Being unfamiliar with the local auto repair shops I turned here to Yelp for some potential candidates and fortunately for me I found Fred's Wrigleyville Garage. I called and explained my situation and they were able to get me in the very next morning. Not only did they fix my Fusion in a few hours the price i paid was more than reasonable. Luke was great to work with and needless to say if I ever have an issue again while I'm here in the Chicago area I know I have a great auto repair shop that I would most defiantly return to ! I came from having experience with high prices from Midas and was immediately comforted with the down to earth staff and reasonable prices. I appreciate that they will always take my car and look at it to tell me the diagnosis rather quickly. However during 2022-2023 I felt like they overestimated the repairs and charged way too much. I feel like they no longer care about the customers best interest, they will flatly ask a repair cost that's double the cost of the car and act like they don't care if you can't afford it. Everything to them is "necessary". I feel like they aren't real anymore. Also the repair quality itself has gone down as my control arm all of a sudden "failed". I have a 17 year old car that is 150k miles. I am no stranger to getting it repaired. I believe that a car that is taken care of will take care of you. Where I take it matters, and unfortunately I no longer can rationalize taking it here. It's disappointing to spend that much money at a shop and for them not to even remember you. I'm not sure what management is doing but it is not the same shop it was just a few years ago.

I remember a few months ago asking Greg about getting a Transmission Flush done, he told me they had no machine to do that work, properly, ya know I would have not had a clue it takes a special machine to do that job right, Greg explained it clearly to me, I thought about it later and he could have ripped me off I would have not known the difference. But he is not that kind of a guy & thats why I will miss him and the service he provided my family on our cars. Eliot's also offers a loaner car if the repairs are going to take a day or two so I'm not stranded or have to change my plans. (Located near Addison Brown Line stop and Trader Joes). Didn't say a word to Eliot what other place recommended within an hour after I dropped the car off I received a call that my tire was fixed. They took a nail out and put a patch on the tire. Good as new. 29$ charge vs the hundreds I would have paid had I just taken the first recommendation. Eliot and his workers are honest, good people. That's what happened to me at this Pep Boys. Now, I've been here once before, and received the same treatment from another employee, so this was not a one-off. The headlight was out on my car, and yeah, I could probably YouTube it and attempt to change it myself, but that just seems like something I would never ever do. I didn't want to get a ticket, so I stopped here on my way home from work. Now, the location is tucked away, and you really can only see it if you are on top of the bridge on Cicero. It is kind of behind the Aldi/WalMart. It is worth looking for and stopping in. I was in and out in about 5-minutes. The cost was beyond fair, and much less than I expected to pay. I believe Elias was the name of the gentleman that took care of me. He was honestly one of the nicest people that I've dealt with in a while. It was at the end of his long day, and he was in the middle of fixing a car, but you'd never know it. I walked out of there feeling so happy and satisfied, with a smile on my face, knowing I wasn't ripped off and knowing I will be back for any future needs. I highly recommend!

I made an appointment to come in last Friday to get 2 rear tires. I asked for my tires to be…read morerotated. Little did I know that my right rear passenger side tire that was leaking air regularly for the last several months would be placed on the front passenger side. How could they actually replace my right passenger front tire with the defective right rear tire? I called on Monday 3 days later with the complaint that my alert on my dashboard indicates that the front passenger side tire is down more than 10 psi!!!! I called Pep Boys and was told to come in and they will "take a look at it". I came in the same day and told Ivan that I believe the defective tire was moved to the front. I am experiencing the same dashboard warning that I previously had with the passenger rear tire that was replaced on Friday. Ivan checked the front passenger tire and told me that there was a loss of air around the stem that he repaired. Ivan assured me that I would not have anymore problems with that tire. Now today is Thursday in the same week and guess what? I got another alert on my dashboard indicating low pressure in the front passenger tire yet AGAIN! I called the store after I got time at work. This time I asked to speak to the manager. He said "bring it in and I'll take a look at it." I initially asked to have one of my old tires put back on Monday but Ivan glossed over that. Now I am asking the manager to do the same and he says those tires are gone. I am a recent widow and do not want to stop and put air in my tires every other day!! That is why I replaced two tires. I did not buy cheap tires from Pep Boys but now I am sorry I chose them to buy tires from!!!!
