My car was having an issue starting so I went to Auto Zone to get my battery checked. The manager Victor S. went above and beyond to help me. He checked the battery and it was low so I purchased a new one because the one I had, the warranty had expired. Victor had no problem changing my battery and he also made sure to check my starter and alternator to make sure they were good as well. He did this while it was raining too. Beware when you buy batteries from Autozone. Their battery warranties are BS. I've purchased two different batteries that have died or very LOW charges to where I didn't know if I went out or if my car would start. I took it back to AutoZone for a warranty exchange and I was dragged through the Mudd and embarrassed at the counter going back and forth with the employee regarding charging it and what their policy is and they couldn't replace it. AutoZone Ain't the Same Without Victor. Man, I gotta say, this AutoZone just don't feel the same without Victor running things. Every time I used to come in, he made sure I got exactly what I needed, no hassle, no attitude--just real good customer service. I love AutoZones, the employees are ALWAYS so helpful! I had an event earlier right across the street and it was raining, so I took it as a sign for me to finally change my windshield wipers... this has been on my to-do list for the past 3 months. Dj is the only employee here that will help you. I can't comment on their customer service because there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE here. Most of the staff is Latino and like the previous reviews state if you are not, do not go there expecting any kind of assistance, which is really sad for a person of color to say about other POC. The manager went out of his way to ignore me and a simple battery test turned into one of the employees instructing me on how I could remove my Autozone Warranty covered battery and bring it inside to be tested. As you can tell by my rating, this is not one of my favorite AutoZone stores to visit... In fact, I usually try to get in and get out as quickly as possible. I could probably name a hundred things wrong with this location... but I choose to focus on the one that bothers me the most. The parking here SUCKS... The size of the parking lot is much smaller than most of the other AutoZones I've visited. I'm actually impressed when I manage to get out of there without someone damaging my vehicle. The last time I was here, somebody parked behind me and blocked me in... Do you think they moved their car when they saw me coming? lol Get real... Not in this neighborhood. Seems like you have to raise your voice to get any results around here. Just annoying. Thankfully the store did have the oil and filter I needed, so they earn an extra star for that... but to be frank, I just can't stand this place. I was in AutoZone at 4003 MLK bl and Western about 8:20 a.m. in there to buy antifreeze and oil for my car I tripped over a stick mind you I am a disabled senior citizen I am a female thank God there was a customer and the back of the store where I fell he yelled for employees one employee came he did not help the gentleman get me up. One of the employees in the store told me if I wasn't so fat I wouldn't have failed I am a disabled senior citizen and the manager of the store came to the back where I fell and started knocking things off the shelf mocking me from falling on the floor I am an African American senior citizen and the way I was treated in AutoZone was just outrageous no one asked me if I needed help if I needed for them to call the paramedics only thing they did was told me to get out of this store because one of the employees lied and said I hit them with the stick that was on the floor how can I hit someone with a stick that was on the floor and I never picked the stick up thank God there was a camera in the back of the store that saw everything I can't believe the way I was treated I felt discriminated against is being a woman number one being a black woman number two and being disabled number three I had to drive myself to the emergency room I fell on the hip that I had two hip surgeries on and I bruised my elbow really bad it was swollen I really hurt myself I have rheumatoid and osteo arthritis right now I am in severe pain I'm sorry to say that everyone in the store yesterday was Latino they showed me no respect at all I was discriminated against in my own neighborhood of 26 years . I wanted to let the community know I wouldn't recommend anybody shop there because you will get treated very badly.. this happened in Los Angeles. read more

Yesterday I went into the store to purchase some headlights for my vehicle, as I walked in I was approaching a young man on an aisle to ask a simple question and out of nowhere the manager ross I believe just comes in to cut me off in a rude manner and talk over his employee who was already helping me, Ross told me to get in line and I would be helped then. I had a simple question that the employee was already going to answer but I guess. I proceeded to make line and not even a minute later he was getting in an altercation with a lady who he also cut off as she only had a question for him. It's so bad that even some of the employees were talking about it at the front register. Other than this a fine young gentleman I believe Erick was his name provided me with excellent customer service when the METIDO man wasn't around. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first and last visit to this store. It gives the Auto Zone a bad rep. I usually try to get in and get out as quickly as possible. There were probably 5 employees working and besides shouting across the room to welcome you, that's all they do. 2. I asked to test my battery and alternator. I was told to go outside and wait with my hood open. No one came out for 30 minutes. I went in and waited for 20 more minutes. I was ignored until I finally asked again. I waited for another 10, a guy (who was rude) finally came out only tested my battery and said I needed a new one. After the horrible customer service, I did not want to purchase anything for that store, so I went to the North Hollywood location and asked them test my battery.....MY BATTERY WAS IN GREAT CONDITION! They guy lied to me here!!! I would have wasted my money getting a new battery if I believed him. DO NOT TRUST THEM! They are not trustworthy nor do they care. I usually offer to tip when Autozone offers this free service. I did not offer this time! read more
