I went to get a part. I called and verified that the part was there and put it on hold. I get there and a young man is helping me. He is very nice. Then Steve comes over and yells at me for no mask. I have a health condition that doesn't allow me to wear it. My husband who has a mask agrees to stay in. He is then told the part isn't there. So I stand outside and call the store and I get the nice young man again and he finds it for me and helps me. I left there without the rest of the stuff I needed and went to O'reilleys and they allowed me in without a mask and were extremely helpful. read more

Had Land Rover problem (surprise, surprise, right?) and limped to the Autozone in Barstow. We fortunately ran into the store manager, Corey, I believe, and he checked to see if he had parts for our Land Rover. Sadly they did not but he called down the street to a place named Casey's Auto Service and confirmed they were open and could help us fix our cranky Disco. He really went above and beyond to help us. Stopped in here last Saturday about one hour into a 20+ hour drive after the battery light came on in my truck. I had a Duralast battery, so Autozone was the logical choice. We arrived about 20 minutes before the store opened, but as soon as it did, Joann H. began helping us diagnose and solve the problem. The one year old battery was dead as a door nail. It was under warranty and We quickly replaced it. Idiot light was still on and the retest Joann conducted indicated the alternator was bad. My son-in-law grabbed the tool kit and had the alternator out in about 5 minutes. Joann began the process of testing the alternator to confirm it was the problem. She quickly determined the alternator did not match what the computer described. She checked the system repeatedly, but no dice. Based on experience, she selected a different year for my truck and immediately found the correct alternator and the associated test plug to use with the diagnostic machine. 10 seconds into the test the machine flashed "Fail" in bright red telling us our suspicions were correct. Joann found the unusual alternator and suggested we change the serpentine belt while we were at it. That made sense to me and $280 later, I had a new battery, alternator, and belt installed by my son-in-law and we were back on the road! 20 hours later, we arrived safely with no further mechanical problems. We were Joann's first customers at 7:30 AM. I expected her to be like most employees at 7:30 AM facing a long day...not very enthusiastic or awake. I was completely wrong as Joann was friendly, very helpful, and completely professional. Thanks to Joann and Autozone, our problem was quickly diagnosed and repaired. I do a fair amount of business with Autozone and I have to say, I have always been treated like a valued customer. That kind of customer service and the convenience of stores throughout many states keeps me coming back again and again. Autozone execs, if you're reading this, kudos to you for setting a standard for all employees to follow. They are doing a great job and have ensured my repeat patronage of your business. We were on our way to Denver but then the voltage went down, we went to the auto zone to do the alternator test and they said it didn't pass, by the way we come from Fresno, we didn't have any tools and so we bought an adjustable wrench and pliers because they didn't let us borrow any tools, we went to O'Reilly and they said that they had an alternator and they said that they can let me borrow the tools but I told them that I had already bought some tools and also there was a very nice guy who took me to O'Reilly (even tho it was nearby) read more

A headlight went out on my vehicle while traveling out of town late at night, so I stopped by a few minutes before close. I was treated very poorly, by whom I believe, was the manager or supervisor. When I asked for the items I needed his concern was more about the time and went on to tell me the store will close in 5 minutes and once the doors are locked he will not reopen. I did have to go back in because I needed a tool to remove the light and he was not helpful at all. Instead of showing me or helping me find what I need he pointed to the area and again told me the store will close. read more

I walked into this AutoZone because my service engine light came on while I was on the interstate I had just had a battery replaced and also my oil changed so I didn't really feel like there was a problem because the car was running well. I had read on the Internet that AutoZone would reset it for free The sales person that walked up to the cash register was a young blonde man with a long beard and he didn't even look at me while he was speaking to me. He basically told me that he couldn't do anything about it and that I should go on a smart phone and figure it out. I have been pretty lucky with AutoZone except for the battery they put in two weeks ago that lasted 10 days and got me stuck on the highway in Utah but other than that at least the sales people have been very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this was a very bad experience and they get one star and lucky they got that. read more

We stood at the register for awhile, mind you there was just one customer in the store (us) and like 5 workers. they saw us at the register but kept working like we weren't there. We asked them if someone could help us and the guy who checked us out didn't even look up, he handed me the receipt, again not saying anything. The older guys that work there are nice and helpful. The young guys are rude and not helpful for the most part. This was the 3rd time I've been jn the store and was ignored each time. I'll go to O'Reilys or wherever from now on .
