He is incredibly thoughtful, meticulously good at finding and solving problems with your car, and has a very professional attitude that comes with a very healthy amount of courteousness. Look, do you want a good doctor or a great doctor when it comes to your health? Same with the mechanic you trust your vehicle to for repairs. These guys are "great" mechanics, knowledgeable, courteous, trustworthy and friendly. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive, but fair and reasonable based on services rendered. There are other shops out there "posing" with similar names and or signage trying to skim some goodwill and customers that are confused about the name.....there is only one "European Auto Tech" located at 31 Beta Court Suite J (look for the big Porsche mural facing the shop and listen for the dogs barking at kennel next door) I have seven vehicles ranging from a 2015 Toyota Forerunner, to Ford F250 and F150 trucks, a 2004 Jeep Rubicon and a 2011 Shelby GT500. These guys handle all of these vehicles professionally, with attention to detail, safety and function. They get it right the first time around. As far as I am concerned, look no father for your go to mechanic! (You may still be looking for a great doctor, but now there is one less search you have to make....) read more

Didn't Fix the problem, charged for an oil change they didn't do & took our car on 25-mile joy ride Didn't Fix the problem: After our vehicle's extended warranty was up on our 2016 Porsche Macan S, we thought we would try a repair shop other than a Porsche dealership. Our car had an idling problem like it was going to stall at very low speeds and when idling in place. Eric told us that if we changed the cam shaft sensor and spark plugs that should fix the problem. Now of course he is saying that was a suggestion. Huh? Sure, let's give you $1500 to not fix our car. When picking up the car (after hours), in front of the shop, it sputtered! Charged for an oil change they didn't do: We declined his recommendation for an oil change since we had it changed at the Livermore Porsche dealership. Upon review of the bill, we were charged $336.33 for an oil change they didn't perform. We eventually received a credit after pointing out the billing error. We sure hope that the front Brakes ($989) that we paid for was actually done. Took our car on 25-mile joy ride: Not sure why a vehicle with an idling problem at low speeds would need to be driven farther than their parking lot? 25 miles? That's like a trip to Hayward and back. We requested that the owner call us back to discuss our concerns but he never did. We refused the offer to bring the car back to them for further analysis. Avoid, this shop lacks integrity and ethics. read more

Knowledgable and no-nonsense. This was my first time taking my Mercedes to an independent shop. I needed B-service but I balked at the price increase at the local dealership service department. Turns out European Autotech was $200 cheaper. I left the car for the day and they got the job done. I chatted with the guy in the front office after about things to keep an eye on and learned a bit about my vehicle. And that was that. No drama, no problems. Another review mentioned, "they make you feel like you are bothering them when you walk in the door." Let's be honest, this place isn't like the cushy waiting room at your local MB dealership. They have cars to service, customers to deal with. If you want to be pampered, head back to the dealership. For me, my expectations for independent repair shops are pretty low. As long as the car keeps running fine, I can save over the dealership prices, and I don't have some extremely negative interaction, then I'm golden. This place ticks all the boxes for me. read more

Let's just say for a first time customer like myself, I would not recommend this place! I was referred to this place for a simple diagnosis, upon arrival I had to wait in a freezing cold unattractive small room that looks nothing like an office should. It took a good long many minutes before the person acknowledged me, not sure if his name is Chris as he didn't introduced himself to me. He was half listening to me, very unpardonable and not accommodating at all. It's too long to go into detail, but would like to say this: I walked out of there after 20 minutes disappointed, angry and sad. I drove 16 miles 40 minutes in traffic to have my first experience to be the worse ever. Any place that will treat me like I'm not important, with an attitude that equals rudeness and lack of empathy is not worth me giving my business to. I would not recommend going there even if that is the last open business. I will make sure all my friends and family know to stay far away. read more

These guys did a great job for my "A5" service on my 2011 Mercedes E350. Scheduling was easy and convenient, with auto reminders. The front desk and service people were super friendly for a relaxing check in. They arranged for me to be driven home and then picked up when my car was ready and they even ran my car through a car wash with detail work before I got there. All in the amount of time they predicted. They checked with me about the costs before going ahead. Really excellent service. My car is running super smoothly. Please pay attention to the negative reviews from actual customers not the owner's friends. First, as others mention they make you feel like you are bothering them when you walk in the door. If my car hadn't been towed in I would have left immediately. Then, $318 to tell me "the engine sounds bad. No attempt to find the root of the problem, no diagnostics provided, no attempt to try and repair. The issue actually was resolved (by a alternate, competent mechanic) by replacing the plugs and coil which they could have easily discovered had they even bothered to take the car apart. I recommend avoiding this place. There are much better local options. read more

