This experience has been bugging me for over a week, so I had to express myself here. This was our first-time doing business with Aamco. We had a 2017 Nissan Sentra towed to this location for a clutch replacement. A certain price was given twice by two different people (the manager Eddie and his assistant), only for 600 extra dollars to be added to the total price on the day of pickup with no explanation until we arrive in person. We had many repairs done to the car at other repair shops for different issues right before we contacted Aamco, and we hadn't experienced a situation like this. I fully understand things happen & price could potentially increase as progress is being made towards the repair(s), and the labor cost included. Clutches are costly to replace, and the shop gets busy, we're not the only customers. I get it, but this felt deceitful. It's just disappointing to not be updated and blindsided by over half a thousand dollars extra cost upon pickup. We did speak with Eddie about this, he seemed polite, and understood. He explained the increase & apologized for not keeping us updated. He even gave us an offer for a free oil change in the future, which we won't be going back for, unfortunately. Where to begin. This place is the stereotypical mechanic ripoff congame. I did not think that the bait and switch still existed in America but I found out differently from this joint. I called to get an estimate for a clutch replacement and asked them to quote me the worst case scenario price and they gave me a quote of 1300 dollars. I said I'll bring in my car and let them do it. After spending 83 dollars to a tow to get there I was callled the next morning and was told the price was now 2400 dollars I don't know what could have happened over night to more than double the quote but I avoided an argument and said I would pickup my car. DO NOT TRUST THESE CON ARTISTS. BAIT AND SWITCH IS ILLEGAL AND UNETHICAL. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE MECHANICS A BAD REPUTATION I hope this helps someone avoid being their next victim. read more

After Aamco responded and I talked with them and picked up the car I am editing my review. Not everything in their response makes sense. I am happy with the work that was done. I am still not happy that "what they expected" was $1000 more than the starting price. If it was "what they expected" why couldn't they tell the customer so I could make a better I formed decision up front? In the end the price was about $300 less and that helps me to feel a little better. I have the car back it has driven 1600 miles no problems. And I have the only warranty that works nationwide. This is why I came to Aamco in the first place. Here is the original review: I came to Aamco because of the nationwide warranty. They told me it "starts at $1900 and goes up from there." As we I asked more questions to get an idea of what to expect and I was told "the only things that make it go up much are 'hard' parts needing to be replaced, that we don't expect to be needed here" I authorized the work to start and after it was pulled out and disassembled today they called and told me "it is what we expected. Just the clutch plated and the rear planetary need replaced" so the cost $2900+! (Just for trans plus $300++ for the brakes) I wish I made as much money as these guys do so that $1000 extra is not much! Notice the only work that needs to be done is "what we expected" not the "hard" parts that are what makes the price go up much. I need the trans fixed and if they had been more transparent about costs I could have made a more informed decision for my daughter. The car is definitely worth $1900 of work. $2900?!?! Not so much. So I am sure the work is going to be good and it is the best warranty I can get for this work. I should have asked them what "much" means. I was trying to get as much specific information as possible and I let that vague word slip in that is my mistake. The work is not finished yet so I can't review that yet but I can only recommend so far based on the warranty. I am very disappointed with aamco. read more

Watch out for these guys, today I was ripped off. A transmission fluid replacement, oil pan gasket replacement and oil change cost me almost $600. I was quoted one price on the phone but the bill they handed me was about $150 more. I was told the manager would contact me as a follow up, but no call has been received. Did a good job on changing my tranny fluid on my Toyota Camary. But price over the phone was less then what I paid.

I had the transmission replaced in my classic truck at another shop. It was not shifting right and I took it to AAMCO they took care of the issue and it now drives like a whole new truck. This place is bad , they messed up my transmission AND tried to sell me a bunch of stuff i didn't need (scammers) and tried to even sell me stuff THEY MESSED UP. Took it to some real mechanics and they did it up perfectly. If i had more proof id sue them. Last Friday evening, the Check Engine line came on in my car. I'm from Pittsburgh and staying about 50 miles outside Tucson. I had to go into the city the next day to see my daughter. On Saturday morning, I made an appointment at AAMCO. By the time I got there, the engine was making a terrible racket and the car smelled of oil. Within a few minutes, they diagnosed the problem as a broken spark plug. They put in new spark plugs and got the car ready to go back on the road. It took only an hour. The next day, I checked with a friend in Pittsburgh who owns a garage, and he said the price I was charged was very reasonable. I recommend this AAMCO shop highly. read more

I had a complete rebuild of my transmission, the transmission never worked correctly since they worked on my vehicle, they caused extensive damage to my vehicle and they refused to pay the repair costs. Let the customer beware at this business because they will use their insurance company to review any damage they cause and of course the insurance company will deny the claim. You will be out thousands of dollars and still have to pay for the repair that they did to your vehicle even though the vehicle is inoperable from their negligence. read more

Went here on a friends recommendation and found the shop to be small but experienced. Ron the owner is very friendly and very knowledgeable in car repairs. He found a problem with my vehicle that while not immediately needing repair said we should schedule an appointment to get it fixed. I will shop the price around just to make sure that the repair price is fair. If you need your vehicle "Today" this is not the shop to go to since they do a lot of business and have a very limited amount of techs. I highly recommend calling in to see what they can do for you.
