I asked if the chai latte could be made vegan, and he assured me that it could be, so that's what I ordered with oat milk. I asked if there were any vegan food, he said they do carry some items but were all sold out. My order was brought out to where I was sitting. The chai latte was very delicious.

In my opinion they have the best well balanced espresso latte in town. The bonus: they roast their own beans and you can buy them by the bag. I order a vanilla latte which is consistently delicious and never over sweetened. To me it's important to taste all ingredients equally: bold coffee, vanilla, and steamed milk. Other "coffee" shops have no consistency and tend to over steam the milk or add too much sweetener. The shop has a cozy, welcoming feel with plenty of seating. It's a great place to relax or get some work done. While the coffee is the main draw, they also offer a selection of tasty, locally-made pastries which are a great complement to the drinks. If you want a delicious latte every time, this is your place.

I say this because I tried the almond danish on my first visit and it is so delicately delicious I have never found a need to venture beyond that taste treat. I often get breakfast and then bring the pastry (which is huge) with me to nibble on, and put a smile on my face, all day - & it stays fresh! They have a limited lunch and breakfast menu. However, I find it has significant enough variety that me and my guests have never had a problem finding something to enjoy. I have had breakfast there, never lunch. I find what I have eaten reliably tasty, but it does not rock. For the food I would put it in the low 4 category, pastry an absolute 5. Coffee blows away the chain coffee shops and I find it very tasty, not bitter. They do all the fancy drinks and they execute the one I always get - cappuccino - extremely well. My one bit of advice is to ask for the coffee in a mug if you are having it to stay because otherwise it will be served to you in a paper cup. I find paper cups cramp the froth into a small area and ALSO blocks your nose from getting a good whiff of that awesome coffee smell. Smelling is a huge part of taste - so do not forget the ask - there is no up charge for the real mug. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating with variety in the indoor, ranging from a very large, family style, round table in the middle of the room, to bars at the windows and tables throughout - with plenty of spacing. The outdoor seating is behind the roastery and consists of wooden picnic tables. This is complimented with an extremely unique and , obviously, cared for garden with a variety of flowers and evergreens. Finally, the service. One orders at the counter where my only experience has been one of patience, informative and courteous order takers. You then find a seat or you can wait for your order at the counter. The coffee is prepared immediately and, I have found, the food is prepared efficiently. I have nothing but very positive interactions with staff. Do note that they have a drive up window as well. Located directly across from the Tillamook Creamery: extremely convenient if accessing the Coast thru Tillamook. All in, I would rate Five Rivers about a 4.5 - Enjoy the experience!

The location is right across the street from Tillamook creamery, but there are no crosswalks to get there. Crossing the street is a bit sketch. For a coffee roaster, I expected better quality.

The location is great, the coffee and food is pretty good, but the service is TERRIBLE. I've been here maybe 3 times hoping each time that I will have a good experience. I so badly want to like this place because it is close to my house, but I don't think I will be back. I agree with other reviews that it is highly mismanaged. I've always received either a snooty or don't care attitude from the people behind the counter. When we were there today ordering lunch, my kids and I had finished our sandwiches before my husband even received his. And while my husband was waiting he saw three other orders botched up. It was a train wreck. I noticed a sign requesting customer feedback. It asked for you to write the exact time you were there and how the service was. Seems to me that customer service must be an issue, but I think it starts with good management. If you want a good coffee, I would recommend heading across the street to New Seasons. read more

I have never left negative review, however this place has nothing to offer except good location. It is placed right next to park, where I usually do my runs and has a nice water view. But this morning, I needed to use the bathroom really quick and was met by almost cinematic situation. The "karen" young lady expressed with attitude that the bathrooms only for customers. When I explained that I was in a rush and she could see the line of 15 people in front, she blanty said : "looks like you gonna have to find another bathroom." I was actually going to order after the quick break as I am a regular runner on that park. Both bathrooms were complete unoccupied. Lost regular customer due to rudeness of staff! Since when we shifted to when simple requests like using bathroom or asking for a cup of coffee are met with rudeness? Let's all just not loose our dignity and remember what makes us human! read more

I ordered Chai Tea Latte. It was fine, but how can you mess that up. I also ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich. First of all, I waited over a half hour for it. When I finally got it, there was a slice of turkey, no cheese, a stack of spinach, and tons of mayo! Who the hell made the sandwich, a 1st grader. Oh, there was also a small circle of pesto (I think) in the middle of each side. When I asked for cheese, there was no apology (no one seemed to care it took so long either), and gave me a slice to put on the sandwich myself. Plus, it was $8! What?!?! I will probably go there again for coffee because it 's near my house, but I will never order anything else off the menu. I wish I wouldn't have tipped beforehand. read more

I usually love to come here after I get off of work to do my homework since it is open so late. The workers are so nice and love to make friendly conversation. Also, their carrot cake is amazing. Usually its a pretty quiet environment, people doing the same thing as me, studying or doing something quietly. Except for tonight, there were these kids sitting and talking very loudly and I could not concentrate at all. I understand there wasn't really anything the manager could do so I didn't mention anything but it was really distracting and I was pretty disappointed with my experience. read more

Well i have been here many times over the past four years, mainly for getting studying completed etc. It can become a zoo during school season especially at night. They open up the garage bays for outside seating in the summer with a ton of seating. I prefer to sit outside and look over the lake/ pond. Have only ordered a simple late every time I'm in here. One of the few 24 hour cofffe shops in Oregon that I know of since the starbucks at fred meyer stop opening all night. They are an expansion of the old one near beaverton library that I used to be a regular during my school years. Location is great. Beautiful surroundings. It is a shame to waste it on such mediocre coffee and service. Even the drip coffee tastes watered down. What I got was an excellent roast with a perfect balance of sweetness, if I did not care for sugar at all. But if you're looking for your corporate coffee chain, this is not it. They also gave me a lovely chocolate coated espresso bean as sort of a finisher. Walk up hang out. There is no ambience to speak of because it's a walk up coffee shop people. You aren't gonna be able to remote work from Human Bean. You want a great cup of coffee you can find it here? But if you like the burnt roast at the Bux... Also, I know some places don't have straws with wrappers but they'll put the straw in and then hand me my drink. The woman helping me literally walked to the window, fingers on the tip of the straw and handed me the drink after putting it in. I'm awkward and wouldn't ever say anything but I thought that was disgusting. Egg bites were like mushy and tasted like burnt cheese, though they looked normal so it's how they're made. And the caramel slush was chemical tasting? No coffee flavor and no caramel flavor. I won't be back, I'll stick to my usual spot.
