Their prices are fair and affordable. He always tells you what your car needs and that is it. Unfortunately, I have had mechanics in the past try to upsell me on upgraded parts to find out later they ended up putting the cheaper part in anyways but still up charging me. My cars never ran right. Not the case with Sam. My cars stay fixed after Sam has worked on it. Sam has a heart for his customers and treats all of them like family. After waiting for many months debating which mechanic I should take my car to, I finally took a leap of faith, took my car to Sam's one stop and I could not be more happier with my decision. Sam is very honest and will not upsell customers for any other services that are not needed. I had multiple issues on my car and after careful evaluation, he clearly outlined what needs to be fixed ASAP and what can be postponed. So I take my car to Nissan for an Oil Change. Afterwards they tell me I need new brake pads and calipers. I go home check my paperwork, and it has only been 25k miles sine my last brake job. Usually, I get 50k miles between brake jobs (I currently have 70k on the brakes for my Honda). I get some bogus explanation and was quoted roughly $600 for the repair. I reached out to a friend who referred me to Sam's One Stop Auto. Although Sam's One Stop was out of my way, I got the job done for $275. I am very pleased. Sam (the owner) is very nice. This is the absolute best mechanic in the Chicago Metro Area. I drive 65 miles round trip because I know the prices are honest, accurate, and cheap. The work done here is first rate and Sam, the owner, wants to make sure you never have to come back in for the same problem. He called me several times to ensure the work he did on my 1980 Honda Prelude kept that car running and without issue. Since his work on that car, I have taken a 1978 Mercury Bobcat and 2001 Honda Accord to him. All the work done was first rate and perfect. In fact, I got quoted $9000 for the repairs on my Honda Accord only to have Sam do the exact same work for $1500. AN ETHICAL AMAZING MECHANIC!!! I wish I had an option of better than 5 stars. We came in after getting a quote that didn't seem quite right. A friend sent the quote to Sam, who asked to take a second look at the car. He came back with a quote that was substantially less. More importantly, he was concerned that a particularly dangerous repair had not been addressed in the prior mechanic's quote. Sam then compared the quotes, "apples to apples", and added on the new item (which was actually pretty inexpensive). Finally, he laid it out. We only needed about 2 items on the quote right away. Everything else was not urgent and could be repaired in increments without hurting us financially. A few weeks later, our other car had a problem. We were seen quickly and Sam remembered us right away. He welcomed us like family. He was always very mindful of our budget and updated us with changes right away. He was fair in price and the quality of work is amazing. He made us feel like a friend and family, made it a point to remember our names and our son's name. I went to this place yesterday since my wipers stopped working. I actually went to another mechanic shop first and he told me I would need brand new wiper motor and quote me close to $750 with parts and labor. I wanted a second opinion so my dad recommended I go to Sam's one stop shop auto. I ended up taking my car there the same day and he took some time but determined I didn't need to get a new wiper motor and was able to realign the track with the existing wiper motor. He saved me a lot of money and now wipers work so great. I will def go to Sam's One Stop Auto for my auto repair needs. He's very professional and courteous to his customers. The place is pretty nice for a mechanic shop. Plenty of space to sit either watch TV or do your work which I was able to do while I waited there. On my most recent encounter with Sam, I had had my 3 year old car into the dealer (Wilken's Hyundai) for repair of my side mirror that was loose. Also, the counsel on the ceiling that has my blue tooth, lights, and moon roof controls was hanging from the ceiling. Wilken's quoted me over $1200 to fix these two things.
