to-earth, and if you have a limited budget they will work with you to find the best solution for the lowest cost if necessary.
