My dentist referred me to Dr. Auyong for wisdom tooth consultation. Since mine was a tad bit more complicated my dentist felt it was better to see an oral surgeon. The consultation itself wasn't too long and Dr. Auyong explained what my options were if I wanted to be awake or have anesthesia. I liked how they weren't pushy and allowed me to decide what I wanted to do. I decided I would be awake just because my insurance didn't have anesthesia coverage. But honestly the procedure itself was painless. He was very gentle and would check in to make sure I was doing okay. My recovery took about 1 week which I know is the usual standard. I didn't swell up as much as I thought. I would recommend Dr. Auyong and his team to anyone looking for an honest and caring oral surgeon. I'm already going to refer my parents here since Dr. Auyong also does implants. There's free parking and since it's covid they are taking all the necessary precautions to make sure not just the patients but the staff is safe. read more

Our experience at Dr. Auyong's office was fabulous! My daughter needed her four wisdom teeth removed and we chose Dr. Auyong because he previously did an extraction for me that went well. We drove 45 miles from the San Fernando Valley to Diamond Bar and it was well worth it. Not only did the surgery go well with minimal discomfort afterward, but huge kudos to Jessica at the front desk for her kindness, helpfulness and follow-up. We had an insurance issue that Jessica fought for us, saving us several hundred dollars. Where do you find that kind of customer service anymore?? I would make that drive again if oral surgery is needed for my friends or family - and I will recommend Dr. Auyong to anyone without hesitation. I was assured before going in to get my wisdom teeth done that if I payed in cash I would receive 10% off my proceedure. This was just the beginning of my nightmare working with this office. Not only did they decide to no longer honor this promise but after I woke up they had sliced my lip and I did not notice until later when I cleaned the normal blood left over from the procedure. Also on my bottom right gums they sliced in oddly and now I have a deformed extra flap of skin. I went in a week after my procedure to voice my concerns, and they assured me my gum issues would go away with time after the stitches came out. It has been 5 months and it has not. I am not one to give negative reviews nor have I ever been afraid of dental procedures. I had braces before and no major dental issues, but expect that there is a bit of discomfort when it comes to oral care. To be fair before the process they were very nice and calming but I now sent a check (under protest) for the extra 230 I "owe" them ( I checked my balance a week after getting my teeth out and I was fully paid. Only now having sent not a letter to me nor called me, but rather sent something to my Father do I hear of extra 15 minutes of anesthesia charge and the no longer honoring my 10% discount. ) Now I have to deal with the financial and the lasting physical mistake they did. It is difficult to eat and clean that side of my gums and it gets caught in food and pulls/hurts. For a place where you have to trust after going under they should be more honest and trust worthy. read more

After having a chain placed on a tooth under general anesthesia, the chain popped off a few days later. We went back in, they reattached the chain, and when we went to the orthodontist, the chain was coming off again. My child was in pain and bleeding from the chain area. The trauma was overwhelming for my child. I have requested a refund on the procedure ($500). The doctor is currently on vacation, however, and won't be bothered until at least Monday. So- not only negligent, but also neglectful of patient care. Now we have to try a different procedure and need the money to pay for the new procedure. I certainly hope this is addressed before I have to take legal action. read more

OMG!!!! getting wisdom teeth out is scary enough, good thing Dr. Auyong and his staff are extremely accommodating to work with. My teeth grew in side-ways so i had to go under general anesthesia, and Dr. Auyong was great. His IV he started didn't hurt at all. He either got it in easily or he put lidocaine over it to numb me up. Before i woke up from anesthesia he gave me a local anesthetic so i wouldn't feel the pain immediately and steroids so i wouldn't swell up like a chipmunk immediately. By the next day I was eating, and by a little over a week I can eat normal again. CONS: after anesthesia you can't remember anything so bring someone with you who can supervise how "dopey" you are on meds. Make sure they can help you with the Discharge instructions cuz you wont remember what to do no matter how many times you read that paper out loud especially the first few hours after surgery. read more

I was in desperate need of removal all 4 of my wisdom teeth since the started emerging and crowding my teeth. I was referred by my fiancé's dentist since they've had done business for years. Even during the on going COVID-19 pandemic they were accommodating, polite, and honest through the entire process. I had to pay out of pocket since I didn't have health insurance and was happy to find out that they were able to discount my procedure on top of an already reasonable price. Dr. Auyong and his staff are awesome! They make you feel comfortable right away and are very thorough in explaining what procedure you may need as well answering all questions with details. I had my daughters wisdom teeth extracted by him and it went very smooth and exactly as they had explained it would. I was so happy and comfortable with him that now my son needs his wisdom teeth removed and of course he is scheduled with Dr Auyong. This is not a "fun" procedure however their office is so calm and relaxing that you feel at peace knowing you or your loved one is in excellent hands with the Dr and his caring staff! read more

Got my four wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Auyong and his staff were extremely nice! Instructions were thorough and my procedure went very well. Everyone was very friendly and all questions were answered in a professional manner. Dr. Auyong has an emergency phone number that you can really reach him at any day and any hour. I was feeling nauseous on my first night and called him immediately and he was able to prescribe medication for me within the hour or so. Highly recommend! read more

