I read the several five star reviews on Google and figured I would be leaving one as well after having Avalon replace my roof. Unfortunately, it felt as if they stopped caring once the contract was signed. The sales guy, Frank, made all sorts of promises to make the sale. They would put out tarps and take precautions to reduce the mess, the work could easily be done within a day, they would have an HVAC team replace the rusted out furnace exhaust pipe while the roof was open, etc. He said to come to him with any concerns or questions, but that was a mistake I made several times. I tried to get confirmation on our installation date and time, as I never received a call or message to confirm. He never answered, but I did eventually get ahold of someone in the office the day before. They seemed to know nothing about the HVAC team, but assured me that they would be there the next day at 8 AM and that they should be done by sundown. I was concerned about accessibility, as we live on a busy street with no street side parking. However, I was once again assured that they would leave room in our three car wide driveway to pull in when we got home. No worries. The roofers showed up as I was trying to leave prior to 7:30 AM. Although I was able to squeeze by, I asked them to leave room for my wife to pull out of the garage, as she hadn't left yet. I got a call from her five minutes later that not only had they blocked the garage, but they also put heavy objects against the doors so she couldn't get out to ask them to move. She ended up going out the back door to ask them to move. When I got home, the entire driveway was unnecessarily filled. I called the office to ask that they move to let us in, but I was told no one had a way to contact them. Since I couldn't park close and had a toddler with me, we waited at the park until sundown. They ended up working until at least 8 PM, an hour plus after sundown, while we waited in a church parking lot. When we got out of the car, my son and I kicked nails as we walked up our driveway. I can't believe we didn't get a flat tire. There was not a tarp in site, but the materials were still there. I heard back the next morning that they would be back to finish the roof, they would have an HVAC team assess the exhaust pipe, and they would be sure to clean up the nails. They were on the roof almost just as long again, but they couldn't finished around the exhaust because the HVAC team needed to come back after the weekend. The driveway looked as though someone had hit it with a leaf blower. No nails in the driveway, just everywhere else in my yard. The HVAC team did quick work, and confirmed my suspicion that they had not even been contacted about the job until the day the project started. A roofer came out to finish the roof around the exhaust pipe, and I was once again assured a quality control person would do a magnet sweep to pick up the nails I hadn't found yet. I saw the roofer on my security cam, but never saw someone looking for nails. Afterwards, I easily spotted a team of nails coiled up in the grass. Glad I saw it before a foot or lawnmower found it first, although I'm sure there's more waiting for me. Also noticed that the exhaust for the small furnace in my garage had been knocked loose. Glad that wasn't running. We also found a bottle of yellow liquid in a water bottle in my yard and another broken one that I'm assuming exploded on impact with the ground. I understand the need for workers to relieve themselves on my roof if there are no other options provided, but I'd appreciate that such waste was removed before my child finds "juice" free for the taking. One good thing I can say is that the work was completed and the roof looks nice. However, the rest of these issues and the other one star reviews I read too late have me worried that I may run into more issues in the future. I know that things come up and you can't plan for everything, but the lack of planning and communication and care made the experience bitter. Avalon's recent response to my review was inaccurate. They have only attempted to fix a leak around the chimney but they have not addressed the flat roof material installed incorrectly. Workers cracked a flat roof when dropping material and rainwater destroyed the ceiling. The company is fighting us because we filed an insurance claim. We continue to have leaking problems since a complete roof replacement in 2017. Do NOT hire this company! read more

It appears this company has changed its name a couple of times over the last few years but same address. It is now Avalon Roofing and Restoration. I wish I would have seen these reviews before my husband hired them. We had storm damage from the tornado in Baldwin back in Sept 2021. They were supposed to repair and replace the roof including cleanup. They sent a certificate of completion to the insurance company on 1/25/2022We were not able to get up there until yesterday 3/3/2022 due to weather. As you can see their work is subpar to say the least. The insurance company sent $7500 to them leaving a $7200 balance. They did not clean their mess but charged $1896 for it. The roof dips everywhere and the shingles are starting to come up in areas. I would definitely NOT recommend them. I will be contacting the insurance company as well as the BBB! It is funny you can not find my name in your records but we're able to leave a voice mail for me and my husband to call back. read more

