Auto parts thrown into my car. According to the employee they do this with all vehicles with no regard to your items.
    Christy H.

I'm giving 1 stars because of the poor customer service that is autonation collision center. my frustrations with this place comes from the damage to my personal items that were left in my vehicle. I got my vehicle fixed after I was rear ended at the Autonation in Tempe, AZ. I turned my vehicle in and as soon as I got it back from repair (same day of my move to TX) I was so focused on moving that I didn't really do a full inspection of the repairs/repaint as well as the paneling. The panel gaps were so large water entered them, color was not a match of the rest of my vehicle and my mud flaps were never re-installed onto my car. I called this place and Charles assured me that my vehicle would be fixed and they'd take care of it. (Which they didi). I needed to turn the rental car in early that they got me because I had to fly back to PHX but I wanted to remove the items that I had left in my car since my car was being left unlocked. (They were aware I had these items in the car as well.) Upon arriving to my vehicle I opened the trunk and all the car parts were thrown into my car and onto my leather seats - scratching my interior leather as well as damaging 2 custom 3x5 art pieces that are valued around $700 each and would've appreciated more in value over the years had they not been damaged. If you are going to use my car for the storage of parts you could put my seats down and not place things directly on my leather. Or call me and tell me to remove my items especially when you were informed those items were in there. The solution? An interior and exterior detail. After having to deal with a month of repairs on top of the frustrations that come with an accident I also had to deal with the damage of my personal items of value. I appreciate the detail but that doesn't provide me with any solution - especially when as soon as I regularly use my car the scratching of my leather will be more noticeable. I will update this review with pictures.. Update 07/12 - called based off the review response and couldn't even talk to the GM. Who is Charles. No one could give me their insurance information. Attached are the photos. Update 07/27 - I have waited for 3 weeks for someone to contact me. Charles is out sick and has been out sick. No one has contacted me to rectify this situation. I have had radio silence and have lost roughly $3k in permanent vehicle damages by this repair shop. It's almost as if they don't care about customer service now.

Just a warning if you think this body shop is great because it's part of AutoNation and right across the street from the Toyota dealer, then you're dead wrong. I had a deer hit me my Corolla on the side, there was a minor dent on the rear and passenger door, I assume the cost and time to repair would be minimal (I attached pictures, so you'll have an idea) but I was completely wrong. From the time of drop off to my pickup it took about 7 weeks! I took pictures of the impact and did an online estimate through my insurance. The initial estimate was around $1200, I took it to AutoNation center on 8/21/2023 for in-person estimate, the shop estimator I work with was Jerry. His estimate was a lot higher than my insurance but couldn't give a $ amount or time of estimate but I decided a drop off date of 8/28. That was a mistake, 2 weeks went by, and I had not heard anything from Jerry, so I called and left a message. I got a call back on 9/14 saying all parts are in and just waiting for a technician for painting. It was a clear lie because another 2 weeks went by, I have not heard anything, so I called on 9/25, apparently, Jerry has not submitted his supplement to my insurance which came out to about 7K! A lot more than Geico's initial estimate. So, on 9/25 the repairs had not begun, my only issue was the length of repair. My guess is the shop was disputing the amount of repair and had to wait for Geico adjuster to inspect, which is why I believe it took 7 weeks. Whether or not the supplement repair was necessary or not is debatable and can't confirm but I believe its price gouging. I was finally able to pick up my car on 10/16, at the time, the shop was still disputing over $700 total repair. They did a good job with the repair but again it was a barely noticeable dent, no panel needed replacement, some damage to the rear wheel; it was mostly labor for "painting", it should not have taken so long and so much $$. I don't blame Geico for the entire process, this shop is shady asf. You may take my review as a grain of salt, but they will make you sign a waiver (at time of drop off) agreeing not sue them for taking a long time to repair, means they have been sued a lot before for this type of behavior. Lesson learned, next time I will go to a body shop recommended by my insurance, if they pick any AutoNation I will avoid.

Jason helped me out and it was phenomenal. Got me in next day after I got home from the holidays and took a deer to the front of my Tacoma going about 65. Super extensive damage, and in the middle of the supply chain issues, but they got everything straightened out. Got good updates, and they even air freighted in some parts when they found out my original pieces were stuck on a boat outside LA. My best experience with any auto body work. I hope I dont *need* to see them again anytime soon, but if I do I would absolutely go back here.

They credited the diagnosis fee to the service performed which is nice. They offer a decent warranty on their work. They are also flexible to offer parts options to help lower the total cost of repair. They say all of their techs have senior experience, and they were able to get my car in quickly- some other garages have wait times of up to a week. I checked their hourly rates, they are in line with other garages I have used in the past. They seem to have a very smooth and efficient system set up, they handle a lot of cars with the large garage space they have, and they do a good job communicating and providing updates. Convenient location for South Austin customers. They even sent me a follow up message after the repair- that was a first for me! I would recommend this garage for service and repair work.

I begged, for I TRUST them for any repairs. So, if you are searching for an honest to a goodness, place for your auto, THIS SHOULD BECOME YOUR #1 CHOICE. Two words: UNPROFESSIONAL and DECEITFUL…read more I truly don't know where to begin. I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. Rather than sending this text message 5 months ago when this all started, they chose to dodge our calls and waste our time. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe their behavior. They were avoidant, deceptive, thieving, and rude.

DO NOT TRUST this business…read more My family has been in the car business for over 75 years. I used to use Brownie's for everything for my car back when I had a car that often needed work (2008-ish) as my family always trusted Brownie himself. I recently moved back to Austin from out of state and needed brake pads and my back rotors to be machined. I went back to Brownie's because my family and I always trusted Brownie. However Brownie himself sold his business to a former employee and is no longer a part of the business although his name is still used. The new owner initially quoted me $285 for four new brake pads. So I took off work, drove my car to the shop, paid to Uber myself back to my apartment while I waited on the car. However when Jose at Brownies Automotive called me he told me my back rotors needed to be "sanded" and so the total would be over $600 to replace four Brake pads and "sand" my rotors. Talk about a bait and switch. Anyone who knows anything about cars would know this is criminally overcharging. As a single female he probably thought I was an easy target to scam. Took my car elsewhere and paid $255 for all four brake pads and to get the back two rotors machined (not just "sanded"). Absolutely unacceptable. Brownie would not be happy to know his name is being used this way. I hope this review helps save someone from this predatory business. The positive reviews here must be from friends and family of Jose trying to boost business because if he would try to scam me like this, he's definitely scammed others - they probably just didn't know enough about cars to know they were being scammed.
