I called around to many places looking for estimates for hitch installations. I was a little behind the ball, and very naive to the process. I have a Subaru, and every place I called only stocked the 1-1/2" size hitch for my car. Queue Mann's! I called them and asked if they had the 2" and they said they didn't stock it. But the nice man I spoke to directed me to E-trailer.com and walked me through the website, and helped me select what to purchase. He said they would be happy to install it once I received it! I got the hitch within about a week, and called Mann's to schedule an appointment! They were able to get me in within a few days! I dropped off my car, and they had it installed within an hour. I called around to different hitch installation places around the Shoreline and North Seattle area. Mann's is the best deal and they install 6-7 Subaru's a week due to the proximity to Carter Subaru Shoreline. A basic bike hitch install is $449 plus tax and takes about an hour. Other places like Rack and Road are $551 for an exposed hitch and $660 for a concealed hitch, also taking a few hours. Subaru dealership only does electric hitch hookups and they code $1033 plus tax. Mann's is responsive and has great customer service! During the install you can go on a walk or check out the nearby Black Coffee Northwest coffee shop since there's no lobby. It all started with communication back and forth through their website text/chat feature. I needed a class III hitch for my new 2023 Bronco Sport. Responses were quick and to the point--just how I like it. I was able to get an appointment quickly and easily and the quote was lower than my other go to hitch/rack store in this area. My hitch was installed in ~90 minutes and the work was A+ grade quality. Their showroom/waiting room isn't really setup for chilling there, but there are options a short walk up or down Aurora. I had a hitch installed on a Mazda CX5 in May. I've used it and it works great. I'd definitely recommend this place to a friend. Pros: -answers phone promptly and booked an appointment within a week. -polite and friendly -did a great job Cons: -no waiting room. Closest place to sit or work is Starbucks, about a mile walk. I wish I had known that. -no instructions for picking up my car. I didn't get a call when it was finished, even after asking for my phone number. Needed to hook up my Toyota RAV4 with a trailer hitch and harness to tow a U-Haul cargo trailer and was quoted $495 which included a Curt class 3 trailer hitch with 2" receiver, harness, and labor. Throw on a standard ball for $30 and then tax and you're looking at spending around $600. Compared to various other Toyota dealers that quoted me $1,800-2000 for the same job, Mann's welding was an absolute steal! The dealer justified their price difference by saying it was an 8 hour job for a professional mechanic to install and that if I went to other places they'd have to modify my car to install the hitch, lower the center of gravity of my car so it wouldn't be able to tow as much, won't be attached to the frame of my car... but that was all BS. The workers at Mann's are the TRUE professionals. They had me in and out after just 1.5 hours, no modifications to my car, and the job looked clean. Great friendly customer service, easy to talk to and responsive to phone calls, had a waiting room off to the side. They are reasonably priced, however i bought my own hitch to get it installed in their shop. The person said he was the owner and took my car inside the workplace to install the hitch. First this is a big issue as you cannot see whats going on inside the place as its barred from customers to go inside. When the hitch was installed i noticed on my way back home that it was chipped on the outside. I am now not sure whether it was dropped pretty heavily while installing or they just broke with their machine. But now i worried now going to another shop to confirm it. I was packing my horse trailer for an 18 day trip and a safety check revealed that my trailer lights weren't working. We called Mann's and they spent close to an hour trying to walk us through making a repair. We couldn't pull it off so they said to come out first thing in the morning so that we could hopefully leave somewhat on time. They even let us come in before opening. It ended up that a tire blowout that I had had had damaged some wiring under the trailer. Everyone there went above and beyond to help us leave on our trip in a timely manner. I was quoted a price of $150 and 1 day to install a swivel Jack on my trailer. I said 'ok' and took it in. Four days later I hadn't heard from them so I called. The guy on the phone said 'oh, we'll have it this afternoon' and he re-iterated the $150 price. I showed up to pick it up. Guy at the front counter did some paperwork then asked '$150?' To the other guy there...manager? Owner? This guy says 'uhhhh $250.' I reminded them that they had said only $150. 'Who said that? Not me...did you say that?' I paid and left. I would suggest getting a written estimate. Part couldn't have cost more than $50. read more

I did a DIY installation of a bolt-on hitch on my vehicle. The wiring for this particular car is a bit finicky so I had it installed by Signature Independent in Kirkland. They did a nice job, but suggested I have Mann's do the final mounting of the plug. So the plug for the trailer wiring has just been dangling by a zip-tie while I waited for an opportunity to visit Mann's. My appointment was yesterday. and the job was done on time. Mann's is the best! My Subaru dealership people recommended them and I'm so glad they did. The staff was really friendly on the phone and in person. I got a hitch put on my Subaru Outback and it took 1.5 hours. They had a place set up for you to wait for them to be done. They also showed me the wire and how to make sure it lasts longer. The hitch is insured with them for as long as I own the vehicle. The hitch is flush with the bumper so it's nice to not have it protrude out. read more

There is nothing more frustrating than making an appointment, traveling over 2 hrs (including $20 ferry toll) to get to Mann's for an 9am appointment to see a typed note in the door saying "sorry we are closed, see you Monday". I would have hoped it it was a family emergency or something someone would have called us or notified us SOME how before we made the LONG trip over. We wanted to make the long trip because it had such good reviews but that was a LONG, expensive trip to get there with out any notification they would be unexpectedly closed. read more

Had a trailer hitch installed in fall of 2022 on BMW X3 partly because it was the best deal available. Developed serious water intrusion problem in battery area of trunk. New owner as of January 2023 said he wasn't liable for that as it is now a new business with a new name and his lawyer set it up to protect him etc, etc. Yet the website name is still Mann's and they are citing the 30 years of experience that Bill Mann had accrued so the new owner assumes the reputation that runs with the experience, but not the warranty responsibility. I called to order a RetraxPRO bed cover on a Friday, expecting to hear that it would take up to two weeks to get in, since this is what my local shop said. I was really surprised when he said it would be in the next Monday and they could install it at noon. Needed a hitch for my Rav4 to attach a bike rack to. Mann's came recommended from a neighbor and I was really impressed with how quickly they were able to accommodate scheduling. I brought my car in, they told me it would be 60-90 minutes, they checked me in (Bill was super friendly, funny and kind!) and 40 minutes they were all done. Ahead of schedule which was great! They even taught me (who has no mechanical experience or aptitude whatsoever) how to connect it to the bike rack I had brought with me. And sent me home with some hardware (complimentary) because my bike rack was missing an important piece to lock in.