After reading through the other reviews, there seems to be somewhat of a trend: 1. Representatives of this company are very rude and condescending once they have your money in hand. 2. They will do the bare minimum of lousy, low-quality work... then will offer to correct their screw-ups for an additional $$$ cost. 3. They seem to hate veterans and military folks. 3/12/2022: We spoke to an Amy Johnson with questions and concerns about the way our project had been done. She was unbelievably rude and condescending, basically called my wife an idiot and made fun of the way my daughter speaks. I can't believe a company would allow someone like this to have access to a telephone and actually speak to customers. The work itself was not done very well, and Amy (who has probably never seen a real roofing project in person) tried to blame it on problems already existing with the roof. However, during the project nobody ever reached out to us. They didn't even bother to send us pictures of the completed job, and to the best of my knowledge the sales rep never went back out to check the work. He had promised to call me on several occasions but did not. Trash was not picked up after the job was complete, but Amy's excuse was "you have no proof that we were the ones who left it there." Yeah, right, like someone just randomly wandered into our yard and threw a bunch of roofing nails and debris on the ground. Every project is going to have some gray areas and issues that need to be worked through, but being treated the way we were by Amy is inexcusable. Someone over there needs to send this person to training, to learn how to talk to customers. Update, we spoke to the owner. He was also unhelpful, stood behind the shoddy work (which he probably has never checked out firsthand) and threatened to put a lien on our property. So, in April of 2019, I described my negative experience with Avalon and their scammy and time wasting job quote process. I thought that would be it and I'd hopefully never hear from them again. It was not to be. In the last two weeks, Avalon has called me twice to inquire about the job I declined to give them two and a half years ago. That's right, TWO AND A HALF YEARS ago and they're calling me to see if I just sat around doing nothing. During the first call, I informed them that the work had been done by another company. You'd think that they'd get the message, but no. A week later, I got a second call referring to the same 2-1/2 year old job that I'd declined to have them do in 2019 and had informed them that I no longer needed the prior week. Yet there they were on the phone, wasting my time. I was highly dissatisfied with Avalon in 2019 and this latest interaction has only increased that dissatisfaction. I was contacted by Avalon to see if I wanted a quote given for my roof. I had had Avalon do some work a few years ago that was acceptable, so I agreed to have them give me a quote. We were able to come to an agreement on a price. The employee stressed a number of times that it would only take a day, at the most day and a half--for finishing up and clean up. They got started on a Monday. Almost two weeks later they finished, last Thursday. I had to pick up nails every single day they were here in my driveway. The roofers never said a word that there was an issue with the deck which was damaged. I approached the roofers the next day, warning them to stay off the deck. "Oh I noticed that when I was picking up the tarp", one of them said. "It wasn't that way when I put the tarp down." See the pictures. I reached out on this Monday to Avalon regarding the damage and seeing what kind of agreement we could come to so I could pay the remaining bill. Two employees came today. One was exceptionally rude, pushy, and did his very best to bully me. He informed me that we would be coming to a resolution today before he left in a very threatening manner. He also on another occasion informed me that "I will be leaving with a check, Honey." I wanted him to explain in writing what they were going to be doing to the deck to fix it and as an alternative if I wanted to go elsewhere what financial arrangement they would make so I can make up my own mind. He was very very reluctant to put it in writing. I finally got him to put what he was going to do on the deck in writing, but he would not put in writing what financial compensation they would give if I chose not to have them fix it. Again he resorted to bullying and intimidation saying "you understand English don't you?". I brought him into the other room where my significant other was sitting throughout all of this. And ask him to repeat the offer in front of a witness since he was reluctant to put it down on paper. His demeanor changed immediately once he realized that a man and a witness to his behavior was there. Accidents/mistakes can happen. I know that. No one has a right to come in to my home and tell me that I have to pay them on the