After washing my car, I noticed I was missing a tire valve cap. Usually I have spares, but found zilch in the usual places in my car or at home. No luck in the automotive department at the nearby Safeway, didn't want to deal with more crowds at Fred Meyer either. First visit to this Auto Zone and immediately was helped by a store employee. The aisle display had several types of tire valve caps to select from. I was able to buy spares without incident. As a strategic shopper, I like to locate item, pay and go. I specifically asked for the return to be credited to the credit card I used to purchase a new battery earlier that day. He also did not hand me back the original purchase receipt. As I walked away I heard him brag about "having been around". So here you go sport, your store gets a bad review on your smarts. Zach S. is exceptional! After 16 years of driving my old Ford, we got a brand new SUV three months ago. Being that it's a new car, my partner and I have been a lot more careful with it and we kept joking about how devastated we'd be whenever we get our first knick and scratch. Welp, sure enough, we got what looked like some significant front end damage--scratches and damage to the paint. We tried just rubbing the area with some soap and water to address the paint damage, but when that didn't do the trick we headed over to Autozone. When we walked in Zach immediately put us at ease. He was so sweet, and gathered all the products we would need to fix the damage. He even came out to the car to take a look. He told us step by step what we would needed to do, and even recommended a Youtube channel to check out if we needed a more in depth tutorial. He assured us that the damage wasn't actually too bad, and he was confident we'd be able to get everything back to normal. You could really tell that Zach had a passion for cars, and helping people. Once we got home, we followed Zach's instructions and sure enough, the damage is gone! You can't tell there was ever an issue, and our car still looks brand new. We're amazed! Great service here that saved my hide. Ordered the wrong parts online. Called around to many different stores till I found this one that had the parts I needed. Asked the gal that answered to please be sure they were on the shelf and marked saved for me as we were 2.5 hours away and had to take a ferry. She verified and promised the parts were on hold for 12 hours. Drove out there and were helped after a few minutes. The cashier and the gal that answered the phone had a quick chat where he could find what I needed. He offered a 10% discount and leaned it that it was because of the trouble. LMK that the parts have a lifetime warranty. Getting to their front door is a little weird. We stopped in to get a brake light for my sisters older Prius. We were floored by the customer service that Diana H gave us. She helped us find the affordable taillight and it wasn't busy she even offered to look to see if she could help us replace. It was a simple swap out ( not for us but her ) and 4 min later we had two new brake lights for her 08 Prius. Never have I experienced such good customer service. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Usually I do anything I can to avoid this location because it seems to have a constant flow of incompetent employees. However tonight I had no choice because O'Reilly Autoparts was already closed. I arrived at 9:55pm and I needed one small bolt to fix my broken car outside, but they already had the doors locked and it took some strong convincing for them to open it. After a Female employee let me inside I walked up to the counter and a male employee named Robert cut me off and started yelling "NOPE! NOPE! WE ARE CLOSED! NOPE! WE ARE CLOSED!" Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

Worst experience EVER.. ordered 3 sets of racing spark plugs, one set was to cold of a plug for my race motor. I tried to return them. The lady helping me at first refused to look up my info. I politley asked to speak with the store manager who was even worse to deal with. It was like pulling teeth just to get either one of the two to even look me up by my name and phone number. my experience ended with the STORE MANAGER telling me he wants to get fired and doesnt care if he works there or not. I left without being helped, and they refused to return the plugs i now have no use for.. I will also be calling auto zone corporate to try to get in touch with his district manager. I am a performance motor guy and have been buying hi dollar items from this store for years.. never again will i give these people my business. Very wonderful lady named MaLinda saved me today and I'm SO grateful! She was able to resolve my issue in a quick minute! Whereas, I went to Oreillys and not only did they fail to resolve my issue with my windshield wiper, they took 45minutes and couldn't figure out a solution, and told me to go to Mercedes Benz and order OEM parts and go have the dealership repair. I came into AutoZone scared about all the warning lights on my dashboard but thanks to Patrick's expertise, patience, and creativity I left with confidence that my car was safe to drive and having learned a lot in the process. I was especially amazed at his knowledge of parts, ability to troubleshoot, and how when we had to add transmission fluid and the opening was small and hard to get to that he experimented with multiple funnels and contraptions eventually making one out of a plastic water bottle that was the only thing that worked. I needed to buy and install a headlight recently. After being told by an employee at O'Reilly's that it was impossible for him to install and I should just watch a YouTube video tutorial, I drove my car down the road, went to Auto Zone, and bought another light from them in the hopes that they would help me. A kind young man there came out and spent 10 minutes standing in the rain in a determined manner, trying to install the headlight. He was successful! I was so grateful! What great customer service! Recently I came in with a friend who was ISO a specific part for his Honda. He ultimately didn't find what he was looking for but the employees there were so friendly, recommending a couple other stores in the area that might have what he needed. I've been in before on my own and found that the folks working there were friendly and helpful. One guy there even offered to change my wiper blades for me because he wanted to step outside. I've been here 4-5 times in the past couple months and it seems to me that this place lacks attention to customers. The folks that work