Went there to get a fuse. Parked in a spot in front of the store. Got blocked in by a small company truck. Went inside to let someone know. The person behind the counter said " Oh yeah, that one of ours. That's why we put a cone there". There was no cone there. This person talked to me in a demeaning tone as if I was stupid and blind. There are 5 spots in front of the store and they are all full with employees and company vehicles. All backed in. This is how I could tell they were not customers. Then I ask the driver of the truck, "Is that the manager?". " No, he is a contractor ". Why would there be a contractor behind the counter talking rudely to customers? Got me. In addition, both trucks had the cones in the back of the trucks. This place needs a little cleanup and training. There is one on Newport Blvd. I would go there instead. read more

I called in to ask about a last minute part we needed because my friend found one of his caliper guide pins was cross threaded/destroyed during what should've been a simple pad and rotor swap. Needless to say, he was really stressing out to where that was all he could think about. Thankfully, Morgan answered the phone quickly and I was able to provide him a part number to check that the online count was accurate. As soon as he was able to confirm stock we swung by real quick to check the part, pay, and pick up. We were in and out of the store in less than 5 minutes! Last week, I visited the location and was disappointed to learn that Miguel is no longer employed there. He was very professional and attentive to customer needs. However, during my visit, I observed that the staff members were primarily on their phones and not engaging with customers. Additionally, the employee behind the register with the curly hair appeared disengaged and unhelpful. I believe the store could benefit from improved management to enhance the customer experience. I turn my car engine this morning and all I hear was this rapid clicking noise. Lucky me - I got the engine up in the 3rd try. My radio needed the anti-theft code which meant a battery issue. I looked up the nearest auto parts and decided to go to O'Reilly located in the Stater Bros shopping center. Luis' greeting and positive attitude was refreshing because the parts store was the last place I wanted to be. He explained the two types of batteries my car took and decided to go with the premium 3yr warranty. Luis was kind enough to install the new battery upon request. I tried to give him a tip, but he refused. I know he didn't have to go through the battery exchange. This fine example of customer service is what will keep me returning to this O'Reilly location. I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Spyder v6 3.0l and went in to purchase spark plugs. They have me on file and the vehicle as well... anywho, this little prick sold me spark plugs that are phukin "COPPER" and not the required or called for platinums which has now had me going back and forth to get other parts to correct the check engine light being on. So in all honesty the little prick got me to sink alot more into parts trying to correct a problem that should have never happened if he knew what the phukin correct part should have been in the first place. Not even sure until tomorrow just how much unnecessary stress has been placed on my engine due to the car having MULTIPLE MISFIRES now due to slicks idiocy. I've been a dedicated O'Reilly's customer for years now, but if they can't hire competent parts people and that's their get down now... screw em and I'll take my business to Auto Zone. I bring alot of business to them since I work on multiple makes and models of cars, I'm even going to tell my clients that if they buy parts from O'Reilly's, I won't work on their vehicles. What a disappointment. About four years ago I was having trouble with my car battery. I got a jump start from a co-worker and drove a couple miles down the road to this O'Reilly location. I received excellent service - in fact an employee came out and swapped my car battery out for me! What a difference a few years makes! Today I again was having battery issues, so I drove to this same location since it is the closest to my work. The person behind the counter looked up my battery options based on the year/make/model of my car. He asked if I wanted to bring in my old battery now to avoid the core charge. I said yes and asked if I could borrow the tools to disconnect my battery. He gave me a pair of plyers! There was just no way to disconnect the battery cable connectors in that tight spot with plyers. I went back in and asked if he had a socket wrench I could borrow. He said no, only plyers. Really? I know it's not their responsibility to have tools available, but I have never been to a major chain auto part store that didn't have the basic loaner tools on hand. I then asked if he could run a quick test to confirm it was just the battery issue. He said he could not leave the counter, he was the only one working. To be fair, he was swamped with multiple phone calls while I was there, but I would also say he just didn't seem all that interested in helping me out. I left and went back to work to call AAA and have them come take care of my battery issue. I will still shop at O'Reilly's - the one in my home town offers consistent and awesome service - but this location in Cost Mesa is permanently off my list. read more

Driving the grapevine, in the dead of night, and suddenly I don't have lights. Scary. Had to high beam everyone the whole way. Sorry folks. Due to holiday stuff, everyone was closed. Another bummer.