spot... Does he think he's the mafia? Is it going to break my legs? I can truly say I have never been treated in a more disrespectful, bullying manner from a business. We came to an arrangement UNDER DURESS that I am not particularly happy with but I accepted just to get him out of my house. I wrote a review a couple of weeks ago, but Yelp (undoubtedly at Avalon's insistence) removed it "because it wasn't clear that [my] review described [my] firsthand experience as a customer of Avalon Building Concepts." Rest assured, this review is based on my first hand experience with the company, including countless emails and phone calls, in an effort to get the company to stand behind the shoddy work they performed roughly a year ago. I won't bore you with the gory details, but if you're wondering, "How bad could the work be?!?!," I think the pictures speak for themselves. In my profession, substandard work and a failure to respond to client inquiries is considered malpractice. For Avalon, it is a successful business model. I remain (slightly) optimistic that by some miracle or divine intervention, Avalon will deliver on its promise to make things right. If that happens, I will post a follow up review. All we have to say, is listen to the negative reviews, & go read BBB, and trust these reviews. We're trying to warn you what you'll deal with, if you hire this company. If you enjoy zero communication once you sign a contract, & after you paid your down payment to a company that you expect a completed job from, then losing more money on top of that from unexpected arrivals, broken lawn ornaments, along with a ton of headaches, & frustrations, then this company is for you. If not, I highly advise you to stay far, far away. Nov 2nd was our install, Dec 16th wind storm caused the shingles to start to flying up at the peak, it took until Jan 12th for someone to come fix it. March 6th the whole right side of our roof started flapping in the wind. 2 shingles flew off. We had another roofing contractor come out, who said the drip edge isn't properly nailed down, there are several areas throughout the roof that can be lifted up with your hand, oh yeah, & the shingles that flew off, 1 only has 2 nail spots, & the other shows that they didn't even put the nails in the correct spot, which both of those will not only void the shingle warranty, if they don't come replace them all, but it's not even installed up to code. They also broke a very expensive sentimental yard ornament, & tried to hide it. To begin with, we wanted Shakewood, a lighter brown, & was given weatherwood which is almost black, with blue, & yellow in it. Mind you, our shutters used to be red. Then we were told that was our chosen color, which isn't true. There's no way that we would've chosen that color. It was intentionally put in the contract wrong so we're stuck with it. James didn't bring in the actual samples, so we weren't able to double check the color written in the contract, vs the actual color we wanted. We had our start date moved several times, ultimately having the contractors still showing up a day earlier than told. That caused 2 days of work to be lost, 1 being unplanned, because work is done from home (days 1&2). Then the skylight was broken during roof installation. Only to be left with gross sheet metal (mind you it's winter, & heat loss on top of gross looking) over the hole from where they removed said skylight, which caused several other problems. We were told that they had ordered the proper skylight, & in the meantime they were coming out to put plywood down, with shingles over it until the special order skylight comes in. Instead we got one that sits on top of our roof (ours sat down in the roof), that's 4-6" too big on every side, minus the top side that he slid down. Which ultimately shows shingles on the inside of our house. Then another contractor showed up to replace the sheet metal with the oversized skylight, again showing up randomly, causing you to lose yet another day of work (#3). Oh yeah, we weren't even home at first, when he started putting it in! Then we had yet another contractor come out unexpectedly (#4) to "add trim" to try & "fix" said gap. His only option for a gap that big? A regular piece of 1x6, as that's literally the size of gap between where your old skylight sat, vs where the new skylight sits. Oh yeah, then if we accepted that garbage, at least 1 more person still would have to come out to stain the trim, as the trim guy wasn't allowed to stain trim apparently. So another day that would need to be missed. Then missed another day for them to come fix the roof the first time (#5), another day (#6) for the second fixing of shingles. Days missed aren't over yet either, as the proper skylight isn't installed yet, & they need to replace these shingles. Every single day missed, minus 1 was unexcused, due to them showing up either early, or unexpectedly. They were all unpaid. read more

