I've had good experiences here in the past with an oven and a microwave. I don't know what the problem is right now. I think it was the one sales guy. Yes, they were impacted by the distributor issue that meant they couldn't get clear answers on when products were available. That has nothing to do with the following: Me: I'd like a Frigidaire cooktop Sales guy: you can buy Frigidaire but it's like buying a Kia car (Frigidaire is one of the brands on the side of their service vehicles) Me: I need a downdraft too. I'd like the kitchenaid one. Sales guy: we don't carry that one Me: ok, you have it on your website. Sales guy: ok, I can sell it to you but I won't know when we will be able to get it until it's ordered Me: so I have to authorize my credit card and then you'll tell me when you'll be able to deliver? Sales guy: (blank look) Another week goes by and I'm told we don't know when we can get the downdraft or if it will fit with the cooktop. So what is it that we are doing here? Finally, I give up and go somewhere else. All emails exchanged with the sales guy were sentence fragments and unclear. I think the staff needs some basic communication and sales training. Hunter appliance in the absolute worst business I have dealt with in the last 10 years. I spent thousands of dollars on appliances that were delayed and delayed for months....they waited until a week after they took our money to tell us that the items were all delayed. finally when one of the refrigerators showed up the doors were damaged and needed to be replaced. Probably because the company they hire to deliver their orders has no idea what they are doing... It took 2 months for new doors to come. Then the repair team cancelled twice because they were "sick". When I called management to discuss they were too busy to talk, and had zero answers. read more

My wife just called to ask that Hunter comes out to look at an oven they installed. The oven was over $4000 and has never worked properly. Hunter is requiring $179 to come out and look at the terrible oven they sold us. I understand products malfunction but to not stand behind your products is not someone I want to do business with moving forward. read more

Hunter's came through again. Had a problem with a washer we bought from them years ago when they were still at the old (tiny) store. Made a service appointment, they came exactly when they said they'd be here. Scott was very professional, diagnosed it quickly and had it fixed (came prepared with the part in the truck) in less than an hour. Charged me no more than the service charge they told me on the phone plus the part cost. Great job Scott, great job Hunter's. Thank you. read more

I am extremely happy with Hunter Appliance. They answer the phone when you call. They arrive when they say they will. They care about fixing your appliances the right way and completing the job. Their website clearly says they service southern NH. I live in Nashua which is as south as you can get. When I called for service the guy said they service my appliance but not my area. I asked him why they say they service southern NH on their website and he said they should probably update that and was rather curt with me. It's been 3 weeks since I called and their site still has not been updated. Don't waste people's time if you have zero intention of ever servicing them. read more

I had an expensive wall air conditioner installed to replace my old one. Howie said no problem it would be done in a few days and required me to pay all of the money up front. They disposed of my metal grate and didn't back it with a new one. Initially Howie replied that it was supposed to be like that. I then emailed photos to the manufacturer and they replied that it wasn't correct and that the elements could get in. It took a month to get this resolved and Howie ignored me on the four subsequent occasions I had to return to drop off keys. Finally he told me, "I'll take care of you" like he was doing me a favor. read more

We called in hunter appliance for an electric range issue which was always staying too hot. It ended up being a 20 minute job and replacing 2 burner switches (which are 42$ on amazon). They ended up charging me $354 for a service call of 179$ and 82$ for each burner switch. I asked them to consider repricing given the simplicity of the job and the fact that they were charging me double for the burner switches but they refused. Terrible. read more

Used to be helpful and professional - no not so much A few years ago dryer and refrigerator purchase and installation and service were great which made me return to get a new washer. Installation was sloppy and drain hose with kinks. Called and scheduled service twice - first time called and said they couldn't come at the appointed time. Second time they just didn't show up at all. Both times blamed the septic and drain - maybe multiple problems but the lack of service for brand new washer was pathetic. read more

Hunter does not stand by it's appliances or communicate. We bought an expensive LG refrigerator a few years ago. Stopped working. Turns out it was a faulty compressor...a common enough problem that there was a class action suit, and Hunters had replaced 100's of these in the past few years. When I called, I was told a repair person would come out --for a $199 diagnostic fee. He arrived, did a great job assessing that indeed the compressor needed replacing. "We will order the part and someone will be here in approximately 7-10 days to replace it." 1-I was not told that the person coming would not be fixing it. 2-Why would Hunters not have the part needed if they continually get these calls on refrigerators that they sold to customers? 3- LG came the next day and fixed it all for free 4- Reluctantly, I did call to pay Hunters their $199 fee and left a message asking for the manager to call me so I could recommend that they carry parts, tell customers that diagnostic doesn't mean fixing... He/she never called. read more

