My daughter and I went to AutoZone on University today to see if she needed a new battery for her Honda Civic. We got to the counter to pay for other items and to ask about the cost of batteries. After paying for the items, we asked about the batteries. We explained that the light was on for the battery. The guy (young, didn't pay attention to his name badge) at the counter told us it is probably the alternator and not the battery so I thought okay, I'll take it to our mechanic and see if that is the issue. Before leaving he told us the cost of the alternator, 289 or something like that, but we would get about 20-30 back if we return the old part. When we got outside, I called my mechanic and explained the situatiion after hanging up the guy yelled across the parking lot 60 and I was like what? He said 60, I wastill confused, he finally said for the labor. I said, okay and left. Got to my mechanic and he checked evrything and don't find anything wrong with it. After he told me this, I thought why didn't the guy at AutoZone check to make sure that was the problem. I usually go to a differnt AutoZone and those guys and gals always check and will point me in the right direction and will send a printout to take to my mechanic. Be careful at this place, Maybe ask that they check to make sure that is the issue before buying and/or paying for unnecessary parts and labor. The help that I got from Jonathan, Vardsana and Petey today was above and beyond. I usually go to AutoZone for all my needs because it's the closest and what I'm used to but the help that they gave me today when I was changing my fiancé's spark plugs was priceless. Today 12:14 2025 at 11:00 a.m. went to AutoZone on Van Buren to replace my battery I purchased a year ago can't believe it went out so fast but anyways stuff happens I went in with my receipt they couldn't bring up the receipt number in their system and I've been a consumer for many years at AutoZone the manager that was working there refuse to change my battery even though I had a receipt in the date and the numbers match to the battery to the receipt he was somewhat kind of rude I've been shopping there for many years the employees always been phenomenal helping me out but this guy I never seen before I didn't have time to go back and forth so I decided to go to O'Reilly's I purchased the battery there even though I had warranty for AutoZone and I got the same respect from their employees it just takes one person to ruin a reputation so for now on O'Reilly's is my parts store and keep in mind I had a receipt under warranty so not only did I spend over $130 for a battery I had to go repurchase another battery for $140 bad business or should I say a bad manager read more

I was having horrible car issues, my alternator and battery both died at the same time so I ubered to autozone to buy a new battery so that my car could have a quick fix, keep in mind it is 9:30 at this point and i haven't had anything to eat since 1pm. knowing that they were gonna close in 30 minutes, the employees there, being so helpful, offered to drive me to my car and help me put in the car battery. they effectively saved me an uber trip and helped me install the new battery and jump start my car. i ended up making it home safely and smoothly thanks to Brianna and her friend (who i regret to say i forgot her name ). could not have asked for better service, they were incredibly sweet and friendly! later on i contacted the mechanic that works with this location and they were able to install my alternator for a great price. they have a very handy little network, i highly recommend! read more

I recently had a problem with a return I did at the store (brake pads I purchased that I did not end up needing after all, once I got the wheel off..) The cash register experienced an issue and did not process my return correctly, the money was not properly returned to my card. I spoke with the manager and was asked for paper receipts from my credit card showing that the return did not get applied. I happily returned with these receipts and gave them to the manager. My refund amount was processed and handed to me. Additionally, this was just after the state mandate of wearing a face mask - the manager made sure to enforce this while I was on site and politely asked one customer who did not have a mask to retrieve his mask from his vehicle and let him know that he would be happy to help him once he had his mask. The customer said "oops!" covered his face with his shirt immediately and left the store to get his mask. He returned moments later with his mask and life went on. This is the way. Placed an order about 2 hours ago for pickup, we hadn't received an email with a pickup confirmation but decided to drive up and see if the items were in stock because according to the web they had more than 5 & if it were true, we had decided to buy them there on the spot rather than wait more hours because we needed them right away. Right when we were pulling up to the store we got an order cancellation email. Upon walking in to the store I asked jarrad why the order was deleted & he proceeded to say that he wasn't sure why it was cancelled. He seemed to be a new associate and asked jossue for redirection on how to pull up the order number on the system and asked us if we were at the wrong store when we clearly weren't. The items were 100% IN STOCK, when we showed up it was 9:30pm, 30 minutes until closing. I asked if they had just cancelled it because they were about to close but either of them didn't know what to say. If the items weren't in stock I would understand as to why it was cancelled , I would hate to believe that they would just want to cancel instead of finalizing an order without any validation or reason, but that's the feeling I got after talking to both of them. read more

I went to another autozone in town and needed to replace a battery on a car that wasn't mine. I asked for help and they offered me a certain battery but they didn't have it in stock. They called this store to make sure it was in stock and I headed across town to get it. When I got there I purchased the battery and waited for help to install. Jacqueline came out and immediately realized I'd been sold the wrong product (even when I questioned the shape of the battery when it was given to me). I was upset and went off on her unfairly... she was very patient and calm and brought me back inside and had another employee (Jarras I believe) check with her that she was indeed correct. They calmed me down and assured me it would be ok and took care of everything. I feel terrible for yelling at them, but they were so poised and calm the whole time. I went in this morning to replace my battery... Albert was very helpful. He tested my battery to make sure that's in fact what I needed and removed my old battery so that I was not charged the core. Frannkie (please forgive me if I spelled you name incorrectly) was also extremely helpful in installing my new battery and both provided excellent customer service. Now the manager Larry, well he seems like an alright person, but does not display the best supervisory skills. The skills to teach your employees how to better service customers. If you are irritated or need to switch out so be it don't be rude to your customers! Have some decency.
