I had no idea that companies existed for the sole purpose of cleaning out dryer lint. After owning…read moremy dryer for about 3 months, it started to complain when running it on high heat. Ever since (about 3 years), I've had to run it on the lowest heat setting, for multiple runs per load, just to dry my clothes. Fast forward to around two weeks ago. I smell some type of burning rubber/electrical coming from the dryer, after running it for about 2 minutes. Immediately shut off the dryer and start panicking. Called the dryer manufacturer, they told me about dryerventwizard.com. Immediately scheduled an appointment. Matt just left, he was awesome! Inspected everything, told me that the exterior roof vent grate had become blocked, which had stopped any air flow out of the dryer. As a result, a massive amount of lint had backed up into the dryer. No wonder I smelled burning... he said it could have started a fire on the very next run. He spent around 1.5 hours thoroughly cleaning out the lint from the back of the dryer and the metal duct going through the roof. Thoroughly professional, knowledgeable, and super helpful. Cost a bit more as this was the first service, but as I understand the next service (if on time), will waive the $49 inspection charge. Honestly, the price of $300 was entirely worth it for the peace of mind alone. I was thinking that my dryer was toast, that I'd have to buy a new one and move into a new location. Nope, Matt saved my bacon in more ways than one. Dryer can run on full heat again, and my weekends are now saved!

No way to access the vent inside as it is a stacked unit inside a narrow closet. We've lived here 9 years and hadn't had the vent cleaned, but noticed our dryer was taking several cycles to dry a load. Vent Wizard went up on the roof, took pics (see below), and measured the air flow and heat while the dryer was running (effectively zero). But I really like the how upfront they were about the services and equipment they offer(which is mostly Carrier, a reputable brand). The inspection and quote was given by one professional installer with 5-10 minutes of inspection, not some sale persons who pitch overpriced and unnecessary services. The installation was also smooth and coordinated. The workers and staff were extremely friendly to answer any concerns or questions I had about the new setup. They did inform me on the mass save program, although the rebate application process is almost entirely between the customer and mass save. In my case, the rebate was worth the hassle. If there's anything I would do differently from my experience, I would ask mass save to inspect the unit and know exactly what rebate options I was getting myself into.

They blamed it on the tech being new and offered a $20 discount (minimal) for misquoting and not being able to fulfill the price. At this point, I had no choice but to accept the additional cost. servicing was fine. Didn't have any issues with my units all summer. 2) made an appointment many months in advance to have my 2x oil furnaces tune-ups. 10 mins prior to 8am, received a text that they wouldn't be able to come out and we would need to reschedule. We had moved multiple things around to be able to keep the appointment. Called to see next steps, but was pushed to the back of the line (earliest was November) and no further accommodation for the inconvenience of having to reschedule and move more things around. Ultimately ended up cancelling this appointment and going with someone else.
