Great service, good prices. Andrew got me in-and-out in 10 minutes with 5-quarts of oil, a filter, a new key fob battery (which he changed it for me), and even came out to my car to look at a Prius part to see if they had it. Didn't have it but told me alternative ways to find it other than going to the dealer for an arm and a leg. His fingers flew as he searched and found the best current deals. All in for $32 dollars. On 01/06 I returned to this store to exchange LED headlights that did not fit my car. The cashier (Pablo) told me they did not install LED, just regular headlights. I asked him for tips on installing because it was going to be my first attempt. He offered to help me if I didn't mind waiting thirty minutes. At that exact time, Pablo came to help. He struggled with one of them, and as another employee (Robert) entered the parking lot, he jumped in to help. While Pablo took out the trash, Robert did his best to make one of the headlights stay on. After many efforts, we exchanged the LEDs for regular headlights. Robert assisted me at the register when we went inside for a second exchange. I couldn't help hearing the employee with long, blond hair (who sold me the wrong headlights two days earlier) asking him what he was doing and stressing that he needed help in the back. I felt like customer service isn't a priority, but an inconvenience. The tone was of annoyance that Robert started his shift and was helping a customer in the parking lot. That's the subtle attitude that makes female shoppers not want to be in spaces considered "boys club", it's a reason why I've gone so long without stepping inside an AutoZone. I want to acknowledge Pablo and Robert because they are superstar employees at this location. They gave me a great first experience at AutoZone because they went above and beyond. They were patient, helpful, and nice. They did not lose their cool when we encountered installation issues, and I realize I probably took a lot of time, but they stayed with me until the task was complete. I appreciate their assistance because I was stressed about continuing to drive at night without headlights. Also, they didn't make me feel stupid because I didn't know how to do a simple installation. In the end, I left with headlights. read more

I had a terrible experience today 5/ 28 around 3pm at this store 3105 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa. I was trying to buy a new battery for my car cost almost $300. this older guy who work there i think he said name Pablo, there was no name tag on this associate, I asked him about the 3 year gaurantee on the battery and he said i would have to remove the battery myself if something happen to the battery I bought within the 3 year guarantee policy and install it myself . He was just extremely rude and unhelpful just plain a mean person. I have to asked for another associate to help me , Andrew, a younger man and Andrew was super helpful and great with customer service. Extremely unpleasant experience with this older guy Pablo who work there as he said his name was , again there were no name tag. And for he keep saying i have to install and remove the battery myself as a woman if i bought the battery from the store withing the store policy of the 3 year guarantee on the battery and he would not help show me this guy is just a poor employee who work here and shout out to Andrew who took over and do a better job! read more

My wife, Helen Sherlock has had several issues with her car battery failing. Last year AAA sold her another. This week it failed again. AAA came out and jumped started it again but they couldn't replace it or explain why it had failed. Luckily Autozone was open until 9 pm. Helen took it there and was handled by Anthony. Kudos to him. He explained that: Newer cars have a lot more battery requirements than old ones. He did not try to "upsell" her. He explaned what she could expect from a range of batteries. Came in to get a replacement bulb for my headlight. I was greeted by one of the 4-5 employees that could see me. I don't know much about car-related parts so I had previously gone onto the website to find the part I needed. I figured I'd ask an associate just to make sure I was getting the right bulb. Gave him my make and model and he said "anything that has 9006" on it. And that was that. Can't be that hard, right? Walking into the aisle, I found the 9006 bulbs and saw that there were a few options. While it's not rocket science to understand that they shelve the items based on parice/quality, it still would've been helpful to get some kind of suggestion from someone more knowledgeable. The guys had no problem chatting it up with each other behind the counter. After standing there for almost 10 minutes, I made my decision (based on the website, product reviews, and a quick google search). Walked up to the counter, asked to be rung up. Was not asked if I had any questions about the bulb. Finished the transaction and left. 1 star for the greeting. 1 star for cleanliness of store. 1 star because I didn't talk to anyone enough to necessarily get bad service; but a little more help would've been appreciated. read more

Walk in and heard the lady manager yelling at another employee. Very loud. I would call that a hostile and unsafe work environment. Anyway, I asked the employee at the front counter if they had specific bolts. Well she was new and didn't know, but got someone else to point me in the right direction. Bad customer service. Few months back I bought a set of front headlights and the cashier looked up my cars info and told me to buy a certain set. Today I tried changing out those lights and found out the cashier told me to purchase the wrong lights so I went into the store to do an exchange. This time the cashier and I guess manager said I was S*** of luck since it's been too long so do an exchange... These people told me to buy an incorrect part, the least they could do is do a simple exchange. Eric helped me pick out some windshield wipers and explained the differences as I perused what was available on the shelf. As he was putting the windshield wipers on my car, he cautioned me not to let the windshield wiper mechanism snap back against the windshield while the metal piece was exposed without the wiper on it.
