I was pressed for time and did not have the time investment to address this appropriately. However, as I researched Advance Auto return policy, I realized the associate and the supervisor provided inaccurate information and at worst simply treated me as an inconvenience. When I reached out to Chestertown Auto Parts/Marine, I was informed that Chestertown Goodyear would not honor any warranty because I didn't bring the broken down vehicle back to their shop. I was given a general Goodyear number to call for reimbursement, but was told since the Chestertown location was an independent Goodyear service center, I had to contact Chestertown again for assistance. I had a dreadful experience with David Barbarito, found out his last name on a bill, who treated me in a condensing, disrespectful manner not to mention misrepresenting himself with a false charge$357. On 2/2/26 I went into Firestone located at 1492 Annapolis Rd., Odenton Md. 21113 with a problem with my EVAC system. On that date I was charged $2012.00. I waited SIX hours while they completed the job. The area manager that day was Mr. Lerman, who informed me that the EVAC problem was fixed and "you are good to go." He was professional and courteous. I thanked him and left. On Monday 2/23/26 the evac check engine light came on AGAIN and I went back to Firestone on that day, spoke with Dave Barbarito, who introduced himself as a "visiting manager" as Ms. Roche, Manager was on vacation for the week and would return on Monday 3/2/26. Please note that Dave would not give me an agent ID or ANYTHING to identify himself. It was at this point that I noticed his condescending, misogynistic attitude. When I came back "Sam" told me that "only" the tech that originally attempted to fix it would repair my EVAC, there was no one else to do so. I was concerned because he did not repair my 1014 Jeep Cherokee initially and was assigned to "fix repair" again. When asked for his name, that originally did the job incorrectly, Sam would not provide me with his name. This was the first time I contacted Corp and was given a case #2954674. Later that day, I called again spoke to Mr. Lerman who stated that Mr. Tek (sp?) who was the original mechanic's supervisor and he would "fix the error" and to come in on Monday 2/23/26 @ 9:00 AM. My appointment on 2/23/26 at 9:00 AM for "Mr. Tek" to handle the repair. On 2/23/26, Mr "Tek" was 1 1/2 hours late for work and Dave refused to contact him and see what the problem was and I was told to "sit there and wait for him or leave" would not give me an ETA . I waited for 1 1/2 hours for Tek to arrive and I told Dave that I'd like to speak to him, when he did come on and was told by Dave, that "that won't happen, but feel free to sit and wait "endlessly". Was irritated that Sam gave me a false statement stating only the one/original mechanic could fix it. I was also told 3x that Mr. Dwight, Regional mgt would contact me and HAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED TO DO SO. When I came in on 2/23/25, Dave was irritated that I had found out about Mr. Tek and it was obvious the way he treated me. On 3/23/26 I waited FIVE hours and at the end of the day was told that there was NO PROBLEM with the EVAC (even though the code came up again) however Dave did diagnostics, and "discovered that" my catalytic convertor, left side was bad AND the right side "looked like it was headed the same way and "needed replacement" handing me a bill for $4300. I was taken aback by this and Dave immediately lowered the price to $4000, stating "I am your friend and will take care of this for you." PLEASE note that during the FIVE hours that I waited the EVAC system error WAS NEVER LOOKED, nor fixed and was told that system was fine. I left and immediately went to my private mechanic, Manny and Son's who ordered/installed a "PURGE VALVE" for $161, see attachment. When I came back to Firestone on Wednesday 3/25/25 Dave told me, once again in a condescending, misogynistic voice that "I told you Monday 3/23/26 that you needed a purge valve and had to order it "free of charge and stall it." FALSE STATMENT, Dave NEVER mentioned a Purge Valve and that he needed to order and install for no charge. I was amazed and said to him, "why would I go to my mechanic and pay for a purge valve and pay to have it installed if you had told me that?" He had no answer. They provided drinks for my boyfriend while he waited because it was so hot outside and even made calls to our towing company on our behalf when an issue arose with them. He got our car fixed as soon as he could and went above and beyond to check other working parts of the car without us asking him to look at it. He provided amazing service and we are so glad we found this company. We will be loyal customers here and recommend them to anybody looking for a mechanic.

I can only assume the people who are leaving good reviews either know…read moreabsolutely nothing about car service, or that they took advantage of me because I knew nothing about car service at the time. I spent well over a thousand dollars for them to fix things that did not to be fixed while ignoring the actual problem. The worst experience I had there was when I asked the lady if they could fix my cigarette lighter/phone charger. I told her that it was NOT the fuse and was the wire, because I just had it looked at. They replaced the fuse anyways and the wire was still broken. It cost me 15 dollars which I figured was no big deal because Im not the type of person to complain, but this resulted my car being totaled and catching on fire when it caused an electrical fire, which the tow/salvage company just confirmed. I just got off the phone with the woman, telling her briefly of my regrets, asking if there was any way she might compensate or help my situation /in any way/, (I was not asking for all of my money back or to pay for the car, I said compensate or help in any way), and she made it very clear that she was completely uninterested in talking to me. Because of this, I am leaving bad reviews, and telling the people who have highly recommended them to me to go other places, which they have, and they are losing business because of it. I sincerely hope they read this review and try to help the situation but I doubt it. All it would take is a partial refund of some of the "services" they offered me but they just dont care about customer service. If you take your car there they will probably do what they charge you for, but if youre like I was, ignorant of car maintenance, and have an appearance like youre lower class (despite my chemistry degree and working in the health field, I apologize but I dont dress up to get my car fixed), and are not an assertive person who doesnt complain when they dont fix your car they will take full advantage of you. I should add that they replaced my muffler when my car was making noises (600 dollars) which did not fix the actual problem, and my exhaust system literately broke in half less than 3 months later. I called them to let them know and they said it wasnt their fault because the exhaust system broke in a different area. Well, maybe when you were diagnosing my car you should have noticed that the pipe connecting my resonator to my catalytic converter was extremely rusty. I could have replaced the ENTIRE exhaust system for under 300 dollars labor included, but I made the mistake of trusting the great reviews this place has gotten and family member that recommended them. I have lost over 1 grand there and many hours I spent personally learning how to fix my car, just to have it explode in a fire costing me another 2500 that the car was worth because they did not do the service they charged me for. Despite this, the lady cannot be bothered to even have a conversation about helping me in any way. I'm sure they are stressed and have problems but they do not deserve to be in business, and I can only hope I can help people by telling them to avoid them at all costs.
