We had a 2017 Nissan Sentra towed to this location for a clutch replacement. A certain price was given twice by two different people (the manager Eddie and his assistant), only for 600 extra dollars to be added to the total price on the day of pickup with no explanation until we arrive in person. We had many repairs done to the car at other repair shops for different issues right before we contacted Aamco, and we hadn't experienced a situation like this. I fully understand things happen & price could potentially increase as progress is being made towards the repair(s), and the labor cost included. Clutches are costly to replace, and the shop gets busy, we're not the only customers. I get it, but this felt deceitful. It's just disappointing to not be updated and blindsided by over half a thousand dollars extra cost upon pickup. We did speak with Eddie about this, he seemed polite, and understood. He explained the increase & apologized for not keeping us updated. He even gave us an offer for a free oil change in the future, which we won't be going back for, unfortunately. He's very efficient and reliable. He take's the time to show you and walk you through what exactly is going on, why its broken or wrong, and what exactly he is going to do to fix it and how it benefits your vehicle. Just listening to his explanations of automotive jargon makes me sense his passion for it as well as his trustworthiness. It's a small operation, just him and his wife I believe, but they handle all sorts of crazy jobs. I'll continue to use him as long as he's in business.

The little touches that made them stand out are gone. They no longer provide a complimentary car wash after service, they let go of the driver who used to take customers home, and none of the management team that was there last year is still there. The entire atmosphere of the shop has changed, and not for the better. I explained to Fernando, the general manager, that my vehicle had mostly been sitting in my garage since July and that I wanted a routine service along with an inspection of a specific issue I had asked them to evaluate. Instead, I was sent an estimate for nearly $5,700 that didn't even address the repairs I specifically brought the car in for. Several items were marked as "critical," and the estimate instructed me to call with any questions. When I called to review the estimate, Fernando immediately responded, "Didn't you get the report I sent?" I explained that I had, but I'm not a mechanic and wanted someone to explain what the findings actually meant. He told me I needed both my front and rear suspension replaced because of the control arms. However, when I pointed out that the inspection report only said the manufacturer recommended the rear suspension and didn't identify it as a problem, he suddenly backed off and said it wasn't necessary at this time. The conversation became increasingly frustrating. His tone was pushy, dismissive, and argumentative. He accused me of having the vehicle serviced somewhere else in November and implied I hadn't maintained it properly. I explained that the car had been sitting in my garage from July until March and that the only reason it was seen elsewhere was because the battery died and needed to be replaced. He then insisted that I had been driving the car extensively because it had accumulated 2,000 miles. I had to explain that those 2,000 miles were driven over an entire year, which is actually very low mileage. At that point, I realized I was arguing with the person inspecting my car about facts that he could easily verify from the service records. That was enough for me. I sent the inspection report and estimate to a trusted friend who is an experienced mechanic in another state. He immediately told me that the quoted prices were roughly double what they should be and advised me not to have the work done there. I have since found another mechanic who treated me with respect, took the time to explain what my car actually needs and quoted much more reasonable prices.

The speedometer going up and down from 20-70 and greats panel displaying automatic shifting from Park to Drive to Reverse. Didn't even make home, we just took back. Now they refuse to honor their warranty or their own diagnostic which are not free. The A/C clutch relay was bad. A simple (and relatively inexpensive) fix! But wait, there's more! I was also told the newly installed alternator wasn't operating within spec and the battery that I had replaced had a weak reserve capacity. After I learned the main issue with my vehicle had been missed by Big Brand, and the new alternator and battery they installed were possibly as necessary as six fingers on my right hand, I decided to have the dealership replace the parts for me. The DM of Big Brand tried to contact me after my previous update (about the DM not contacting me) and Big Brand has made a call or two to my phone. At this point, I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable with handing them my keys again. "Luciano S" left two 5 Star reviews for Big Brand on Yelp. Coincidentally, the DM for Big Brand in my area is also a "Luciano S." The day after I bought it, I discovered a rock chip in the windshield. I went back to my salesman, Devin Padgett, to see if Desert Toyota could help since I had just purchased the truck. Devin brought service advisor Jackie Dubin over to look at it. Jackie immediately assessed the damage and told Devin to get approval from his manager to replace the windshield. The approval was given, and Jackie handled the appointment from there. When I brought the truck in, Jackie took my contact information and told me it would take about three hours. The service department was incredibly busy--there were 20+ vehicles waiting--yet Jackie managed everything extremely well. She even gave me a complimentary breakfast coupon while I waited in their large, comfortable lounge. The truck was taken into the repair area, the windshield was replaced, and the necessary calibration was completed. The entire job was finished in less than the three hours Jackie had estimated, and everything has worked perfectly ever since. What impressed me most was that Jackie was straightforward, professional, communicated well, and delivered exactly what she promised--and actually a little faster than promised. I've only dealt with Jackie a couple of times so far, but based on this experience, she will be the service advisor I ask for when my Tundra needs service in the future.
