These guys are a joke and reviews are misleading. Scheduled an appointment 3 days in advance, dropped off my car at 9am when they told me to for an oil change, long crank problem, and transmission fluid change. I trusted them and didn't bother them with any phone calls until 3 PM. They made a bunch of excuses and said that they haven't even touched my car yet. When I dropped it off in the morning I told them that I needed it back the same day. They told me at 3 PM that they would start on my car ASAP and get everything done the same day within 2 1/2 hours. They called me back 30 minutes later and told me that they would only do the oil change and didn't have time to do anything else. I told them that it's ridiculous that I dropped my car off for eight hours for an oil change I would have just taken it to a lube shop for a 30 minute change. An hour later I go and pick it up an hour and a half before they close and they didn't even touch my car, didn't even do the oil change, and filled me up with a bunch of dumb excuses of how they were busy. Here I write this review at a lube shop that is very busy as well but it's almost done with my oil change. Taking a 2000 mile road trip this weekend with questionable reliability due to this mechanic having a bunch of excuses and not properly attending to customers. Pathetic, arrogant, and excuse driven owner. Waste of money on Lyft's that they didn't have the decency to reimburse. Why mechanics are able to do this scammy stuff is beyond me. read more

Took my Sprinter van in to change out the passenger running board . Took existing one off in 10 min , and charged me such a fair price . Also did it on the spot. Going back to have him install a upgraded one . In fact , I plan on taking on 2018 Subaru for routine maintenance & other if needed. Dave was polite, professional and experienced with autos. I made the mistake of going to another shop for an oil change before deciding to go back to Automotive Revival. It's a bit of a drive for me but absolutely worth it, considering the other shop left a 10mm wrench sitting under the hood and an air hose disconnected. Neither of those things were detrimental to my car but I feel a lot better knowing that Dave and the other mechanics pay attention to detail and don't make those kinds of oversights. Don't get Grease Monkeyed or Firestoned - just come here! I also felt very fortunate that they were able to work my car into the schedule without an appointment, although I plan on making one in the future. The shop is cozy and inviting as well if you decide to wait while the work is done. I plan to bring my beloved Toyota RAV4 here for 60,000 mile maintenance and any other work it may need in the future. read more

The people here are fantastic!! Very genuine, honest, and nice people. I brought in a newer British sports car for a coolant leak. They stated that its not a vehicle that they usually work on, but they would do a pressure test on it and see whats leaking. They quickly found the issue but were very honest and recommended a few other specialty shops to do the work. They still gave me a price estimate and told me the book time so I knew what to expect from the other shops. I really appreciated their honesty that they were not the most comfortable working on the car and didnt just take the job for the money. Definitely taking some of my other vehicles that they do usually work on (hondas, toyotas, subarus, etc) when they need work in the future! read more

Mom & pop shop with 1-2 guys working. Super friendly, busy staff. Their rate for an oil change is about $60, about $10-15 less than Jiffy Lube. You can tell the guy is very knowledgeable and is good at communicating delays. Best to call for an appointment (leave a message if they don't pick up right away) rather than show up on the day of. Despite my showing up at 9am and having 6 cars to work on ahead of me, the guy still serviced my car and I was out at 5:15pm. Thank you!! read more

