I highly recommend AutoTech in San Ramon for anyone looking for car repair. Lauren answered my call when I reached out and kindly offered to take a look at my car first to estimate the diagnostic cost. They scanned my 2010 Prius car at no charge and identified the issues. There would only be a fee if further diagnosis or repairs were needed. The initial scan was very helpful and allowed me to contact the battery company for my Prius battery pack, which is still under warranty. AutoTech is a great place to get an estimate, and Lauren is very responsive. I am beyond impressed with this shop. I needed a new grill, shutter guard, radiator, engine flush, and transmission flush on my 2017 f150. I dropped the truck off on a Monday for assessment. They did a complete, thorough, and fair assessment of my truck and sent the information with photos and recommendations in order of necessity. Surprisingly Ford sent the parts that day. They got everything done by Wednesday afternoon! Service pricing was fair and they did a professional job (no fluid left on belts, cross members, and everything cleaned up). If there is any major repairs I need to do in the future that I am not willing to do myself, I will ABSOLUTELY be calling Auto Tech first. My technician was Hilario C and my service member was Lauren J. Very very happy with this team and experience. I don't generally trust shops and do a lot of my own work. I took my car in for an oil change. When I called for an appt., I was told to be there between 8 AM and 9 AM. I arrived at 8:15 AM. When I hadn't heard from them by 4.00 PM, I called to check on the status of my car. They had not even started to service it! Passenger side head lamp on my Hyundai Genesis stopped firing. My first course of action was to show it to my standard service center at Dublin Hyundai. They wanted to first run a diagnostic ($240) and if the bulb was gone, the estimate was $500 for an 'OEM' replacement. Plus labor to fix. And that I would have to leave the vehicle behind. Something about Genesis headlamps being advanced with a computer on board to control etc. I knew it was BS. Went over to AutoTECH San Ramon. Original Philips headlamp bulb and labor was about $250. I experienced an issue with my Subaru and was referred to Auto Tech in San Ramon. I was greeted by Lauren by phone to see if my vehicle could be checked out, she was very pleasant & indicated I could have the issue checked by one of the mechanics. I brought the vehicle in & sent an email with a prior mechanics estimate for some of the issues. I spoke with David when he said they would keep me informed as to their findings. After David got my approval to proceed with their findings, they kept me updated with the progress of the repair. When I picked up my vehicle I was pleased with my entire encounter with all. I have an old car with only 78,000 miles. Went in initially a year ago for some of a long list their diagnostics scan provided for repairs. I paid them $994 plus at the first visit which included: a complete engine light diagnostic check for $225, and brake fluid flush $176, oil change $103, and an oxygen sensor replacement for $353 so I could pass smog . The total parts were $245 and labor $726. Today I did a coolant change and changed transmission fluid. This bill was over $641. They emailed me that I also needed a cabin filter and a low beam headlight which was out. That is when their front desk rep went in for the kill trying to squeeze out anything they can get and tried to charge me $100 labor and $50 cost of a new bulb to change a headlight. I SCREAMED! I was not interested in hearing about the cabin filter after that. Although they appear to do good work, their charges are INSANE. read more

Thanks to our handy-dandy Yelp app! * The Front desk people, Dave and Lauren, both smiley and very customer service friendly (and "as nice as pie"). * They reviewed the proposed charges, and gave me the option to proceed or decline * They called for an Uber to take me home (on their dime!) * They emailed a detailed report the service inspection * They called me when the car was ready to be picked up * It was pricey, but at least 50% of what the dealer would charge. Awesome. The only thing that is not quite great is that it took 10 days to make an appointment. That makes me wonder how timely it would be if it was something suddenly wrong with my vehicle. Brought a used car here I had purchased for an inspection. They discovered a handful of issues and provided useful documentation. Also used their headlight restoration service and my word. I have a 2011 BMW 335Xi. The battery was dead and the Autotech technician checked and found that the weak battery was causing the alternator to struggle and the voltage output was more to A/C. He said that the new battery will confirm if the alternator needs replacement. I find Autotech to be very honest with high integrity. They told me that after registering the new battery, the A/C voltage reading became 0.05 indicating that the alternator is OK. I must say that if they would have told me then I would have paid an additional $2000 to change the alternator because of the high interest and the price of the new car. I also got A/C recharged and which is working great. I am fully satisfied with their work and recommend very highly. read more

Hands down the best place to go! Came in from Big O's who was actually trying to scam me, I was told initially at Big O's I needed a new engine with 0 explanation and then an employee wanted to buy my car. We immediately decided to tow it here to Autotech and they were able to actually figure out what was the issue. At first they also recommended a new engine but another employee suggested an oil flush and while doing so he visibly saw what was causing my engine to die, was no engine issue at all just the AC compressor. Lauren was so amazing and patient as my dad lives far away so we kept having to do conference calls. I really appreciate how thorough they were with the notes and how I actually got an explanation.
