Poor customer service. Not truthful. Poor workmanship. Do not honor their warranty. 3 other shops verified they made a mistake and they still blame other things that make no sense to try and get out of warranty. They don't follow customer needs.Typical little man syndrome while dealing with Mark and his son Brian. Cowardly behavior along with a broken used crank after 3 hours of use. I brought my 5.3L block over to them to get new cam bearings installed. They were nice and honest about the process and how it works being this was my first time ever doing this. They told me that they would have to clean the block and then install the bearings. I showed them the block and they said I did a good job cleaning the block and there was no need to pay for tub wash. Sure, they could of just said it still needed It but they didn't. They told me it would take a 2 days as they had some other stuff they had to get done, but one of their employees was free and knocked new bearings in for me right on the spot. 10 mins and I was out of there!! read more

When I first called inquiring about rebuilding my 351w, I was verbally told 4-6 weeks. Once I dropped it off (7/19/17), I was told 6-8 weeks. I'm a teacher so I can't talk on the phone during the day. I requested communication via email. Communication with Wayne's ranged from good at first to sporadic to nonexistent at the end. ---On 10/2/17, I did request and received a quote for the cost of the rebuild. However, I had questions and the quote and those questions were never answered. (At that point, I didn't even know what work had been done n the engine.) ---On 10/7/17, I received the last communication from them (3 months after dropping the block off) telling me that block has been machined. ---On 10/21/17, I emailed them telling that they were obviously too busy for me and that I was going to pick up the block and take it someplace else. I asked them to tell me when I could do this. I never heard a response. ---On 10/27/17, I called them and told them that I would pick up the engine on 10/30/17. All he said was OK. No apology, no explanation, nothing.When I arrived to pick it up, they charged me $195. I can't speak for the quality of their work because I honestly don't know. I can only speak about their communication and customer service. I still can't believe I was charged. 3 1/2 months from beginning to end. read more

Their work might be good if they were willing to give our engine back from the mechanic who took it in and then failed to pay up. We were willing to pay Wayne's for the work they did (for which we had already paid the mechanic) and have them finish it. But they said we had to pay the mechanic's entire bill which included work for another customer! Terrible customer service & ethics! So now they have our $5k motor and can sell it and make a huge profit on our behalf and we are without an engine. read more

Dropped off a 454 for a rebuild before a cross country move due to military orders. When I picked up the engine, my expensive steel core blue rubber oil pan gasket (brand new) was replaced with black sealant. I thought nothing of it and wasn't worried about it if it held oil. One week before my move, my father in law noticed a decent sized puddle of oil under the truck. Sure enough, the oil pan was leaking front and back but I was too close to my departure to worry about it. When I got here to Washington I tried to remove the pan and it wouldn't come off...THE BLACK SEALANT WAS SO THICK THAT EVEN WITH A RAZOR BLADE CUTTING IN, IT WOULDN'T COME OFF. At this point the oil spots were getting large and the engine has only 3200 miles on it. I just pulled the engine to get the oil pan off and pretty much had to ruin the pan. Upon further inspection the rear main is also leaking already...go figure. I also had a problem with the balancing they did. My engine is externally balanced and the balancer they put on the flex plate is so thick, it hits my inspection cover. read more

Beware: Had Wayne's rebuild a Pontiac V6 3800 engine. It took about three weeks, but that wasn't the problem. I spent over $4,000.00 to correct shoddy workmanship. Total engine failure in only 60 miles driven. It took Marc, from Wayne's, three weeks to come and inspect vehicle at our mechanic's shop, only to have him give excuses and blaming others. I paid again to have the engine removed and took it back to Wayne's. Two weeks later I went to check on progress and was told that they were going to disassemble the engine and pistons to be sent to manufacturer. One week later I was told by Marc that the converter and transmission caused crankshaft failure and piston death, and that I would have to pay as my warranty did not cover crankshaft. At this point, I removed that old engine from Wayne's as I had lost confident in them. I had a GM Good-wrench engine installed with the same converter and transmission, that were new at the same time as the engine was rebuild by Wayne's. I had the old engine checked by three engine companies, and all said basically the same, "Lack of assembly lubrication and shoddy workmanship causing bearings and pistons failure". Please be aware of this place. I had them rebuild my cylinder head. I thought they did a good job on it but when I had a chance to put it together in my car. My car started to leak oil bad, when I looked at it they forgot to put cam seal on my cams . I understand installing old one is better than not installing one. If you have no knowledge of little knowledge my advice is to take it somewhere else. If you have no clue what they install and it just say on the receipt that they replace these parts and not installing it. read more

Had my engine rebuilt here. When I received it the oil pan was replaced with a rusty one (the old oil pan was damaged prior to the rebuild). They hid the rust by painting it. When I wanted to get the oil pan replaced they were rude. They then said they would look for an oil pan but took close to three months with no results. I then had to personally hunt down a clean used oil pan in order to get the job done. So not only did I have to pay the rebuild but pay an additional amount for something they had to have already done. This shop does not pay attention to detail and has piss poor customer service, I did not get what I paid for! This place sucks donkey balls! Never again! read more

So about a year ago I had my 350 chevy roller block engine rebuilt there so far no complaints. The price was reasonable the customer service was great as well. It took about 2 weeks in total but so far so good in my 1957 chevy panel truck. I have no complaints. read more

Dropped off a cylinder head for valve job. It was returned to me in pieces. Was not told ahead of time that lifters and rockers would not be installed when returned. They told me it would cost an additional $200 to install new lifters. Will never use this shop again. Very disappointed. read more
