The manager Harry is rude. Very snappy. He needs anger management and needs to talk with shop owner with common decency and respect. . I'm not asking or requesting that he articulate with velvet tongue but the condescending tone should be monitored especially when communicating with the public in his capacity as the manager of an automotive parts chains. read more

Went to AutoZone for some help with oil and a filter. Brett was quick to help. And he also called Jiffy Lube down the street to get me right in for an oil change. I had no oil in my engine. He saved my car from some serious damage and he had a line of customers as well. Sometimes it's when people just go the extra mile for you. Would definitely recommend him, he is the commercial manager and he was helping the front. read more

Three mechanically challenged girls head out on a two hour road trip to Connecticut when they realize their front headlight won't work. None of them are Jakob Dylan and they can't drive it home with one headlight so they make a pit stop at Auto Zone. The employee ensures them that if they buy the light, their workers can install it. The girls agree to purchase the headlight. The employee then tells them they must also purchase an expensive lubricant in order to install the headlight. The girls are weary of this but are told it is the only way a headlight can be properly be installed. They head out to the car with employee, lubricant, and headlight in hand. Employee then rudely explains he can not reach his hand in far enough to install the headlight and will have to take the entire battery out, which is a liability. The girls then head over to their local mom and pop shop where the mechanic with chubby hands reaches behind the battery and installs the headlight in less than five minutes. The girls offer him the lubricant to help. He has no idea that lubricant is needed for this task and presumes them to be sick individuals. He doesn't hate it though. Bottom line-don't make me buy lubricant and then not even put it in. uhhh...never mind. read more

I purchased a battery for my lawnmower a couple of months back in July 2019. It is now September 2019 and is totally dead. I proceed to bring it back to AutoZone for them to check it out and potentially get a replacement, as it's still under warranty. The battery was defective, so I assume to go through the return/replacement process with no hassle. So, it's confirmed by them that the battery is absolutely dead. One of the workers, named Jonathan, proceeds to ask me questions in an accusatory manner. - "Did you get the right battery?" Yes, when my old one died, I brought it in and this is the one your store replaced it with. - "These batteries typically last five years, what did you do to cause it to die in two months?" Good question, why don't you tell me why it died so soon. Defective maybe? Actually, I have so much time on my hands that I always enjoy buying a battery, installing it, removing it, and then driving it to your store for a replacement. Awesome-educated question #1. - "Do you turn it off when you're done?" No, pal. What I typically do is when I'm done mowing my lawn, I just park it in the garage without turning it off. That way, when I need to mow my lawn the following week, I just jump on the mower and I don't need to turn it on again. Seriously, awesome-educated question. Awesome-educated question #2. Jonathan then proceeds to tell me that if this happens again, they might not replace it. Oh, so you're telling me that if you sell me a defective product, and it's within the warranty period, you not going to replace it. Is this a company policy or something you just made up? The irony of all this is that Johnny Boy was dealing with a previous customer in front of me, whom was also returning something. He tells the customer that you can pretty much return anything to the store and they still get credit from corporate. If that's the case, then why question my motives for returning a defective item within the warranty period? I've been shopping here for 5+ years and will never step foot back into this store at 63 Drum Hill Rd, Chelmsford, Ma. I certainly do not recommend making any purchases at this store; however, I do recommend that Johnny goes through a few more sessions of customer service training. read more

I went there to purchase a new headlight. My ex-boyfriend used to work there and he was extremely helpful to customers and would often replace it for them. I assumed, foolishly, that the other employees would do the same. When I was paying for the headlight they told me they would attempt to put it in but that I also had to purchase a lubricant or they would not do it as it was "not being put in correctly." I questioned it saying I had bought headlights before and they had been put in and there was never any requirement of buying this bulb grease before. He told me it had to be bought. I said fine and one employee came outside to put in the headlight. He then said that he could not do it and the whole battery would have to be taken out. I told him this was not true as it had been replaced before and the battery was never removed. He said no one's hand could fit in there. Then we took it to a garage where the gentlemen slid his hand right in and within two minutes replaced the headlight. When we offered him the "bulb grease" he was horrified and said that they use no such thing when replacing headlights and essentially it was a rip off. I will also mention that the employee at autozone wasn't even looking in the right place to put the headlight in........Maybe hire someone who knows where a headlight on a car goes! read more

i was there one morning to buy something off the shelf, the manager/supervisor greeted me and ask me if i needed help, caught me off guard and going through my head figuring out what i need. i ask for glass cleaner and he told me where it was located, i did not fully hear him the first time so i ask him to repeat, then he raise his voice at me, i was going to yell back but i stayed calm even though i wanted to punch that guy for yelling . then i waited 30 min for someone to ring me up, 4 people at the front desk and 1 was serving a customer, manager/supervisor didn't care to ring me up or another customer behind me. this is the last time i shop here. pepboys and advance offer better service and discounts read more
