I refilled my "white girl energy" with a pumpkin spice latte that was rich and creamy and had actual pumpkin flavor on top of their smooth coffee. My partner got a mocha and absolutely loved it! We were both so impressed by our first sips that we asked about the bags of whole bean coffee they sell and the woman behind the counter came out to talk to us about each of the roasts and even gave us free tastings of the ones they had brewed. I'm not a coffee expert at all, but I do know when black coffee tastes good enough on its own that I'm not reaching for cream and sugar like I usually am. We grabbed a bag of Peru San Ignacio and Papua New Guinea, and I'm so excited to brew it at home and I will DEFINITELY be back on our next trip into the city for errands. They're a family run business and they've been here for 10 years so I know we'll be able to frequent them for years to come and I hope you do too!

So I navigated there and was a bit confused by the store location. The coffee shop is situated in a industrial business park, though I quickly figured out that they had storefronts too. I found the spot and walked in. I was greeted by Carey, who introduced herself as the owner of Roasted By Mom Coffee. That's when I learned that this space had 3 independent coffee roasters who share the same equipment and store to sell to customers. And the day I went, Carey was there to serve her coffee beans. So I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte and a black coffee. She didn't have any drip coffee readily available, but she went out of her way to get fresh beans she allowed me to choose to grind and brew a fresh cup for me. Wonderful customer service! I didn't have to wait long for my drinks to be finished. P2 said she enjoyed hers and I thought mine wasn't too bad. The beans I chose, Mom Goes Nutty, has hints of peanut butter, which I could taste in my cup. It was a different experience for sure. But don't let these things deter you from the epic coffee experience that awaits you. Subtly smooth, adequately bold and flavors aplenty... all served with a smile. The staff is incredibly friendly. My drink was even delivered my table by the barista! The bathroom is clean and parking is available on the street. They have all the classics and then some. There were aromas of homemade chai permeating the space as I sipped my coffee. This is an experience that can't be boiled down to 'just coffee.' It's not just another errand when you're in NW either. It's the kind of place where a random stranger next to you says aloud that 'this is the best coffee in Portland' as you walk by. And they mean it.
