Our first purchase was smooth and unexpected. My wife and I went in simply to look at the mid-level trim. Before I knew it, I was shaking hands on a higher trim level at a price that didn't cause indigestion. Both Brandon and Dominick worked whatever magic they could to get us to a comfortable spot. And they did so without the awkward back and forth I've grown accustomed to at dealerships. I said I didn't quite like the price, Dominick vanished for a few minutes and came back with a better deal. It wasn't even just the pricing that sold me. They were pleasant. No one spoke to us like we were just another sale. Brandon was personable and made it easy to forget that we were there to make a pretty sizable purchase. Dominick was nonchalant about the whole thing, and far different from the high-stress, robotic finance managers I'm used to. We liked the experience so much that, within 3 weeks, we went back to purchase a second Outback. That was an even easier process. Brandon and Dominick had everything set up, and the price was already brought down to where I was happy. That felt even less like a sale, and more like we were stopping in to check in on new friends. On both occasions, they stayed beyond closing to get everything done but never made us feel like we were holding them up. We returned a 3rd time, this time for a sort of training on the vehicle with Parker. I've never had this offered before, and it was quite helpful. Parker made sure we knew every facet of the vehicle and sat with us for a good 45 minutes explaining every button, knob, and menu. It was at this visit that I also met the GM, Brian, who further solidified that Centennial Subaru will be my go-to dealership. ... And the cars are fantastic, too, of course. We purchased a vehicle for $100,000 and paid for it outright. We wrote a personal check, which the dealership accepted without issue, and the vehicle was purchased in the name of our trust. As part of the trust paperwork, I had to provide my Social Security number for tax purposes. The following day, the dealership called asking to run my credit to "verify my identity." I told them absolutely not. I made it crystal clear that I did not authorize a credit inquiry. I even offered to immediately replace the personal check with a cashier's check if accepting it had suddenly become an issue. The very next morning, as soon as they opened, I was there with a cashier's check and exchanged it for my personal check. Despite my explicit refusal and despite receiving the cashier's check, I later received an official Notice of Adverse Action showing that my credit had been accessed. What happened next was even worse. When I called the dealership, I was repeatedly told that no one had run my credit. After I sent them the official letter proving otherwise, they didn't apologize. They didn't explain what happened. They didn't investigate. They simply ended the conversation, refused to take responsibility, and I never heard from anyone again. That told me everything I needed to know about how this dealership treats its customers. In my opinion, if they are willing to use personal information that was provided for one purpose after I expressly refused permission for a credit inquiry, I have serious concerns about how they safeguard customer information. If they'll ignore a clear "no" from one customer, ask yourself how they might handle yours. To make matters worse, we never signed a single document authorizing them to run our credit or use our personal information for that purpose. Because of this experience, I have filed complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Nevada Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Nevada DMV Compliance Enforcement Division, the Better Business Bureau, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram Corporate Customer Care, 700Credit, and Experian so this matter can be independently investigated and this dealership can be held accountable. I hope no one else has to go through what I did. Protect yourself. Monitor your credit. Get everything in writing--that documentation is what is supporting my case right now. Think twice before trusting this dealership with your personal information. The worst part is that we were already in the process of purchasing another vehicle from this dealership when this happened. Not only did they lose another sale, but now I'm left dealing with the consequences of their actions. Ironically, all of this could have been avoided. If someone in management had simply been honest, accepted responsibility, apologized, and had a conversation with me, I never would have felt the need to file complaints with multiple agencies or leave this review. Instead, they chose denial, silence, and avoidance. That, more than anything else, is the true reflection of this dealership's management and how they value their customers. Potential buyers deserve to know exactly how this situation was handled before deciding to do business here.

I trusted them for years, which makes what happened even more unacceptable. I brought my car in for a routine oil change. After their service, the oil cap was apparently not secured properly. The result was catastrophic: the oil leaked out of my vehicle, all over the street, and my engine ultimately blew. A routine oil change turned into a completely destroyed engine. Instead of taking responsibility or even making a genuine effort to resolve the situation, they refused to cover the repair and actually tried to claim that a rock could have somehow hit the oil cap and unscrewed it enough for all of the oil to drain out of the engine. That explanation was insulting and completely unacceptable. What made the situation even worse was how they treated me after years of being a loyal customer. When I explained that I had been bringing my cars there since I was a teenager and that I had trusted them for years, their response was essentially that they didn't care. After years of giving this business my money and my trust, that is how they chose to treat me when something went seriously wrong after their service. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how a business handles those mistakes. This business chose to deny responsibility, offer an excuse that I found completely unbelievable, and treat a longtime customer like they were an inconvenience. I would never trust this shop with my vehicle again, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering taking their car here think twice.
