I am a girl but I grew up in Indiana and lived a few blocks from the Indy 500. So when I moved to California it wasn't easy finding people like my dad and my brothers who have always had muscel cars and love racing, I'm used to people knowing all about it. Until I found Ace Auto Parts. Bruce has been there since he started in the business, and he knows everything. He is definitly the one that can get the part if he doesn't already have it and he is very knowledgable. He has been able to even get me marine parts for my boat, even though he is a Auto Parts Store, he can get just about anything. Here is the reason why I dont shop anywhere but Ace Auto - I went to Auto Zone and was disgusted, when I showed the sales man the part that I needed, which was a CLEAR FUEL FILTER, the sales man did not know what the part was. I couldn't beleive it I was blown away by that. Couldn't beleive that the AutoZone guy did not know what I held in my hand. OMG. At that point I knew that I needed to go where the Pros go. I would rather get the right part then have to take it back again, and spend all that time putting the wrong part on so, I gave up on AutoZone and Oreily's. We have been customers for years and Bruce has never failed to provide the correct parts. Our original vehicles were a '69 Ford PU and '79 Triumph Spitfire, if parts weren't in stock he found them ASAP. With today's cars technology he is more than helpful in assisting us with advice and providing solutions. We randomly found this auto parts store this morning, as we were waiting to shop at Petco. We asked for windshield wipers for my car, since it needed to get replaced. Only $10 each for windshield wipers, and I bought two since my car needed both wipers replaced (the rubber was falling off). The rep inside the store helped us to look up which wiper size fit our car model, and also helped us install the windshield wipers too! Very nice and efficient, one stop shop. :) read more

I used to come here when I was a kid, they always had everything. Now that I moved back to the HB area, I have rediscovered the power of Ace. It is a locally owned family business unlike the Oreilly/Kragen/Autozone/Pep Boys conglomerate that is owned by one company now. Notice how high their prices are? That's not just inflation, it is market manipulation. I usually get my stuff from Amazon, but sometimes you get fake or poorly manufactured stuff. The prices are also getting ridiculous. My Dad reminded me of Ace (Sorry forget the owners name) so I gave them a try when I needed a battery. The pricing was about 70-100 less than conglomerate land, the owner gave me 3 options and I stayed with Interstate since it is sold country wide (never know on a road trip). I have bought parts, liquids and tools from Ace and the price and quality aren't just better than Amazon and the Zone, the service is great and the owner is friendly/trustworthy. I like it so much I want to buy it, but I don't want to ruin it for everyone!! It is located near a yoga center, YMCA and bagel shop, so watch out for those spandex moms (and dads) crossing the parking lot!! read more

So this morning it was kind of cold and my old car battery couldn't handle it. Infamous clicking. It had been acting up. I managed to get it jumped. I had purchased the Interstate 24F from Ace about 2 years ago. Not being too familiar with automobile mechanics, I had no idea I might have a warranty claim. My battery also let me down about a month ago after 3 days at SNA. Always fun coming home after a business trip to a dead car in the airport parking lot. So I told the guy I always see there, I think its his shop, at Ace, "I need a new battery." He looked it up, and recommended the same one he did two years ago. We discussed the various options. Cost. Warranties. "Wait, I bought this battery two years ago, it has a 30 month free replacement warranty?" "Like do I have to send letters and receipts or wait for a refund or can I get a replacement like right now?" The patron of the establishment said, "Let's take a look." After opening the hood, he examined the date purchased marks. He then looked at the nuts, by eye determined they were 10mm, and suggested he can supply the tools and I could replace it right there. I thought I might be out $150 dealing with a failing battery. Instead I am a customer for life. read more

Ace gets 5 stars from me. The prices are very reasonable. The owner is very honest and helpful. My fiance had an issue with his car. It started smoking and he was right by Ace so he stopped in to see what they thought. Bruce the owner of Ace took his time to come out and look under the hood. Explained to my fiance exactly what he needed and helped him fix the car right there. It was 23.00 dollars and my fiance is on the road again. My family and I are so thankful for his kindness and time he spent to help my fiance out. I wish I would have known this place existed years ago. I will never go to any other auto parts store. Hi, my name is Dan H and I am a lame ass. Especially when it comes to do it yourself car stuff. Last time I tried changing my then wifes oil the wrench gave way and slammed my fingers into the gravel shield. Well, I severely lacerated a finger and ended up getting stitches that threatened to put a damper on our 1st Jamaican trip.That was it for me! To the rescue....the guys at AAP! Cheery, polite, helpful auto parts dudes! Thanks CPHAP Dudes! Seriously, these guys are great and will even help you put on stuff like windshield wipers if you are a Major Lame Ass like me. After leaving I was so impressed by the customer service, I decided to sit in the car and write this review immediately so I wouldn't forget. Bruce the owner was so helpful. I went in to by wax to biff out some scratches on my car. Overwhelmed by the selection I ask for some advice. He explained step by step what I needed and what I didn't need. I was pleasantly surprised he didn't try to sell me the most expensive products. He simply handed me the products I needed and didn't try to sell me a bunch of crap. He even took the time to go outside and look at the scratches on my car. For the first time in my adult life I felt like my grandpa did when I went to the neighborhood auto parts store back home in Pennsylvania. When going to paces like oriellys and the other chains I always delta with some young kid just out of high school who don't know anything the computer didn't tell him or her.
