Bought flooring tile and a bathroom vanity. The vanity is the problem. The sink stopper is already rusting. Purchased February 2020. Called store and in typical fashion they blamed me and wouldn't even call the manufacturer of the vanity. Just another business who takes your money and doesn't back up their product. The reason for one star is that they weren't honest about off-gassing of the product sold. It's pretty bad, and that was the reason I tore out previous carpeting that was brand new. I asked about smells and the person said he hadn't heard of anything about that. Well, now they have. Horrible off-gassing just like a poisonous carpet. I'm very disappointed, keeping a window open with a fan, but humidity or heat tends to make it a lot worse. They never spread out the product to off gas before they installed. It was laid in my home inside of plastic for a couple of days, what that did was nothing. Be careful buying laminate flooring, or any type of flooring that is artificial. The toxic gasses can be hazardous to your health and can take years to alleviate. The flooring I chose was Guardian brand and it looks good but the smells are strong enough to make your throat sore; you can even taste the chemicals on your tongue. No one in the store is interested in warning you about this, of course they want your money and too bad if you get sick. Thousands of dollars from carpet to flooring and I'm getting nowhere with these awful cancer causing chemicals. These manufacturers should be held liable for endangering public health. I'm sure palms are greased in order to avoid costly lawsuits. Let the buyer beware. read more

Expensive, and they sub-contract all of their jobs no matter what they tell you. I lucked out and had good installers. The install manager is a whack job! Watch their estimates. I had a 2000 sf hardwood job done with special order. THEY ESTIMATED how many boxes I would need. THEY ordered the wood. THEY overestimated by 3 boxes at $125.00 per box. THEY told me I could NOT return it because I ordered special order. THEY estimated... I am stuck with $375.00 worth of wood in my shed that THEY will not take back and I have absolutely NO use for! If you try to tell their install manager this, she will talk right over you like she didn't hear a word that you said. Real bad policy and real bad management. On the Estimates: You should have them itemize each item. e.g. remove old floor cost per s.f Install new floor cost per s.f. You will be surprised at what you are paying. I purchased some wall tile for my bathroom shower and had a great experience with customer service as I was in the store, but if you are going to buy anything from this place be ready to be ignored and forgotten after you hand over your money. They told me the tile would be ready the Wednesday after I made my order, but there ended up being a delay because of shipping problems. I understand that things happen but I had to call them on the day of pickup to see if it was ready. Thank god I didn't make the 45min drive to this location to waste my time. There is no urgency to answer question and make sure that the customer is satisfy with receiving their product in a timely matter. I had a question about pickup and left my phone number with the sales agent, but they never called me back. I had to call them 3 hours after the fact to then learn that that associate is still busy. I spoke to the manager who didn't show any sympathy or regard for how his employees conduct their customer service and gave me a vibe that he wanted to get rid of me. I completely understand the situation we are in since I am an essential work and have been working longer in these conditions, in customer service, longer then they have. Customer service should be better then ever, but I am extremely disappointed. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the tiles were nice, but the prices weren't. What a pleasant experience at Avalon! It was a spur of the moment decision to go there and check out their flooring for our kitchen Reno and we are so pleased! Our salesman, Mike B and Ian were so great to work with. They showed us examples of flooring within our budget and the type of flooring that will hold up with our crazy, big dogs. They gave us pros and cons of all the flooring and made us feel so comfortable in our decision. They were honest and knowledgeable and helped us decide on our flooring rather quickly. We have been on the search for kitchen backsplash tile for some time, going to numerous places. We finally went to Avalon and were approached by John Tocydlowski who went above and beyond to help us find just the right tile. He was incredibly helpful, never pushy, never showed discouragement. I purchased laminate flooring from Avalon. My salesman could not have been nicer. There was a mistake and I got the wrong quarter rounds. He was very nice. but when he was not in I had to deal with a very rude woman saleswoman. I spoke with the manager but even though he showed courtesy he did not apologize for his rude worker.. It took awhile to get the right quarter rounds. It was not a pleasant experience dealing with Avalon. I think that they just don't have good customer service. read more

Recently purchased area rugs that looked quite different in color pattern from what I remembered. In a follow up call from my sale's associate, Lumni, I mentioned my disappointment, thinking I had really misjudged my color choice. Lumni called me back within 10 minutes and had resolved the problem - the label on the rug I chose was incorrect. He immediately reordered the correct rugs and made arrangements for delivery and pickup. All was rectified within a week. Couldn't be happier. You really never know how good a business is until something goes wrong. Lumni took the extra steps to make everything right and I am most grateful. read more