I read previous reviews of European Autotech after the company was purchased and decided to use them anyways since they had done some good work on my BMW. It did not work out well at all, 0/5 stars. I am a bit of a mechanic myself - and came to this shop seeking help for an 02 sensor that needed to be replaced from not passing smog. On my way over to the shop my radiator blew up - I was ok with approving the exorbitant $1.7 K estimate with the understanding that my vehicle would be able to leave the shop. I told them I was ok with approving the work with the understanding that the car could then leave the shop - they then tell me another $2k needed to get the car running. The tech here and owner went through a laundry list of repairs none of them related to my smog issue. They then had the audacity to tell me it could not leave the shop due to the car being deemed a "Safety Hazard" (no visible threads showing on my rear tires). What kind of self respecting mechanic deems a car with low tread unsafe? Answer: One that has a gen auto ged and is running an European Auto scam. Bianca the support specialist makes it impossible to understand the work being done by using this application that is incredibly hard to understand as a customer. Avoid this shop it does not value integrity or ethics. read more

These guys spent a day investigating, told me there's nothing they could find wrong, and declined to charge me for their time. Had my mercedes service B done at this shop. Price was much lower than what the dealers have quoted. Also they found that my brake rotors were beginning to warp and told me to keep an eye out for it. Everything went smoothly service was done in couple hours. They also followed up with me after couple months to check to see if vehicle is working fine! I am a first time customer with a 2014 Audi Q5 2.0L Turbo 90K miles. Based on reviews I came here. Except for worn drive axles which I knew needed replacing, my car ran perfectly prior to service. Post service (a list of things too long to mention here) and $6,061.75 later, my car has never run worse. Sluggish, rough, unpredictable and uncomfortable. Yes, the folks here are very friendly, engaging, seem knowledgeable and relatively timely, but the proof is in the work. I took my car back to the dealer whose opinion was most of the work performed really wasn't needed (except for the previously noted drive axles and perhaps motor mounts). Autotech has recommended another $2,377 in maintenance which now totals $8,438.75. Seems high to me but then again I'm not driving a Porsche, Bentley, etc. I may give them another try after my next pension check. read more

The next day they call at 8am to tell me they are refusing to do any repairs because my car had too many customizations but wanted to charge me $$$ for inspections for the things I already told them were broken. Waste of my time. Another mechanic was able to get the warranty to cover the cost of almost all the repairs and had no problem working on an upgraded show car. read more

Chris, the owner, and Shane, front office representative are the best. I have a 2007 Boxster S. In the past 5-7 years, this shop and their excellent and knowledgable mechanics have ordered and replaced my tires several times as well as tire repairs. I've had consistent oil services and scheduled service maintenance completed as recommended by Porsche. Just this week, my car required new brakes. After the last oil change, Chris and Shane explained I would need to replace my brakes after another 3,000 miles and the cost. Based on Chris and the mechanic's assessments (especially if you are a regular customer), they are able to prepare customers for upcoming service needs and costs. I appreciate being able to plan accordingly. When your car is in the shop, prior to any additional work or service recommendations (that you haven't already approved), Chris or Shane always call for approval. I have found them both professional and friendly. If needed, they are more then willing to provide a ride. When planning work on my vehicle, it's rare that I don't allow several days knowing this shop stays busy. However, I have had a few situations when I needed an eight-hour turnaround (after the parts or tires came in) and Chris made sure my car had been test driven and ready on time. Their prices are reasonable and they offer a 10% discount for AAA members. I highly recommend this shop. read more

Came here to get a smog check and the staff here is very friendly and customer oriented. Every employee that saw me waiting said hi and asked if I've been helped. The thing thing I like about this place is when they talk to you, they give you an honest answer and it feels genuine compared to other places I've been to which makes you feel like they're out to get your money. I will definitely be back when it's time for service. P.S. Stay away from Autowerks European which is down the street. Had to take away a star since coming back here for service which saved me some money going to the dealer but the tech that installed the new oil filter didn't screw it on straight which started leaking oil and ended up costing me more for the cleanup and having it done right. read more

I had my 2003 986 Boxster IMS replaced, not knowing when I bought it this part can fail anytime, searching were I live in Monterey County going to the Porsche Dealership was an option, but only European Autotech does the IMS retrofit, it was 1:45 away from we're we live. Chris and his Technicians did a phenomenal job They did the IMS, replaced the clutch, replaced new spark plugs with new coils and change my starter. After driving my 986 for weeks, it starts, clutch feels better, and the confidence that my IMS Bearing was been retrofit is priceless, will back for my 5K oil change soon I'm in a process of buying another 2003 996 Carrera and Will definitely have Chris and his techs do all the jobs. read more
