I was greeted by Jose once I stepped in. He was professional and courteous, while still keeping it casual and conversational. I needed a battery replacement and he came out to run the free battery test that AutoZone advertises. The test confirmed I needed a new battery, which I knew already because I had been jumping my car for the last month. He rang me up for the 3-year battery and recommended some anti-corrosion pads, which were like $4. While I was at the register Isaac was already outside removing the old battery. By the time Jose brought the battery to Isaac, he had already removed the old one. The new one was installed in about 3 minutes and I was at the shop for 15 minutes total, from the time I pulled up to the time I pulled out. Jose and Isaac were awesome to work with, really kind and knowledgeable. This is what customer service is supposed to be like. I'll be back here for my future needs and it's really all because of them. I highly recommend you get your car needs met here. And make sure to call them to ask when they will have enough staff to install your battery. They get busy and sometimes if they are understaffed, understandably they are unable to help. read more

have never ever had a bad experience at Autozone. It is not a dirty store nor are any of the employees nasty or ignorant. And before you leave a racist review about someone..ie...the Mexican with the glasses and worn out tattoos, you should chose your words more carefully. I've had issues in the past with this location, but figured I'd give them another chance. As soon as I walked into the store, I heard nothing but F bombs from one employee to another. It wasn't an argument. Just a typical conversation. I looked around and noticed there was a couple shopping along with another individual. Being in a customer facing role myself, I was absolutely shocked that the language didn't change once customers were in the store. With poor customer service in the past, not being acknowledged and resorting to figuring out myself, and the explicit language with no regard to the customers, I will no longer shop here. Mind you the employee using the language was wearing a gray shirt which I believe indicates he is a manager. I'll happily be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The sales guy, Carl, that helped me look up my vehicle's battery type and the date that the last batter was installed (same location) was awesome. I asked if Carl could install the battery (so I didn't have to make a 2nd trip to return the old battery for the $22 core credit) and he first took a look at the currently installed battery to make sure he could easily do it before committing to do it. However, the only other sales person in the store was already helping another customer outside so Carl asked a younger employee (in a red shirt) if he was familiar with changing the battery. And he said that he was. Carl got the tools that would be needed and explained the process to the young man. When we got outside that's when things started to go wrong. The employee had difficulty getting the nuts off the battery retaining bracket, but he got them off, it just took a little while. Next when he tried to get the nuts off the battery terminals, he couldn't get the socket wrench on the nuts. So he proceeded to go back into the store. In the mean time, I picked up the socket wrench and had them off in less than a minute (the employee comes back with a different socket, but we didn't need that now). The employee takes the old battery out, and puts in the new one, but one of the battery retaining clips slides over to a place that was a tight squeeze to get to. Instead of using something like a magnet to get the retaining clip, he dislodges it and tries to push it down so it would fall out and onto the pavement. Guess what, it gets stuck some place inside the engine compartment where neither of us can see it. He goes to get Carl who is still busy, and tell him to finish up installing the battery and that he'll come out while he can. So the guy continues... I had purchased "Terminal Protectors Washers" (i.e., felt washers for $3.49) and the guy had both of the terminal back on and was getting ready to start tightening them, I said, what about these? "Oh yeah I forgot," he then struggles to get the plastic bag open for a good minute, finally I opened it for him. He tightens up terminals and goes puts the "terminal protector goo" (some thick stuff with the consistency of petroleum jelly for $1.99) and he also could not get packaging open. So I had to open that too for him. I'm really trying to be patient and keep my cool, but I was reaching my limit. While we were waiting for Carl to come out and try to find/retrieve the battery retainer clip, I ask him if he was home from college for Christmas break, he said that he hadn't started college yet, but was planning on going to MIT to be a NASCAR engineer or something. I bit my tongue and nodded, thinking to myself, I hope you have a Plan B. Carl finally gets out, by this time 30 minutes had passed. Carl brings one of those magnets on a telescoping stick and after about another 2 or 3 minutes finally fishes the battery retainer clip out. Hands it to my guy, who again struggles to get the nuts back on. So I ask him to let me do it. All in all, it would have been quicker (and less frustrating) for me to go back home and replace the battery myself and drive back to return the core. Moral of the story don't let a Red Shirt (Star Trek reference) help you... I've been to this particular location before and have had very satisfactory service, but stay away from the Red Shirt Guys, ha ha. Now I feel better, thanks Yelp. read more

Awesome customer service!! I stopped in for new wipers on a freezing and windy day and the guys in the shop were so helpful replacing my blades. They were really stuck on there and it took 2 people to get them off, even cutting one of the guys in a couple of different spots. He couldn't have been more kind, though. He didn't even mutter a curse word under his breath. I would have been swearing for sure! Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

Simply the best. Intelligent adult staff that are seasoned automotive professionals. Recently I bought some brake parts. (From...I wish I could remember his name). We had been chatting it up, and I find he had worked at some of the great old auto shops back in the day in the Franklin Park area. As he's ringing me up he asks if I needed brake fluid. Seems a simple question to ask. At my local "zone" they never do. This question that not only saved me a trip, but means to zone corporate types that the dollar per transaction increased! I'm an old time TrakAuto GM that's moved on to pension analysis...But I still enjoy meeting conscientious people that know what they're talking about and honestly love what they do. AutoZone Corporate...don't mess this location up by staffing it with warm bodied impersonal 20 something non-communicator hangers on waiting for their next interview for CFO. As for the one star woman below? More than likely you needed a head gasket, or a radiator which on today's complex vehicles is likely beyond the scope of your husband. If it were indeed a thermostat, your husband could simply remove the suspect thermostat and test it in a pot of boiling water. I've been around cars for 30 years. A bad thermostat these days is as common as a hen with teeth. Also, if your coolant system is boiling over, you would have exposed the employee and yourself to skin searing pain if any attempt was made to add water. This is not 1989. Coolant systems are closed. You would need to wait until the car was cold to add Anything. They are neither licensed to touch your car, or insured if they did. But I'm sure you are the non letigious type. Great staff and always willing to help. I just stopped by to purchase a battery after my battery went bad in my truck. I had a very good feeling the battery was the problem; however, I also had a small feeling it may be the alternator and a lot more cost involved. They put my mind at ease when they diagnosed my battery found it was a bad cell. They then helped me pick out the right replacement battery and helped me install it. I arrived at this Auto Zone with steam coming out from under my hood. I asked if I could get water for my radiator and if he could tell if I need to purchase a thermostat or anything for my husband to fix my car after I limp it home. The Manager Mark Meyer said "Lady we are not a service center, we can only check a Check Engine Light". Needless to say I will not return. read more

I went in to have my alternator check which was do very quick & at N/C. The gentleman who checked my car, John, was very helpful. He said my alternator was working fine and the batter was fine as well. We went back in the store and discussed what may be the issue for draining the battery. John mention to check to see if any lights were on as the switch may be faulty. I previously checked the lights and John said check the trunk light. I went out to my car and pulled out the truck light which was extremely hot. Sure enough it was the light switch. John helped me fix the problem and it cost me nothing. I stopped in because I noticed they were open late and I had a headlight out. John was extremely nice and helpful. He offered to change my bulb for me. Turns out all the wires were fried and a couple more dollars later, he's rewired my headlight so I won't have this problem again. If I need anything for my car, I will be coming back here.