I am not one to give reviews when I have a negative experience. In fact, I only do reviews when I think the service is exceptional but this place is ridiculous. I took my ADULT son in to get his wisdom teeth removed. I also have twin 7-year-olds that were with me. In addition, I woke up with a stomach flu. My plan was to drop of my son then take my kids out to walk around, get something for them to eat, and most importantly stay out of the office so as to not spread the very contagious stomach flu I have, then pick up my son. I get there and was told by the staff I was not allowed to leave my ADULT son there even though I would remain in the area to pick him up. Now you would think an office that was not allowing the "rides" of the patients to leave would have some type of kid-friendly entertainment in the waiting room (games, kids books, coloring books, a little table, legos), not this place. Instead they had the news on the TV so my 7 year olds were forced to hear all about the latest high speed chases and fatal shootings. I also told the staff I had a stomach flu but not even that kept them from forcing me to use their restroom and sit in the waiting room so I can only hope my very contagious stomach flu doesn't infect all the rest of the patients that walk in to that office. Then to add, once the staff person could see I was upset she started acting rude and taking back to me. I don't know what happened to business staff learning to be understanding when their client are upset and still being polite. Apparently now it is acceptable to be rude and back talk the clients. Also, when I got my wisdom teeth pulled and everyone else I ever knew, the prescription for pain and antibiotics was given before hand so that the patient would have the needed medications ready. Not this place. I had to get my son home then wait over 2 hours for his meds which means he was without pain meds for longer than necessary. This place is horrible and would highly recommend seeing another oral surgeon if one is needed. read more

Make sure you talk to your own dental insurance or medical insurance that you are covered before you go to Dr. Auyong! Please dont get me wrong. I have no issue with Dr. Auyong himself, but his office staffs specially the billing lady are not so helpful. My nightmate started when I had 3 of my wisdom teeth removed Dec 2016. When my general dentist sent me to Dr Auyong last Dec, I had my dental insurance checked by Dr Auyong office and I was told that my insurance would cover 50% of the cost. The total cost of my procedure was $1800 and I agreed to pay 50% in cash myself and the rest would have my dental insurance covered. Few weeks later after my surgery, the Auyong office called me and asked for my medical insurance information because my dental office declined their claim! God knows what happened between the Auyong office and my insurance, I just gave my medical insurance to them. After that, everything was quiet and nobody called me again either from the insurance or the dental office. In June 2017, 5 months after the dental office last contacted me, I received a bill from Auyong office and asked me to pay the other 50% which is around $900. I was shocked and I called them immediately. They told me that my dental insurance would not pay for the claim unless my medical insurance denied first. But then the billing lady told me that she also couldnt get my medical insurance to issue the denial letter because I didnt have pre-authorization! It was so ridiculous that Dr Auyong office should have known all this processes before they told me my dental insurance would cover 50% at the beginning. And now the billing lady refused to work with my insurance anymore and asked me to pay, otherwise she would send my case to collection. To me, it is so wrong that if Dr Auyong's office they didnt follow the normal claim process (again they should know better than us) and ask their patients to pay for their own mistakes. Just be careful with what they tell you about the insurance coverage if you still decide to go to this office. read more

Thomas Auyong office staff is so rude, condescending and confrontational. I questioned an invoice charge of 168.00, because it clearly shows over charging and i have double insurance and i normally don't pay for any office visits. Because my husband went over 3,000 which is our max.. The office added extra anesthesia and other unnecessary charges and because i questioned Margie the office manager she sent my claim to collections a week later for only168.00 dollars that was only due, the same week i sent the payment. Then following week she added an additional charge of $20.00.This place is ridiculous. Office is out to get an extra buck from patients. Makes me wonder if this is under Doctors orders or maybe the office Manger Margie's annual bonus??? Not to mentioned my husband's wisdom teeth were fully out and they never bothered him, but it was the inconvenience of brushing back there.. Wisdoms were NOT impacted the Doctor could have pulled them out without cutting into the bone. But i guess if you can get more money by charging insurance companies WHY NOT?? Dr. Auyong and his staff have been wonderful to me over the years. In 2008, I needed an underbite orthognathic surgery. It was not a simple operation. My orthodontist recommended me to several surgeons. I chose Dr. Auyong because he seemed most knowledgeable, caring, and experienced. The office was extremely organized and clean. In addition, his office staff was always very friendly, helpful, and professional. The surgery required many steps (x-rays, physicals, etc.). The office staff (Margie, Jessica, and others) walked me through each step and was supportive throughout the long process. They took care of all of the insurance logistics for me. I was very happy with the outcome of the surgery. Over the past three years, I have needed two separate dental implants. I had no hesitation to return to Dr. Auyong. I again received wonderful services and the operations went very smoothly. Dr. Auyong's staff communicated with the staff from my dentist's office staff and the process went as smoothly as can be. Ultimately, I am extremely grateful for Dr. Auyong and his wonderful staff for giving me a much improved smile. read more

I had a horrible experience with this doctor, Dr. Auyong. On Monday, I had one wisdom tooth pulled out under local anesthetics, and it was extremely painful. The doctor noticed I wasn't numb enough so he decided to numb me up a little more. However, he started working again on me right away before the the anesthetics could take full effect. I decided I would try to tough it out, knowing the procedure would only take about 10 minutes. I had tears running down my face the whole time and was even able to feel the stitches being put in. The following 2 days I had a FEVER fluctuating between 101-103 and was unable to keep any food or drink down. I tried multiple times to get ahold of this doctor and it was impossible. His assistant kept saying she was leaving him messages and they have yet to be returned. On the third day, I had to go to the EMERGENCY ROOM because my fever had not yet subsided, I was throwing up about 2-3 times every hour, and I had an outrageous amount of swelling and lock jaw. All the while I still have not been able to get ahold of the doctor. OBVIOUSLY THIS DOCTOR DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. It seems extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL for a doctor to not follow up with his patients, especially if they are having an emergency. At the ER they concluded that I was having a bad reaction to my antibiotics and I was dehydrated, I am finally starting to feel back to myself again but I still have not heard from Dr. Auyong. read more