I would avoid Avalon if you are in the market for a new roof. I just had them install a fiberglass shingle roof last week and between all the damages and leaks I feel like I could have done a better job myself. Hose reel broken, gutter guards look like they are all crinkled, down spout smashed, tree limbs broken, paint chipped off my cedar siding. The caulk job around the skylight looks like a 3rd grader did it. And to top it all off, the facia that was sagging and rotted was never replaced like discussed. I was told well...it wasn't in the contract. Not sure how good lifetime warranty is on roof that has dry rot. The roof leaked around the ridge vent the first light rain we had after the installation which was 6 days later! Do not waste your time or money! Buyer beware. We had roofing and windows put in a few years ago. had problems then, and now one of our triple pane windows is foggy. I called Avalon and they will not honor the warrenty (even though the windows fall under warrenty) because they are not sure what windows they put in. But they dont think they carry those windows any more.Even though it says 5 pro series in the contract. They said not to bother calling the manufacterer of the windows (the manufacturer they think made them) because unless you have the sticker in the window they will not honor them either! What bad business practice is that??? read more

Had them come by earlier this year and get a quote. It's been down hill from there. Was told the job would be done first week of Sept. it's Nov now and the job is still unfinished. I've called a few times with no answer or return on my messages that were left. A simple roof over on a 1200 sq house. They said it was a simple 4-5 hr job . Clearly "simple" isn't easy enough. Finally got ahold of the salesman and he said he would put a rush on my job. That apparently didn't happen as I'm still waiting for any call back, or better yet someone to finish the job. Shingles are turning up on the corners since the day the job was left. Worst part is I told them if this went well I wanted windows and siding done, guess that job is going to a more reputable company. Never again. read more

I feel like I have to give 2 stars because Avalon did eventually fix the issues with my roof. It took 2 months, numerous phone calls and many texts to one of their sales managers. This has been one of the most painful customer services experiences I've ever had. One of my rental houses had a new roof installed by Avalon 2 years ago. It was a disaster from the beginning. The roofers got into a fight and one of them walked off the job. They had to find another crew to finish the job and they left my yard full of old nails. During one of the bad storms this year, water started pouring into the dining room. I called Avalon and was told by the customer service manager that because I did not have a warranty that the problem was my responsibility to fix. I challenged that. A 2 year old roof should not be letting buckets of water in through the ceiling. When I pushed back I was pretty much verbally assaulted by their customer service manager, Amy. She was horrible. As soon as you start to treat a customer like they are the enemy, I'd say you're in the wrong line of work. After a very tough phone call with Amy, I eventually got her to transfer me to a department to have my roof looked at. From there I worked with Jesus who was the exact opposite of Amy. He was very sincere, kind and considerate of the fact that I now have a ruined ceiling in a house with a young married couple and their infant. Communication with scheduling was an issue. Jesus helped where he could, but that is Amanda's responsibility. Every time I called for Amanda, she was 'out to lunch' or 'in a meeting'. My renters moved out over this issue, so now I have a ruined ceiling to fix and a house I'm no longer getting rent money for. This is the worst possible time of year to get new renters in and I can't even begin to find some until I can get the ceiling repaired. Avalon has brought me a lot of misery in addition to costing me thousands of dollars in lost rent and a ceiling repair job. I see there are good people at Avalon who do care about the company and their customers, but there are also many internal issues that need to be addressed. read more

I wanted to provide an update to my earlier review. Avalon originally blew me off about my serious roof issues but after seeing my review they contacted me and wanted to correct the venting issue that they created causing the severe ice dams. So, they added back in the box vents. However, I noted that I have insulation on the underside of the roof and that it would need to be cut out for the box vents to properly vent. Well they never cut it out so the vents can't really vent. They said they would come back out and cut out the vented area so they can work properly but they have never contacted me again. Now I have a new roof with a very ugly box vents... one that you can see from the road. They offered me 3 fixes. The box vents added back in. One option that was so out there I can't believe they suggested it and I am not going to describe it and the final one was to spend several thousand dollars more for smart vents. Seriously, I paid over 10K for my roof and my house is not that large and they didn't know their job well enough to vent it properly and now they want to charge me several thousand more. Then to provide a fix that is not a fix at all because they did it wrong....again!!! WOW is all I can say. Before you consider using them please look at the huge ice dams on my roof (in my prior review) which I DIDN'T have before they installed my new roof. Now because of their incompetence at installation and with the "fix" my roof is going to be damaged. read more

