A POOR COLLEGE STUDENT GETS SWINDLED BY BRADFORD AUTO…read more A Brief History of My Experience with Bradford Auto 1. He tried to charge me 66% more than I was originally quoted 2. They held my car for a whole month 3. The transmission still grinds in first gear even though they rebuilt it 4. My battery was stolen from their garage by an employee 5. They slapped a new clutch in without asking me if I wanted/needed it 6. They chipped my windshield and refused to compensate me or replace it 7. I was still charged over $2000 despite all of this I was driving home from a family reunion in July when my transmission on my 2007 Toyota Corolla went out. I knew that a transmission was not going to be cheap so I called all around Provo valley to get quotes. Most places said about $2000 not including labor so when Bradford Auto told me $1500, I figured that was the best I could find. I took my car into Bradford Auto and they said they would look at it and see if they should rebuild the transmission or just replace it. Bradford called me a couple days later after looking at the transmission and told me that they would rebuild it and that that would save me some money (lies). However they said they needed parts and that I would have to wait. I figured a week, maybe two at most and I said that was fine. It ended up being over a month. I called weekly to see what was happening and was told that they got sent the wrong parts. I waited all the way to the end of August and finally got a call that said the car was ready for pickup. I asked how much I would have to pay and was told $2500. Now if you just do some quick and easy math you can see that Bradford was asking $1000 more than he originally quoted me. That is of the original price he quoted me. I could understand $1700 or even $1800 with labor and parts but a full 66% more was ridiculous. I pointed out that he told me $1500 and he said that he wrote down $2000 as the quote and that with labor and parts it would bring it up to $2500. That was not what he told me originally. Then he said he would cut me some slack on labor and only charge me $2000, still more than I estimated based on the quote I was given. He then told me they replaced the clutch as well because it was on warranty and that I was getting a deal. However there was nothing wrong with the clutch, just the transmission. I did not request, nor was I given the opportunity to deny the clutch being replaced. Now, since we talked about the quote over phone and I did not get it written down originally I could not debate much on original pricing and what he now claimed I owed him. I at least talked him down to $2000 which was more than I expected but better than $2500. I resigned myself to this and headed in to pick up my car. When I arrived I was told that it would be $145 extra for tax, fine, and that they threw in a free battery too, which again I didn't ask for. He said they threw in the free battery because one of his employees walked out with mine.......what? Don't worry it gets better. I paid the man and left hoping it was over. It was not. The first gear was grinding randomly. I also noticed that my windshield had new chips in it. So I brought it back into Bradford and pointed these things out. I even showed the transmission guy how the car grinded in first. They said they would check out the noise and let me know. When I asked about the new cracks in the windshield Bradford told me I was just "assuming" it was them. He told me he would give me a new windshield at cost but that it was not their fault. Oh and they gave my car back and it still grinds in first gear randomly. They said stuff is just settling......what? So what did we learn? BRADFORD AUTO IS A SCAM. They quote you low, get you in there, work on things without asking, and then charge you way more than they quoted. Tip: Make sure you get the original quote in writing or recorded so that what happened to me won't happen to you. DON'T GO TO BRADFORD

I brought my Subaru here for a tire install and a wheel alignment. Unfortunately, the technician…read moredid a completely rushed and negligent job. When they handed me the car back, my steering wheel was turned sideways/crooked, and the technician had handwritten "not adjustable" next to my front right camber specification and claiming rear left toe was maxed out. Knowing that Subarus have factory camber adjustment bolts, I took my vehicle to a specialized mechanic shop for a second opinion. They put it on their diagnostic rack for free and confirmed my suspension was 100% healthy. The only reason the alignment numbers looked "maxed out" was because the Discount Tire technician failed to center and lock my steering wheel straight before starting the alignment. I had to drive back to Discount Tire to demand they fix their mistake. They put it back on the rack and magically got all the numbers perfectly into the green zone using the factory adjustments. To make matters worse, the same technician who did the lazy work asked me, "Did I say the camber couldn't be adjusted?" When I pointed out his own handwriting on the paper, he admitted, "Oh yeah, I didn't even look at it." Crazy. It is completely unacceptable for a paying customer to have hours of their time wasted because a technician admits they didn't even look at the factory adjustments. Stay away from this location or check your alignment sheets and car closely.

Customer service here is terrible…read more From the moment I walked in, I wasn't greeted and was immediately spoken to rudely. I explained exactly what I needed and even mentioned I've worked in the tire industry for 2 years, yet I was still questioned and pressured on my own specifications. I waited over an hour for a simple flat tire replacement. During that time, I asked an employee to grab something from my car he "forgot," and I had to ask again later as there were multiple times he wasn't even busy. After all that waiting, they finally brought my car in, only to refuse service due to a stripped lug nut, That part is understandable. What's not understandable is them trying to pressure me into still buying the tire even after refusing to install it and wasting my time. When I pushed to cancel everything, the "manager" told me he could technically still charge me for installation since the tire was already on the rim, and that I'd have to pay for installation even if I didn't get the tire but he was going to "let it slide." That's not how you handle customers. To top it off, when I went outside to get my car, that same "manager" came up holding a broken plastic piece from my door handle and said, "sorry, I broke it can you take it out for me." No accountability, no real apology. At that point, it felt like the situation was handled out of ego, and frustration rather than professionalism, especially after I pushed back on being charged, not surprised. If customer service matters at all, this damage should be addressed and paid for. I won't be coming back.
