Right before closing, it was a race to the door between me trying to open the door and the employee trying to lock the door. The employee won. Another employee quickly rushed to the door realizing that the other employee had screwed up and made a disastrous customer relations mistake. He unlocked and opened the door. He apologized and told me the reopening time in the morning. I thanked him and said, "I'm glad you came out because the other employee locked the door in my face." Earlier in the year I had a polar opposite experience with a different employee who couldn't have been nicer or more pleasant to work with. Therefore this review is an average of the two experiences. There were two workers visible when we entered the store and one was assisting two customers. The other one didn't even bother to acknowledge us. I came in for an air filter. Looked up my car on the app and found the right one and made it to stand a lien and still nothing. Like we weren't even there. I've been shopping at AutoZone for years and they do have some good deals on their combos such as oil and filter sales which often even include a cabin filter. The store has an extensive air filter and oil filter selection featuring the K&N upscale brands. However, the brand I prefer, which is not sold here is the Wix brand. They have a large selection of wiper blades, however, they are all very expensive, you can find a better deal at Walmart. And I should mention that car batteries, oil and auto accessories are usually cheaper at Walmart than here, however, Walmart tends not to have much on the shelf which means you'll be back here. The store does offer free battery testing and charging and they do have a rewards program. I would stress that if you have a very complex electrical part, you're better off paying the dealer price because what you might get here could be made in China or Taiwan which could do more harm than good. So check where the part is made before you purchase it. And for that matter, if you don't find the part here, there is an O'Reillys just across the street. read more

Terrible, terrible AutoZone. I went by this auto zone one night to check on my battery. It had died a few hours earlier while I was getting an oil change. I called ahead of time anticipating getting there 1 1/2 hours before they closed. I wanted to know if checking my battery and potentially buying and having them install it, would be ok so late. The guy over the phone was rude. Older gentleman. He answered my questions but didn't seem too thrilled about it. I went anyway about 7:45 pm on a Saturday night. I'd bought my previous battery from autozone in another city so going to autozone late notice was my 1st thought. I arrived and two gentleman from what I could see were running the store at the time. Both older guys. One was outside smoking a cigarette, the other inside. I went in and the guy at the counter was the guy I'd spoken to earlier over the phone. He said he'd do a battery check first. The guy that was outside was the one to do that. We opened my hood. He proceeded to still have a cigarette lit and in his mouth while doing this, still smoking. My kids were in the car, I had the drivers side door open. I thought to myself "he could at least put that out while he does this" but I figured he was on his break and still helping me so I guess. He ran the check on my battery and said my battery was at 100%. That I probably needed to clean the slight corrosion off of one of the mounts to get a better connection. I asked if they had anything in store to do so. He pointed to the battery and told me to take this bolt off, pour coke on this, clean it off, tighten it back up. He said good luck, put out his cigarette and walked into the store. I left without buying anything. I went across the street to O'Reilys and got the help I needed. My battery was good but was at the end of its life according to their checks. The guy there helped me clean that corrosion. He noted he didn't think it was that small bit of corrosion but the battery. I will not go back to that AutoZone. read more