Bought a fridge here. Knew what I wanted up front. Great sales experience with Howie and Mike..relaxed, but helpful. Delivery and install was exceptional..Terrance and Joe worked hard, were thorough in their understanding of the product, and moved old and new appliances with ease and respect of our home. I have had Hunter service various appliances over the last 30 years that I have lived in Acton. They are courteous at all times. They are prompt, and know their stuff. Recently I had a difficult issue with my washing machine, the result of a faulty transmission. It is a true direct drive washer, so I wanted it repaired. I took the cheap route and purchased a rebuilt, which was not up to snuff. I had waited quite a while for service due to the Christmas season. Well when would you least like your appliances to break down? I was therefore upset that the rebuilt did not function as expected, and basically threw a tantrum. They remained calm, ordered a brand new one and got it to me pronto, without hesitation. I am without hesitation in recommending this company. read more

Are you kidding me. Going to spend thousands of dollars and you can't provide the required gloves! I couldn't be more impressed with Hunter Appliance. I've bought major appliances from them that have been terrific, but MOST importantly, their Service Department is incredible. I've called upon them several times in the past 12 years, and every service call is beyond belief. They are courteous on the phone, when making the appointment, and they make sure they understand exactly what the problem is. The Technician calls within the agreed-upon "time window" to make sure it's a good time. Then he arrives promptly & puts on shoe-covers as soon as the door is closed. YES! He confirms exactly what the problem is & then goes to it. Our Bosch washing machine was looked at several years ago, and the Tech. immediately determined that there was a coin stuck in the drum (ouch), and he took the time to show me how to open a little drainage plug in the front of the machine, drain out a few cups of water, and remove the coin, in case it should happen again. And it DID happen 2 more times over the next several years, & I fixed it myself. How great is that? Two days ago, I had Hunter here again because my 12-year-old(!) Bosch washing machine drum stopped spinning. The Tech - JIMMY - quickly determined that a "connection" inside the machine had become loose. If you're familiar with Bosch machines, you know how much they SHAKE during the spin cycle, (it sounds, & feels, like a 'copter is landing on the roof!) it's easy to understand how an inside connection could work itself loose - especially after 12 years. So Jimmy secured the connection - tested the machine - and we're good to go. He explained the entire situation to us, and couldn't have been more pleasant. He was fabulous! Clearly, Hunter takes pride in their business, and their Service Techs are as good as it gets. You absolutely can't go wrong with them, and I'm delighted that they're here. read more

Guy at the counter was not friendly. He also did not ask about the previous type of dishwasher I had. They tried to deliver and install and could not cause the new one needed an outlet not hard wire. I had to wait for an electrician, then wait a week for hunter to try to deliver and install again. Then when they did they said between 1 and 5pm, and they didn't show till 7pm and I had to leave by then. Then when I tried to reschedule again the guy said it was my fault... its my fault they were 2 hours after the time they said they would be? I will never use this place again, these people are jerks. read more

The sales staff here is not friendly or helpful at all, it seems like they are bothered when you walk in and want information on products. Years ago they were good to deal with but not anymore. This company cracked my granite counter top when they came out for a repair and refused to take responsibility for it. The owner came out several days after I reported the problem and said it was an "old crack" because of dust. It happened to be yellow pollen season! read more

I purchased a washer and dryer from Michael G. (new salesperson) last week. I had specific measurement requirements for my space. Michael knew his inventory and listened to my preferences. Within 15 minutes we had identified the machines and Michael wrote up the sale and arranged for delivery (took delivery yesterday). Terrence and Andy were on the delivery truck, called to notify me of their arrival and did an excellent job of removing my old machines and installing my new machines. Andy in particular took his time to be sure that both machines were adjusted to be level and that both worked properly (tested water lines, made sure dryer heated up). Seriously????? 8a called Hunter Appliance. 9a the repairman was walking through my door. 10a I am at my computer writing this review with the gentle hum of the dryer in the background! Mike, the technician, repaired, tuned up, and cleaned the dyer in under an hour. He even turned the dryer door around so I don't smash my shins every time I open it!!! Very reasonable bill! My wife and I shopped at The box stores, Sears, Best Buy and on line, but could never get the information we needed to make an informed choice. As a last effort, we stopped in at the local appliance store not expecting much. To our amazement, salesman Rob really knew what he was talking about. He steered us to appliances that would serve our needs, not the most expensive in the store. Prices were in line with what we had seen elsewhere and the appliances could be held after purchase so we could complete our kitchen before taking delivery. We bought a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The installation crew was fabulous and explained how to operate each unit before leaving. All we can say is, "Wow". read more