Incompetent staff, and managment. My experience was so frustrating, that I signed up for YELP to write my very first review to spare others from a similar experience. We had to go to the front desk to ask for help from a salesperson because they were more concerned about chatting with each other than helping customers. Once I made selections, I had to follow up with the salesperson twice to get the order placed, which took 2+ weeks. I had to follow up on status of the order multiple times, and discovered delay after delay after delay. It took 8 weeks to get the tile, which was so irreguluar that it had to be returned. Avalon tried to say that it was supposed to look that way until I showed multiple flaws. I will spare you all the details, and summarize by saying I began the process in May, and continued to find mistakes through August. STAY AWAY from this store. read more

I can't rate zero or negative stars. Othersise I would. Had flooring installed and they had to come back out multiple times to correct deficiencies. Finally after getting tired of calling them back out I started fixing it myself. Never an offer of reduced price or money back. I still find areas especially around cabinets where there is no grout. My husband and I ordered specialty hardwood floors for the main floor living areas in our house. The hardwood floors were stunning however the customer service was absolutely horrible. The gentleman who measured the areas mismeasured leaving us short the amount of flooring needed to complete our project. As there was only enough wood to finish 1/2 of a bathroom, we are stuck without a usable toilet on the main floor living area of our house. Not one person from Avalon called to apologize nor has anyone even called us to confirm that additional wood flooring has even been ordered or when we can expect it. We have two calls in to them and still no answer. It has been over a week now. Would NOT recommend this company. read more

I read the other review. I am a local contractor, and I do not recommend them. They have a large selection; however the service is not good. A few of my clients who have purchased flooring or tile from them, on their own, complained about lack of response and attitude. I had gone in there myself and was also snubbed, UNTIL they found out I was in the kitchen/bath industry. Then, and only then, did they pay attention to me. I don't think businesses should operate like that. That felt a little "used car salesman" to me... One specific example: one of my clients ordered some Sonoma Tilemaker backsplash from them and was told it would be a 6-8 week lead time. That's totally understandable considering the tile she ordered; however when the 10th week rolled around and Avalon would not return her call is a different story. There's other tile shops in the area that carry some of the same lines of tile but also have friendly and prompt service. This place leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I completely renovated my entire house this past year. I went to Avalon Tile to select tile for two full bathrooms. Kathy helped me select the tiles for the overall design. Avalon Tile has an excellent selection of tiles I could not find at the other 5 stores I visited which is why I tolerated the spotty communication in the beginning of the process. Kathy was very helpful in the tile selection part of the process. This is where she shines. She is knowledgeable without being pushy. However, as time progressed the service and communication often fell through the cracks when I was not in the store. She did not return calls or emails promptly. I often had to visit the store to receive service. Once I placed my order, we hit a few more road bumps due to miscommunication about one of the products I ordered. First, Kathy told me the edges of the tile were going to have a finished edge therefore I didn't need a border piece. The line I picked did not carry a border piece and I do not like that look. On the contrary, when the special order tile came in, the edges were not finished. I was so frustrated and aggravated. My tile installer had already started the project and this was a special order tile. I had to figure out an alternative solution on my own quickly to keep the project moving along. The manager was willing to make the situation right and put a rush order on the additional pieces free of charge. Then I needed additional pencil pieces for another bathroom. I was told they would come in a few days by a certain time and Kathy confirmed it. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected and when they finally did come in they were the wrong color. Again, I had my tile installer on the job so it was a huge inconvenience. Kathy drove all the way to Cherry Hill herself and hand delivered it to my doorstep in an effort to make the situation right. Kathy also sold me sanded Power grout for a Carrera marble mosaic tile. I am knowledgeable enough about tile to know that marble requires unsanded grout. She said the particles in the Power grout are so small that it won't scratch the tile. Unfortunately, she was wrong. The Power grout scratched the entire surface of the marble mosaic floor. My tile installer had to hire another guy that repairs marble to buff out the scratches, but it wasn't quite the same. It was a brand new floor that was damaged immediately after install. It was so disappointing. At the end of the project, I wanted to return special order tile that my tile installer over ordered. Kathy said she would ask the purchasing department if I could return it and strung me along for two weeks. In the end, it seemed like she never intended to return it and just wanted to make it seem like she was trying to do me a favor. When I went in to purchase another $9 bag of grout, she gave it to me for free due to the aggravation that ensued. Unfortunately, it was not enough to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I recommend that you work with a small mom and pop tile store to get excellent customer service from a knowledgeable team that is vested in its own success. I do not recommend Avalon Tile and Flooring. I wish I spent my $5500 elsewhere. read more

