I was set on the Mazda3, but it was a bit out of my monthly price range. We finally go to speak to the actual GM and he told us that they would respect the federal definition of a Business Day and allow my sister to return the broken car. So we went back. Since Felix is abusive, they made sure that a female worked with us. But apparently after we reported Felix's behavior earlier, he must have instructed his team to sell the car. So in less than half a day, they were able to sell it to someone else. Like beyond him being abusive and aggressive, he is also cruel and manipulative. Do not buy from here. I traded in a car on 1-15-2026, first they did not give me a good value for my trade in, which I was willing to let go. I took the car I purchased for a post purchase inspection, and the mechanic found a blown head gasket, oil in the cooling system. Needing gasket replacements and full engine reseal. I brought the car back on 1-21-2026 demanding the deal be unwound and my original car. My contract states a 250 mile/5 day money back guarantee - defined as 5 business days. They are refusing honor the contract saying it's been more than 5 days because "we're open every day so every day is a business day." That is not defined in the contract. I walked around, and no one came out to help me. I was literally directly in front of the building. I left after about 15-20 minutes. I went to Crown Honda and bought a 2025 Honda Hybrid CR-V Sport Touring for about $50,000. I also bought 3 extended warranties. From what I've read in the comments here, I was lucky. Caution is advised/ Run I recently visited AutoNation Honda of Clearwater with the intention of purchasing a new vehicle that day, but was unexpectedly met with a breach of sales agreement by the New Car Sales Manager, Mr. Devon Alvarez. A binding contract had been established between myself and Mr. Alex Velez, the Director of Finance at AutoNation, which included a specified price for the vehicle. I was prepared to proceed to the finance and insurance department to finalize the agreement. However, Mr. Alvarez, an employee of AutoNation responsible for managing the new car sales department at Honda and AutoNation Ford St. Petersburg, intervened and attempted to persuade me to purchase additional products such as warranties and other extras, which I respectfully declined. Following a conversation with Mr. Velez, Mr. Alvarez returned and declared that he would not honor the agreed-upon deal as it was not financially beneficial to him or AutoNation. He then tried to deceive me into purchasing another vehicle that I had no interest in, at the same price. Despite reaching out to the General Manager, Mr. Eric Tincher and Mr. Eddy Xiloj, no solution or empathy was offered, and they supported Mr. Alvarez's decision. It is my belief that AutoNation is not a reputable establishment for vehicle purchases, and if they can renege on a settlement agreement, one must question what other commitments they may have broken or may break with other customers. In my opinion, Mr. Devon Alvarez and Mr. Alex Velez are not trustworthy individuals to conduct business with. I strongly recommend seeking a different establishment, not owned by AutoNation, for your vehicle purchase needs. BEWARE!!! AutoNation Honda does NOT ask for your permission before running your credit! This team is very pushy. They completely ignored me when I told several times that I was not there to buy a vehicle that day. Not only did they run my credit without first asking for my permission or even notifying me that they were going to be running it anyway, it felt as though I was being pushed every step of the way. I kept getting railroaded into signing, waiting, signing and more waiting until eventually I had to leave. A couple of times, both the finance man and the sales man were speaking with me simultaneously, which personally I found to be intimidating. Some people might not have felt this way, but for a woman on her own, it was not pleasant at all. After being kept waiting for nearly 2 hours, eventually I had to leave, but the salesman had my keys. I texted him and he did not respond. After waiting another 8 minutes, I eventually got up to go and look for him. He called me later the following day to ask when I was going back in to finalize the purchase. I explained that I was not happy which launched him into a diatribe of justifications. There was simply no getting through to him at all. He felt that he had been doing his job, and he was only "trying to help me". He totally disregarded my comments both at the dealership and again on the phone. I do NOT appreciate being treated that way by anyone! This style of salesmanship is just simply not suited to every customer who walks in through the door. It seems that a lack of customer service training along with high sales-driven goals might be the problem. By simply learning to LISTEN to a customer, one can gain more credibility. Because of this experience I will not be doing business with Autonation Honda and feel a strong obligation to warn others, especially women, about this approach. PS BTW, I visited a different Honda dealership yesterday and the experience was completely the exact opposite... no pressure whatsoever. I have a 2021 Honda CRV and noticed that there is a lot of moisture in the rear light next to the hatchback door. I called the service department to enquirer about getting an estimate on fixing it because my warranty expired. I was told there would be a diagnostic fee of $183.95 and then the cost of the repair. Why would I need a "diagnosis" when it is plain to see there is moisture behind the light cover? This seems like an excessive charge for something so simple. Recently I went with someone who wanted to pick up a car they had purchased and needed a ride. The dealership was about 2 hours away, but he had gotten a great deal on exactly what he was looking for. The lease on my Honda Civic was going to be up in the next few months, so I decided to take a look around while I was there. Our salesperson, Amir Krdzic, was showing me two different cars. An HRV and a CRV. I liked the CRV much better and decided it would be a good fit and since I was there and didn't want to have to do this all over again in a