We just got a used 2008 diesel sprinter van and the check oil light came on about 300 miles into our first road trip. We saw lots of oil choices, but they all said "for gas engines only.". I ChatGPT'd the type, it said we needed oil that met MB229.51 or higher. All we saw was 228.31. The worker saw we were confused and weren't finding it. This young man, Jason left us but then quickly returned to sow us exactly the product we needed that met our expectations. What a champ. He took the initiative on his own to go check his computer for our make and model and then showed us the exact product we needed, in quart and 5 gal versions. This guy is a rock star, what a great store. Ironically my wife had been directed to the other auto store across street. When I pulled into O'Reilly's, she asked why. Really disappointed in the service at this location. We were on a trip and yelp put our ETA about a minute before the store closed. All we needed was to use an OBDII sensor to check the error code for our check engine light to see if it was safe to continue the trip. So we called ahead and told them we had another 3 hours of driving ahead of us and asked if they could let us use the sensor even if it were a couple minutes after closing, but they said "we will be closed by the time you get here, so we can't help you." As a guy who does all of his own car repairs with parts exclusively from O'Reilly, it's really upsetting that they aren't willing to help in a crisis by just keeping their doors open for one minute. It may be time to take my business elsewhere. read more

The other employee did not assist me fir at least 10 minutes which was frustrating because they were in the back and would come out to get something and clearly saw I was waiting. You know... It's one thing to not know, it's another one to straight up lie. Bought two sets of snow chains on a Saturday night thinking I would need them and the clerk ROBERT looked me in the eyes and said they are refundable as long as they're not used so I proceeded with a purchase. Not only that after looking at my car he didn't even advice me that I would only need one set as he wanted to get an extra sale... Or more like rob me of my money ! Ended up not needing them, went back to the store and was told I should have been better informed as they don't take them back. To my surprise this comes off as pure ignorance and it makes me distrust the store and their brand as a whole. Never shopping there again, lost my confidence in their ability to be honest. read more

I was driving from Vegas to L.A. when my car started breaking down. We're talking noises, erratic movements, and shaking like it was going to explode. I didn't know anybody in the area and absolutely nobody could help me. Nobody I talked to knew what was wrong and anybody who could have known was closed for the weekend. After talking to Steven for less than five minutes he accurately diagnosed the issue, told me the exact parts that I needed to fix it, helped me test the problem and the hopeful solution, and was there every step of the way until the problem was solved. I have never seen that level of customer service and just plain kindness at an auto store before, or any other store for that matter. He went above and beyond.
