He also emphasized that he was the "cheapest," which initially seemed like a benefit -- but unfortunately, the quality of work reflects that. The fence installation was not completed to a professional standard. There is inconsistent spacing between pickets, visible gaps in areas that were supposed to provide privacy, and multiple sections that appear patched together with random pieces instead of being installed cleanly and uniformly. There is also a significant gap under the fence that was never addressed, which should have been handled during installation. In addition, debris and trash were left behind outside the fence, and the job site was not cleaned up. Items that were discussed and agreed on -- including the top border trim -- were not completed. I was told these items would be finished and waited for a follow-up visit, but after most of the payment had already been made, the remaining work was not completed. When I raised concerns, communication became dismissive, and instead of addressing the quality issues, I was told to hire someone else. Overall, the work feels rushed and unfinished, and I will need to hire someone else to correct and complete it. If you're considering hiring, I strongly recommend confirming all details in writing, holding final payment until everything is fully completed, and closely reviewing the quality of work. On January 31, 2024 we paid a $2k deposit towards a garage door and opener replacement. It was a special order so Jaime said it would take up to 10 weeks for installation. We had to keep reaching out to get status reports and to finally set a date for installation in April. The day of installation they were a no-show. Jaime told us the garage door was stolen from the warehouse and a rush order was placed for a replacement that should arrive by May 28th. Then Jaime said the warehouse had no power and they could not tell us if the door had arrived. We requested a refund and he told us the check was mailed on June 28th. It is now AUGUST and we have not received delivery/installation or a refund. Needless to say, we feel swindled. Jaime abused our confidence, lied and cheated us out of our hard earned money. We filed a complaint with the BBB and if that doesn't work to get a refund from Jaime, then we will proceed with a small claims court case. Note that when we dug deeper into it, he uses misdirection (multiple business names: AJ's By Design Garage Door Services (Previously Garage Door Guys Of Houston) or also Jaleloco LLC).