The only mechanics I should trust are Dave and his loyal crew. Dave drove to my apartment to fix my car when I couldn't even move it from my parking spot. What mechanic do you know takes a house call, changes your oil in your parking lot and even tells you how to clean up a mess the proper way? I was traveling through town and needed an oil change. I prefer private garages to the chains. Dave was just what I hoped for. He managed to fit me in and gave personal service. It's nice to have the owner working on your car. I had confidence going in and even more confidence after the work was completed. He checked my air filter and finding it in good condition didn't sell me something I didn't need. He also checked under the vehicle and noticed a loose bolt on my transmission cooler. That solved a small rattle that I had just begun to notice but hadn't even thought to mention. The waiting room has jazz and a pool table not to mention interesting coffee table books. My check engine and traction lights both came on in my Toyota Camry, and as I drive PT for Uber, I did a panicky search for a good auto shop to check out the problem. I found Automotive Revival and gave them a call- and am SO glad I did! Dave told me to drop it off and he'd give it a look the same day! I drove it there during my lunch break, Ubered back to my FT job and waited for the call. Dave ran the codes and looked under the hood. It turns out I had been "Grease-Monkeyed"! After getting an oil change/Air filter change at Grease Monkey that past week, the Air Volumetric Chamber for some reason had been disconnected, causing too much airflow to the engine. When I arrived back at Automotive Revival after work, Dave opened the hood and kindly explained what the problem was. He was knowledgeable and respectful- he laid everything out clearly, and I never felt taken advantage of or "bamboozled" if you will, which has always been a risk as a young woman walking into a new shop. Dave had reconnected the AVC, the lights on my dash went off, and my Toyota was running like new again! He highlighted a couple other issues on my car (wobbly braking- warped rotors, etc.) but told me honestly that it wasn't a necessary fix yet. He was honest and while he made me aware of other minor problems, he never tried to "sell" me on things I didn't need right then. I asked Dave what it would cost, and he told me not to worry about it. I'm sure this wouldn't be the case if my car had required extra work/parts/labor, because c'mon- cars take time and parts cost $$ and the man's gotta make a living- but even when he was quoting me on a part that may need replaced in the future, it was a reasonable, honest rate. Just got my car back to health thanks to Dave. Our Subaru Forester made some weird noises and struggled a bit on the way back from the mountains and the dreaded check engine light came on. We had experienced something similar a couple years ago and had it looked at in conjunction with a recall fix at a dealer. They were obscure about the cause, offered a complicated fix, and charged us several hundred bucks including a few maintenance items. So, no dealer this time. Dave was super laid back, educational, and great to work with. He called a buddy who worked on a lot of Subarus for insight, and offered a simple solution that didn't cost much and told me how to avoid this issue in the future. I feel much better about our car now and know where to go the next time we have any trouble. If Dave can't fix it, he has the resources to find somewhere or someone else to get it done right and not rip you off. read more

Dave was able to get us in quickly and was very thorough with his analysis of my car repairs. It's a little weird for me to think about Dave as "Automotive Revival", because I think he's been fixing my cars since he was just a guy in a garage. And that's a long damned time. But now that he's an official business (well, he's been that for quite awhile, actually, I'm just slow), I figured that the LEAST I owe him is a good honest review. Dave has helped me limp through a number of beaters, as well as taken care of my family's cars too. I recommend everyone to Dave and have for years -- bands rolling through town, people I've just met...but ESPECIALLY women. Dave is great with the ladies, and by that I mean: honest, trustworthy, respectful, and will explain things to you without treating you like you're stupid, and that's saying a lot. Not only that, but Dave has rescued me from parking lots and done the work right there, got my elderly Mom's car to pass emissions and didn't even charge her labor (sniff!), and helped me out of more binds than I have the memory to recount or you have the patience to read. Dude is SOLID. I've had some awful experiences with mechanics, and Dave has always given it to me straight, even when it was a painful reality check, and his prices are fair and honest. He'll listen to your needs and meet them, and not sell you a bunch of unnecessary bullshit. Not only is he super knowledgeable about random things this particular car needs, he really goes out of his way to be awesome even to new costumers like us. Brought our ford focus to have breaks replaced, job was done super fast, they now work and sound so much better, charged less than he quoted which was the going rate, AND he even stayed open late to accommodate my late pick up. I'll admit, I'm ALWAYS on my guard when I go to a mechanic. I'm young and female, so naturally I expect that to be taken advantage of. When I met Dave it was a completely different story. He was so friendly, welcoming, and honest, and even did some work on my car for free until I could get it in for a full day.