Will likely never return to this Autozone. I went in to purchase a lightbulb for my headlight and was given the wrong bulb. When I returned the second time to exchange the item for the correct one, I already had the bulb from my car in my hand along with the one previously purchased, I was ostracized by an employee named Bob M. Bob insisted that I open my hood so he could check the bulb that wasn't functioning because he didn't think I had the correct one and wasn't mistakenly given the wrong size during my first visit. I explained I had the bulb in hand and the size didn't match. My car uses an H-9 and I was sold an H-11. Bob began to raise his voice at me and demand I open the hood of my car, multiple times I said it wasn't necessary because I already had the bulb in-hand. Bob then printed the back of a blank receipt and pushed the paper across and said, "read this". I then requested to speak to a manager, and Carleton R. stepped in. I asked if I could please exchange the bulb for the correct one, and both individuals said I needed my receipt. I said I couldn't remember if I was given one, but I could show them the transaction on my bank card, I was denied an exchange. I advised Carleton I was going to check my car. During the entire exchange with Carleton, Bob continued to talk over me and demanding I open the hood of my car, increasingly raising his voice to which others around us were turning around and staring, and other employees came by to check on the matter. As I went to my car, Bob followed me out and demanded AGAIN, "open your hood and turn on your lights!" I ignored Bob because he was completely disrespectful in the manner he was speaking to me. As I looked through my work bag, I opened the hood so Bob could stop yelling repeating to open the hood. Bob stood in front of my car with his arms crossed yelling "turn on your lights! I said turn on your lights!" After a few minutes, I was able to locate my receipt and was locking my car when I asked Bob to please move to the side so I could close my car and the hood, to which he yelled, "Turn on your lights so I can check which bulb is out!!" I told Bob it wouldn't make a difference because I had the light bulb disconnected and in my hand. I knew which light bulb it was because a DPS State Trooper had just issued out a warning 2 days prior and showed which light bulb it was to begin with. I asked Bob to please exchange the bulb and he yelled "I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING! YOU'RE SUCH A xxxx!" He then walked inside the store. The family next to my car all turned around and were staring as the entire exchange occurred. Needless to say that I was completely humiliated by Bob's lack of respect and his demeanor. Bob was unprofessional, patronizing and clearly not capable of controlling himself when communicating with others. I'm not sure if it was because I'm a woman, or Hispanic or what his issue was, but the humiliation I felt was enough for me to request a refund and drive across the street to O'Reilly's and get the help I needed. I will never return to Autozone. Terrible customer service with a terrible employee. Bob M. This place came recommended by a car wash. The parking lot needed some cleaning. I went there thinking I needed a retainer, and there was a girl there who couldn't help me and suggested to ask Tyler. Tyler helped me reuse my retainer. He also suggested that I use auto body duck tape and my auto looks almost perfect. Great place to get your auto care needs whether you're doing repairs, maintenance or just a little extra TLC for your ride. They do have a rewards program but it's pretty tough for the regular Joe's to use the rewards. For mechanics and such who buy a lot weekly it'll pay off but it's not a great return on what you spend to get it. read more

Wow. Really awesome experience here. Needed to replace my car battery on my 2010 Honda Fit. The service rep went way above and beyond my expectations. I just came to buy a battery to install myself. But it was my first time doing this, so I asked if it was easy to install. The guy said, "yeah it's really easy. In fact, Since I've got a minute I'll just do it for you if you want." It would've cost me $70 to get this installed the national tire and battery. But this guy didn't ask for anything. You can't come to a parts store -- especially a national chain like this -- and expect something like this, even if they've done it for you or someone else before. I had the extreme pleasure of being assisted by a manager named Rene at this location today. I was really bummed when I discovered my car battery had died while I was on vacation. I had it jumped and then took it to auto zone. Rene checked my battery and not only confirmed it was my battery but made sure to show me the readout so I felt comfortable with his assessment. Then after encouraging me to stay inside while he changed out my battery in the blistering heat he asked me to come outside and he explained everything I needed to know about my new battery in relation to my specific car. Vehicle batteries don't survive long in Texas. After 6 years, I needed a new battery. Upon my co-worker's recommendation, I went to Autozone on AW Grimes in Round Rock. I was greeted by Corry, in the parking lot, as he was working on uninstalling a battery. I knew which battery I wanted, but Corry still asked questions about my vehicle and made suggestions that were not an upsell. I ultimately purchased the one I intended on buying, which happened to be his first choice as well. He also uninstalled the old one and installed the new one. Corry is courteous, polite, and efficient. I could see he put extra effort in ensuring his safety while working on my vehicle. I would avoid this particular autozone if possible. Their service was extremely awful today. I stopped in for a quick diagnostic after my check engine light came on. The man working there wouldn't say a word to me until in the parking lot and he had to- and then he was incredibly condescending. He def let me know my request was an inconvenience, then proceeded to tell me he couldn't do a diagnostic, turned and went back into the store. No explanation, no suggestion, no goodbye. Perhaps the inability to do a diagnostic was legit, but his customer service skills were not. read more

Second to none in automotive parts customer service. I was literally coasting in there on the afternoon of 11-2-19 riding on my battery only. I got a needed alternator at an awesome price. I know because I shopped it on my cell phone from there at the location and they were 1/2 the price as their local competitors. But I am yelpin' here to voice a well deserved shout to the management and staff at this location. Joshua Marks is an asset to the Auto Zone Company. From the first minute he was their for me, from offering his knowledge and assistance with meter testing and needed tools to remove my alternator, all the way thru to the very end. My VW rear indicator light was dead, and I went over and they not only helped me find the right replacement bulb but Corry even changed it for me, gratis. There was an issue with re-attaching the lamp and Corry and his co-worker went to great lengths to make sure it was fixed in securely before I got back on the road. I have visited this store previously for parts and receive marginal service considering the limited staff and overwhelming demand. This time, my battery would no longer hold a charge so I stopped to have it checked. Michael B. promptly tested my battery and determined that without further tests, he could not fail it out-right. After attempting to charge it, he determined that it indeed needed replacement after-all. Michael was pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and most importantly honest.
