Tom was kind, came out to look at my car (while it was raining). He then spent time online, and then on the phone with local distributors. He found the exact part I needed, and then Tom personally drove to pick it up from a distributor in Annapolis! I didn't know how to install it, so he came outside with me again, and spent 30 minutes with me and made sure it was installed perfectly. This type of service is so very rare and appreciated. Well, I found the oil I needed quickly but I was a little lost on which blades to choose. One of the guys could see the gears turning and offered to help me select my replacement blades. He was able to explain the four types of blades they carried and the features of each. Also, he also looked up the sizes I needed so I didn't have to thumb through the big book. My experience got even better here - As I was paying, the guy working offered to install my blades for me. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. He said, "Well, it will take me just a few seconds since I do it a lot and its freezing cold out there." Although I planned to do the install job in the warmth of my garage, I would have had to read the directions and reacquaint myself with my wiper anatomy (living in SoCal for 12 years I forgot what purpose windshield wipers served) - at least a ten minute job for me. So sure enough, it literally took him about 15 seconds to install my blades. I know that wiper blade installation isn't rocket science but customer service really seems to be a lost art but AutoZone has helped me remember what it's like to get great service.