I was there with my friend earlier and the store was very clean. That's pretty much where the positive feedback ends. Completely overwhelmed with the selections. Very confusing price tags. Seems like everything had a "special order" tag. Walked around the showroom for 30min and then walked out. The store had one other couple walking around and a bunch of lazy employees. Not one person approached me and asked if I needed help. Not even when I walked in and there were employees behind the counter, not one even said hello. Horrible horrible customer service. I have 2 whole houses to do and refuse to spend that money in that store. I will never go back or recommend anyone to go to that store. I went to Avalon Carpet Tile & Flooring ready to order my kitchen backsplash - I had seen the tile I wanted in a design magazine and Avalon was the closest dealer. The sales person insisted I get a sample first and said I would have it in a few days. I returned about 4 days later, but it wasn't in yet. I called two weeks later and still no sample. One month later, I am still waiting .... the sales person never called me; I had to do all the follow-up. I absolutely do not recommend Avalon. read more

I've used Avalon in Warrington on 3 separate occasions - 2 baths and 1 family room and have been happy, recommending them often. They have a wonderful selection and I enjoy getting ideas from their displays. However, I went there recently and I felt totally invisible and ignored. I was looking for kitchen tile and ended up wandering around with another woman/potential customer who also needed help until we both left, unassisted and pretty much frustrated. I returned a few days later and asked a young lady sitting at a computer if there was a designer available and she told me that she was one. I showed her a cabinet door and a tile sample hoping to put together a tile backsplash for a new kitchen renovation. She looked, handed me one tile from a display across the aisle from her and basically sat back down again. I left with the one tile wondering why I even bothered. I returned the tile the next day and while waiting at the counter noticed a display for new wood stair treads which we also are looking for. When I asked a couple of questions, the man at the counter seemed bothered that he had to get up and walk over to the counter. Really couldn't supply me with any information. For the amount of service I received, I could have gone to Loews or Home Depot. What's the point of a high end tile store in you can't get anyone to help you? Having little or zero help on three separate visits is significant to me. I don't know how the other on line reviews I read got such amazing service. I eventually found another tile store in Bucks County and received awesome decorator service, placed an order, and am extremely happy I found them. Now that I know what excellent service is, I doubt that I'll go back to Avalon. Avalon definitely needs to get its salespeople motivated. read more

Absolutely the worse flooring company EVER. Floor is 6 years old and is buckling and lifting. Installation was to be 3 days....they did it in 1 day - staying till 11 PM and 2 hours the next day. I'm giving one star because 0 is not an option. We should have walked out the door within the first 5 minutes! My husband and I were the only customers in the store, 5 or 6 employees stood around chatting, nobody approached us. We browsed for 20 minutes before being approached by an employee. Kathy initially seemed annoyed to be bothered by us, she did warm up a bit and did try to help. We made our choices, Kathy wrote out the order and we left. Our contractor looked at the order and questioned why "why didn't you pick the floor tile that matched the shower wall tile?" BECAUSE this was not presented as an option! We wasted a lot of looking for something that matched. When we went back to change our order to include the tile that went with the shower tile, we were getting bad vibes, weren't feeling too trusting, so thankfully we took pictures of the numbers on the back of the tiles. When the contractor provided the new order, we found several things that didn't match up. Avalon took it upon themselves to include a few "add ons" to our bill. This is where it gets bad, the tile was ordered, when the contractor was ready to start,several weeks later, he checked on the tile and was told it was back ordered and would be a additional 7-10 days. The contractor believed Avalon and started demo on day 10, this turned out to be a big mistake, one which I will never again allow. The bathroom was left completely none functional because Avalon lied. I do believe they lied, we were told different stories each time the contractor called. Our tile was in Italy , Kentucky back in Italy and even a week and a half after being told it was in Kentucky it still did not arrive. Our contractor, who was wonderful, found the same tile an hour and a half away, he drove up, picked it up and completed the job, no thanks to Avalon. read more

HORRIBLE service. Went in looking for shutters, they were very nice & quick to take our 80% deposit. After being told someone would call to come out and measure in 1 week 2 weeks went by and nothing. I called and a very apologetic woman said someone would call me asap. Another week and I called again asking for a manager, he assured me someone would call me back that day. Still nothing 4 weeks after they took $3000.00 from us. We cancelled the order and got a refund. We got EXCELLENT service right down the street at The Blind Shop on 611. Great service and a better price for the same exact shutters. After asking around several people spoke of similar bad experiences with Avalon. Should have done some research first. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!!!!!! No one even apologized when we went in for the refund. read more

A very pretentious staff. Walk in the door and YOU need to greet someone to get help. We ended up ordering some product and installation services from them. They were competitively priced with local Big-Box stores, so that was good. Now the bad. The sub-contractor that took the bid damaged our flooring on install (and never told us about it, only noticed afterwards), spilled leveling mud on our cabinets, appliances, walls, and base board (never cleaned it up). It took Avalon 3 months to rectify the problems we had. Not to forget over these three months, poor communication from their end. While I like the floor we got, it was a bad experience; they did not gain a repeat customer. read more
