Manager was very rude to my party trying to receive a VIP table. Poor communication of their policies. Very, very limited bar selection for charging so much money. Fun for a casino, but considering Mohegan is one of the biggest casinos in the world, the club did not live up to the hype or the price tag. read more

Wow, what trash... stay away. This is a nightmare. I wasn't let in and I have no idea why.

Worst night club ever. Do not waste your time or money here. ($20 cover? Really?) I have had only bad experiences at Avalon. The bouncers are extremely rude and unhelpful. I went here the other night for my friend's birthday. After waiting in line for almost an hour, they wouldn't let us in, even though it was only 12 and we all had hand stamps that we got before 10 PM, except for the one male in our group. The staff were so rude that they made my friend cry and totally ruined her birthday night. We should have stayed at Vista, where we were having a blast before wasting an hour trying to get into Avalon. Definitely go to Vista for a better atmosphere and way better service. read more

We came to Avalon as part of a bachelorette party. We had fun dancing for a bit and then I took the bride to be to the bar to buy her a drink. While we waited at the bar, we were approached by security and asked to follow them. They took us back to the entrance at which point we realized they were making us leave. We were really upset because we had paid a $20 cover fee and had not done a single thing that warranted being asked to leave. About a half hour later the same thing happened to a third person in our group. At that point everyone else left so we could regroup but we felt like we had basically been swindled out of our money and it's clear from other reviews here that this is common practice. I would save yourself the money and go to one of the other dance venues that don't charge a cover. read more

It was alright and sucked at the same time. The club was spacious & the DJ was good. He played a lot of 90s hip hop and ol' school hits. The drinks are another story. You can't bring your girl a drink. You have to drag her with you because you can't carry 2 drinks at once it's a CT thing. Shots stop at midnight so that sucks and they ran out of the only premium(Heineken ) beer they Serve by 1 AM. They only have bud light, michelob and some other lame beer like Coors or something. I'm gonna stick to Shrine at Foxwoods until the Springfield Casino is built. Hopefully the new MGM in Mass will have their drink game up to par. We were literally forced to leave sober and couldn't spend our money there even if we tried. Feeling disappointed and wish we went to Foxwoods instead. The Hotel room here is awesome though and the Casino Decor is way nicer then Foxwoods so it's not a total fail. But in the end we go out to drink and in that aspect I'd prefer Shrine. read more

I have 3 main criticisms which I'll list from LEAST to MOST grievous. Taken altogether they warrant the lowest rating possible. 1) The entire floor, carpeting included, was a sticky mess. This may have something to do with the fact that there is a shortage of table space so people are sloshing drinks around everywhere. For ladies, this means you can not take your shoes off to dance and if you're wearing open-toed shoes or low-hemmed pants you will leave soaked. 2) As explained by their "security staff", they start exiting people at 1:40am and do not allow re-entry after 1am. This is not posted anywhere, nor will they tell you that even if you check with security on your way out. They just won't let you back in. 3) I'll preface this criticism with a bit of context - I'm a psychologist in my mid-thirties who was the non-drinking designated driver that night so my perceptive abilities and recollection of these events were (and are) 100% intact. My husband left at my request to bring my purse to my car so I could dance. He was not allowed back in because of the 1am no re-entry rule. After realizing he'd been gone too long I exited and this rule was explained (interesting no one mentioned this when he told them at 12:55pm what he was leaving to do). When I politely questioned this business practice the doorman became combative and used foul language before asking the nearby police to escort me and my party away from the "perimeter" of the front door. Needless to say, at least one of their "security staff", and probably more, are live wires. I understand it's a tough job to deal with difficult people, but these security employees are clearly not trained in the science of behavioral assessment in the same manner as law enforcement officials nor do they display the same ethics or maturity. This particular doorman was eager to fabricate the presence of a threat to utilize a nearby police officer because he didn't appreciate my inquiry. It was a bit frightening that the officer had to comply with this power hungry, angry person. In zero seconds flat I went from feeling like a protected, law abiding citizen, to the powerless victim of an authoritarian bully who will be seen as a trouble-making drunkard regardless of the facts. Bottom line -- the professionalism is nil, the place lacks class, and even if you are careful and well-behaved, when one of the "security staff" doesn't like you they can throw you out at will and use the actual police to do it.