here are 50+ age group and they seem to give customer service to that age group but not to people who look younger. The Hispanic guy that work here is always nice and helpful but the rest just seems apathetic, especially the perverted and evil looking Santa Clause looking guy. What really threw me off is that I walk to the counter and I see 3 employees (overweight perverted and evil looking santa clause guy, blonde with glasses with a voice of a heavy smoker, and the other one I forget what he looked like) chit chatting and the woman with the blonde hair and glasses had her back towards me. I stood right in front of them and waited 5 seconds and yet they don't even notice I'm waiting to pay for couple things worth 30 bucks. Not one employee in the three give any attention to me. I wanted to just pay for the stuff and get going with my day so I asked "Is there a cashier here? I want to pay for these items." They all looked at me like "Thanks for disrupting our chit chat." The only reason why I came here is because I like their selections compared to O'reillys but I guess I'll stick to buying online from now for car parts. This is one of the reasons people stick to online shopping. Buying online saves you from driving to a store, deal with apathetic staffs, and get treated like your money means nothing to the store. I went here to get a new headlight and brake light, windshield wipers. The person who helped me was so over the top "stressed". This will take me a half hour and I can't possibly help you as I am so short staffed today (there were two people working). You should head up to the AutoZone in Lynnwood. I explained I was fine waiting if he had to help others first or stop and help others. Off I went. Excellent Customer service there and guess what *GASP* only two people were working AND surprisingly they had no issue fitting me between customers. AND it took him all of 10 minutes (if that) to replace the brake light and headlight and windshield wipers. I had no problem waiting if they needed to help someone else. I would go back to Lynnwood but I would skip this one near my house. They are simply put LAZY and NOT customer FRIENDLY. I walked in and Luis G. immediately approached me to offer his help. I asked him if he would be able to read the computer codes on my car, and he happily did so. After finding out that I had a faulty O2 sensor, he explained to me exactly which part was malfunctioning, why, and what to do about it. He found a replacement part for me and even helped me replace the sensor! He didn't have to do that, he could have just told me what the code said, tossed a part at me and pushed me out the door. But he didn't. He went well above and beyond the call of duty and showed that he really cared about me and my car, and that even a $20 part wasn't a pointless transaction. I like Autozone and I'm glad to see them moving to Seattle. When I lived in Houston, I would always choose them over other auto parts stores due to great service and clean stores. They have a large inventory of parts and will give free check engine light readings to help diagnose problems. You can also sign up for a free membership card that will give you points towards store credit with every purchase of $20 or more. The only thing I don't like is that they try to push certain products on you that aren't really necessary; it's kind of like a featured product of the month thing like injector cleaner or something along those lines. Sure, it's kind of annoying to have to refuse what is often an awkward offer that you can tell the employee is forced to make, but overall it's not enough to make me want to stop shopping here. Keep in mind that Autozone is not really a place for "hardcore" mechanics; it's more of the husband-handyman shop. Generally, the employees will have decent knowledge about cars, but you can tell that most of them are not highly knowledgeable about cars. Still, if you are looking to replace some of the more basic parts of a car, then this is a good place to go. read more

This is the first time I've been here and I was so pleased. Both my car headlights burned out and my friend suggested it might be a fuse that could be changed. Now I'm highly competent in many areas of life but when it comes to technology and the inner workings of cars, yah, I got nothing. I walked into the store, waited about a minute for the customer ahead of me to finish, and explained my situation. A very nice young man named Kevin immediately called for assistance at the desk, grabbed his jacket and we headed out to my car. After searching for about 10 minutes we discovered there is no headlight fuse in my car. 'No worry,' he said, 'let's just check the bulbs.' Sure enough they were burnt out and we headed inside to pick up some new ones. Reasonably priced, I might add. He changed the first one, then coached me through changing the 2nd one and made sure it was properly replaced. THEN he checked the lights all the way around the car before I left to be sure I would be safe tonight. I'm so grateful to Kevin for his help, and so happy this store is nearby. Every time I've gone here for new light bulbs, window wipers, air fresheners and motor oil, I've been met with a helpful staff who look up the exact parts I need and take the time to walk me to the aisle where the parts are located, even when they're busy. I recall one particular night last year when it was dark and raining and one of their salesmen helped change a headlight bulb for me.. for free! Front turning light was out and the blinker was going triple-fast. Stephen was quick and efficient at finding the correct replacement and then took 15 minutes to install it and its companion. The installation required some tools I didn't have and knowledge I certainly didn't have and some dexterity. He was patient and calm in solving the problem. Very very satisfied. I was just over at Fred Meyers getting christmas lights and locked my keys in my car. I called AAA and they said I would have to wait up to 2 hours. Looking over my shoulder I noticed Auto Zone. Thinking that I could save my AAA service calls, I will just go over there and buy a solution. Not only did I not have buy anything, but Ben said they had a tool and he would help for free. WOW!! I had to buy something now, which I did enthusiastically. It took Ben about 10-minutes but he got me into my car and I saved a service call for next time. I really hope Ben's boss sees this and knows what a great person they have working for them. Ya, maybe other places may have better prices, but no one can match their service! read more