few months, I took the opportunity to lease a car after Amir and the manager, Dustin Brotherwood, were able to get the car to the price point I needed. They are down to earth and don't try and sell you a bunch of extra stuff, they only recommend. Michael even took the time to take me on a short drive to explain exactly how to better use the braking paddles I was having trouble with. In beginning of August 2024 I have purchased a used car with high mileage almost 120 000 miles, I have paid fully in cash without financing it. The managers and GM told me that I will get my car ownership title in few weeks by mail but it took for nine months I just have received it in few days ago by mail. They lied to me from the beginning and overcharged me for a bad car by taking advantage of me. I was honest with them from the beginning that I don't know much about cars, it is my first time buying it and I came to their business it looks legitimate and prestigious. I have visited their office about 60 times since August 2024, because they hang up on me twice and they didn't answer my emails so I had to go there physically. They were kept lying about title and about the registration. About four months I have been driving with AutoNation temporary license plate like a paper, the last one was written by hand because it was expired, I didn't have actual registered plate, even though I have paid for it there. On February 24th 2025 I went to AutoNation Honda Clearwater to refund my money back, because they sold me the car unclear title and also car has a lot of issues with battery, brakes, struts, engine (engine checks on) doesn't accelerate properly moving slowly when I start to drive, a lot of noise when I change the gears, do turns, going through bumps, when I hit the gas and hit the brake and also struts clashing. This car is already went through 4 inspections, it needs another $4000 to repair. I have already changed the oil, replace the battery with a new one, paid about $400.00 because in December I couldn't start the car for a moment until I tried to breaking it and pushing the start button for many times so I brought it to Nissan dealership and in AutoNation Honda Clearwater for inspections so they told me to replace the battery. One of the managers, she was laughing at me when I have demanded my car ownership title and told her to help to repair the engine light on. She said that they can't refund the money, they can't give my title, and I need to pay for their car fixing services. I have driven this car for about 5000 miles only since I got it. I just have replaced the front and back brakes and shoes and paid $860. They told me to handle engine parts and other stuff is basically another $4000. I have spent so much time writing to different government agencies to resolve this problem, I spend my gas, money and mileage by visiting their office for about 60 times. They scammed me by selling uncleared car without title and over charged me with almost falling apart car. They need to refund me the 70% of the money that I paid for their damages, lies and bad service. Since I bought my car from THIS dealership in 2018, everything had been fine. Then.... I got "Art" the service advisor. The name on the receipts is Christopher O. (Advisor #3387). He doesn't communicate the status of the vehicle and does not follow up. He one of the most rude and sarcastic employees I have encountered. He states he will call with an update and then nothing.... YOU have to call him and keep calling. When I had my last oil change in July, I complained at that time directly to the service manager and I asked that I never be assigned Art as my service advisor at any future visit. Well, guess what... this weekend I had another visit to this service department for an oil change and I got Christoher ("Art") again and experienced the same issues. So we had a maintenance package thrown in when we bought the Honda so we have been returning here for the past few years until it runs out. It is really easy to make appointments online or by calling. Lots of options throughout the day. I pick a really early appointment to get it done before work. They offer rides to and from work which is a plus but if waiting the waiting room is pretty nice. Free WiFi, water and a desk area to work. No complaints about the work. It has been basic stuff. I don't like all of the stuff that gets thrown in. I understand more maintenance is needed as the miles get higher and they don't press you too hard. The dealer is always more expensive so just be prepared but overall this a good shop that takes care of your Honda. It is tricky getting here as they are off 19 on the frontage road. If you miss the turn into the lot you have to circle all around either going under 19 or looping back to Whitney rd. Don't miss the turn! read more

On NOVEMBER 12, 2021 my wife purchased a 2017 BMW X1 from Honda AutoNation of Clearwater as a hard earned , much deserved birthday present for herself. Her dream car is now a NIGHTMARE. Her car recently overheated, was unable to drive and taken to Ferman BMW. Ferman BMW followed up after diagnostic and told us it was the same issue we brought it in for back in OCTOBER 2021. WE DID NOT OWN THE VEHICLE UNTIL NOVEMBER. Lexus of Clearwater (Owned by AutoNation) brought the vehicle to Ferman BMW on 10/12/21. Ferman BMW advised Lexus of Clearwater of the service needed Shifter and Turbo Cooling Lines, Lexus declines service. Service ticket with Ferman BMW was closed on 10/26/21. 