They kept my vehicle--and kept me in a brand-new loaner--until the issue was fully resolved. It took several months, including a master service call directly to German engineers. Throughout the entire process, communication was stellar. I received regular updates, had a long, reassuring conversation with the Service Director, and was even invited to talk through the mechanics directly with the technician working on my car. It was already late in the day, 5 PM, and I was worried about the rain. I drove it to Herson's KIA, where I bought it and since it was so late in the day they would have to address it the next day. They re-assurred me that they would keep my car in indoors in case it rained which was a relief. This morning, I received a message from the service advisor, Brian Cuello that it was in fact the gasket which was dried out due to the recent extreme heat and that was the only issue. Herson's covered it under warranty, lubed and reinstalled the window and he even arranged for a ride pick-up to help me get back to their shop. Extremely Disappointed - Not Transparent and Ghosted After Signing…read more I want to caution anyone purchasing a vehicle from this Subaru dealership in Silver Spring to be extremely careful regarding their extended warranties and add-on services. While they are incredibly pleasant and helpful when you are in the process of purchasing, they ghost you when seeking agreement information after you sign the paperwork. When we finalized our purchase, they handed us a USB stick and told us it contained all the information about our additional coverage. It did not. I have reached out multiple times to multiple people--including following up with our finance representatives and even copying the General Manager, Eddie Sarecky--seeking the actual terms of the services we purchased. We have received absolutely zero response. My family and I are long-time Subaru brand loyalists, which makes this experience incredibly disappointing. We fully accept that the dealership and the finance manager make a considerable commission on these add-on products. We do not begrudge them making a living, but we absolutely expect basic transparency and customer service in return. It is completely unacceptable to ignore a customer who has already paid for a service and is simply trying to get the terms of what they bought. Do not leave this dealership without printed physical copies of every single contract and term sheet, because once you walk out the door, you will be ignored.

I also continued to bring my car here for oil changes and maintenance and appreciated the waiting area (always stocked with coffee and snacks) and good service. Once or twice I've had to wait longer than expected but it was easy to check in with the associates at the counter for updates (and I had brought plenty of work to do). I also discovered in the waiting area some heart-shaped postcards on which you can write a brief message for cancer patients...thought that was pretty cool and enjoyed writing a few encouraging notes.

He told me the check engine light was because of a defective oxygen sensor and the noise was because of a bad wheel bearing on the driver side tire. Nothing that he did fixed either of these problems. The noise never went away and the check engine light came back. I took my car to Firestone this morning. I should have gone there first. Instead of wasting $500 at his shop. Firestone discovered that the noise was actually being caused by a bad wheel bearing on the right side (passenger side). Additionally they found that the check engine light was being caused by a bad intake manifold in the engine. So this man who claims to be a mechanic incorrectly diagnosed the problem and fixed something that probably didn't need to be fixed. All so he could get paid. That is such an incredibly short sighted attitude for a businessman. Now I know he's a liar and a cheat. In addition to being a very bad mechanic. DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN. Like many private mechanics he will do anything to get paid. Even if it means lying or inventing a problem to fix.

The location itself is top tier. Super convenient and easy to get to, especially compared to some of these random dealerships way out in the cut. But unfortunately, convenience can only carry a place so far. The service department has always moved at turtle speed. The wait times are honestly ridiculous. And of course, nothing here is cheap. BMW service prices are already painful, but I used to tolerate it because the quality at least matched the price tag. Lately though? The little details are disappearing, and that's what worries me. Basic things like topping off the windshield washer fluid, properly washing the car, or even doing a decent vacuum job are being skipped or half done. If corners are being cut on the obvious stuff I can see, it makes me question what's happening with the actual maintenance and repairs I can't see. At this point, I genuinely have PTSD dealing with BMW service departments. Every visit feels like stress, confusion, waiting, and wondering whether you're really getting what you paid for. SMH.