11/3/2021 AutoNation Honda Clearwater listed the vehicle for sale. They knowing, willingly, unfairly and deceptively sold it to her on 11/12/2021 knowing they declined the repairs, while at the same contradicting their own written claim. "Plus, these used vehicles have PASSED our RIGOROUS inspection with STRINGENT STANDARDS ENFORCED by a team who, INSPECTS, cleans, adjusts and REPAIRS EVERY VEHICLE BEFORE YOU SEE IT." $9,900 is our repair bill now. In an attempt to resolve the issue reasonably we spoke with General Manager Eric Tincher, who is the perfect person to represent how unfair and deceptive AutoNation is. In his words, "We're very motivated to help and would like the opportunity to earn your trust. Additionally, it's important to me that we meet your expectations." Eric first denied responsibility. Attempted to place it on us by asking why we didn't buy their warranty? (Incredibly sleazy to sell a car you know is broken, then suggest buying your warranty to cover the repairs you declined) I pointed out issues were before purchase, warranty covers after purchase. Even after having proof of our claim he still placed blame on us and Ferman BMW. Promised conference calls and to speak with BMW for resolution, he never did, never followed up. I advised of lawyer and he begged for a chance to "make it right". Him making it right was running her credit again, purchasing a higher priced vehicle that was lesser and not equal to or above her car, a higher payment, and trading the X1 in for negative equity, to be financed. Again this man is the perfect representation of your stereotypical, sleazy used car salesmen. Based on our experience with Eric Tincher, as general manager he has found the perfect fit for his sleazy character. Now we have to take out a loan for the repairs, hire an attorney, are reaching out to Attorney General as well as Channel 8's better call Behnken and anyone else who can get our story out. It's a shame AutoNation and Eric would rather conduct business like this instead of fairly, honestly or reasonably. Thank God for lawyers and FDUTPA. My husband came here to buy a car which was a quick process but waited 2 hours to buy the car since there was only one finance manager that day. I guess that isn't something that could be controlled with not having as much staff on the weekends but still very frustrating. We came back the next day and the processing of payment was smooth but when they handed the keys over, told us it only came with one when we always get 2 keys. Told us we had to pay for the second one in service until our finance manager said they'd work it out. After sorting it out, took another 45 min to find and then make us the second key. I took my car in to the dealership as the air conditioning fan was not blowing air consistently. The Honda technician ran a test on the system and blew out the condenser motor on the system. They charged me $1600 to fix the condenser replace the cabin filter and replenish the Freon and the Air still is not working. I took the car to another mechanic and he was able to diagnose the problem and replace the cabin filter had not been changed. The Honda technician never even put the blower motor cover back on the system. The mechanic took the connector off and cleaned the parts. He also replaced the nasty cabin filter and the air conditioning works perfect. I would stay away from these over priced con artist at Auto Nation Honda on frontage road in Clearwater. I have purchased 2 vehicles in 5 years with this dealership. I have always taken my cars there for service but will never again be ripped off by this unscrupulous dealership. read more

I have a problem with my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, still under warranty. All error lights are on and the car reports all systems have failed. I called for support at AutoNation. They suggested I charge the 12v battery. I tried charging the battery with the same outcome. I needed it towed to the dealership but I could not get the car out of park to tow it. The tow driver didn't know and AutoNation didn't know either what I could do to get it out of park. I called the Honda support and my wife called Crown Honda. Both at the same time came up with the solution, in less than 5 minutes. The service advisor at AutoNation had no advice of what I should do to get it out of park. If you value service, which in the case of vehicles is more important than the sales team, then AutoNation is not your choice to buy a vehicle. AutoNation is not a service operation. read more

LESSON LEARNED. ASK FOR A SECOND KEY BEFORE YOU SIGN!! After searching for a quality used car, we finally found an Infiniti QX60 on the lot. For the price of used vehicles these days we were happy with the price. However it was not until after we signed the papers and wrote the check, that we were handed ONE key fob. If anyone has ever had to get a fob replaced, its hundreds of dollars. I called the InfinitI dealership and it would be $350 to get a new fob and have it synced to my vehicle. I called Auto Nation several times asking if the sales team had contacted the previous owner to see if they had the second key. However it wasn't until a week later when I called again, that the manager told me there was no second key. I asked that they split the fee with me to get another key and they said NO because it was not a Certified car. A Certified Used Car at this location are strictly Hondas. So because I bought a used car which was not a Honda, I was told they were not obligated to provide a second key. I would never consider this a reputable dealership it if does not stand behind what they sell the public. BUYER BEWARE. read more

I purchased a new 2019 Honda Pilot Touring in December 2018. This is our 3rd vehicle that we have purchased from them. At this time I'm not sure if I would purchase our next vehicle from them. The salesman - CJ Lewis was great and I would recommend him. The reasons why I probably not purchase from them again is because: One - I said that I didn't want to spend the day haggling over the price, I wanted their best price up front (as they did in the previous vehicles. This didn't happen, if it wasn't for CJ I would have walked. I played their game because their sister store had the vehicle that I wanted. But the main reason I probably buy from them again is over the finance rate. they quoted me a rate that my bank was offering. However, I discovered that Honda was offering a special rate of 1.9% on all Pilots. They didn't offer me this rate until I questioned them on it. I questioned the Salesman on this and he didn't know anything about the special rate. He questioned his manager who said "not everyone would qualify for that rate". They had pulled my credit report and knew that I more than qualified for any special rates. What they were trying to do is charge me a higher rate to make more money for themselves. I wonder how many others who were qualified for the special rate but were never told. read more