I was very impressed with the sales reps. that came out and gave me and estimate for installing a roof on my home earlier this year. The installation went quite well. I had a water leak after the installation which was taken care of in a very timely manner. however some of the things that was written down to be done has not happen even after several inquiries and promises they would be taken care of. The work has finally been completed and the guys told me that the water was coming in from the siding not the shingles. My original issue in the first place was the leak they told me it was the roof causing it so that's what needed to be replaced but now they're telling me it was the siding where the water was coming from, but hopefully they fixed it. read more

This is the most unorganized company I've ever dealt with I received two phone calls asking how their service was, it was the worst service I've ever seen received! They still wouldn't give me an explanation as to why they return my deposit. read more

I recently called the Better Business Bureau due to a three-month long issue with this company that has not been resolved. Basically, my roof is leaking and I was advised by the tile company (GAF) that an inspection had been done by Avalon and I would receive a report and pictures. These never came because Avalon never did an inspection and lied about it! A roofer from Avalon called me the day after the BBB complaint was made, and gave me lame excuses that an inspection was not possible the past few months due to rain, snow, and cold temperatures, but that they could do one now. So, he was caught in a big lie. He attempted to place blame on the tile company, GAF, stating that they were "mistaken" about telling me that they were awaiting an inspection report. He refused to provide the phone number of owner Richard Meade so I could call Mr. Meade, as I had further questions. I then asked for Mr. Meade to call me. He did not have the common courtesy to call me, but instead falsely reported to the BBB that I would not allow an inspection. Another lie in a series from Avalon. This is probably the most unethical and untrustworthy company I know. Do not contract with them. read more

They were prompt returning my call and they set up the appointment for the next week. Andy, the gutter installer, came out - alone - and knocked the the job out so quickly I thought he was making a Jimmy John's sub! Highly recommended. read more

Wanted ( asked several times) to take an application to borrow the money for our improvements even tho I explained that we will be paying cash in a couple of months. Wanted me to sign up for everything RIGHT NOW. Was not very nice and seemed upset that I wasn't going to sign today. Would not even leave me a brochure. Said to call when I was ready. I feel like 2 months is pretty close to ready.. Did not give me an estimate. I was just trying to get an idea of how much cash we needed. I did not get that from him. You'll call them (repeatedly) trying to get updates, but you may get an answer every month or so. When the job actually does get done, it's not complete and you'll have to try to contact someone to FIX STUFF six weeks after the job. For the most part their product is good but the way they (management) treats their customers is shockingly inappropriate. To start things off they were not straight forward about their protocol about wether a roof needs plywood or not. They had made it sound like we would not need it nor was the price in the quote, which they had pressured us to sign off on the contract that same day. When they had shown up to do they job 2-3 days after they had said they would start, no communication as to why they did not show up on said day. The extra cost for the plywood was well over what we had budgeted and what had originally been discussed. They did not put plywood down on the roof of our inclosed porch area and proceeded to use 2inch nails and missed nearly every stud, now we have 1.5inch exposed nails sticking out which is just an eye sore. We were told by the quality officer they would come back and cut the bottoms of those nails off and smooth it over, that has not happened. Once they finally called us back about why we have not paid the full bill due to the well over priced plywood, we said we would pay for half of the plywood. We explained why they did not get the full bill paid and the manager/owner proceeded called my mom a Stupid B****. We knew it would be an intense call so we kept our cool and was stern about what was going on, but they came out throwing out in appropriate names for honestly no reason. I had a roof installed in the fall of 2018. That spring (2019), the roof started leaking within months of installation. I called on a weekend and left a message with their answering service. No response. Called back a few months later. No response. Now, I got through, but since it's just past a year (conveniently, they didn't get back to me until over a year after install), they claim they can't find any of my calls and say I'm outside of my warranty, but only because they never called me back the first or second time. The owner called me back, called me a lair, and was incredibly condescending. Terrible service. Would never recommend them! read more

Avalon Building Concepts hooked me with their Master elite contractor status. The contractors did not properly seal around an existing skylight which resulted in a new leak into the light fixture and all over the kitchen floor - causing water damage to the ceiling tiles. Eventually they did sent someone out to evaluate. He put a new "boot" (I think) around the skylight. When I asked about the damage to the ceiling in the kitchen; he basically said it was my fault for not sealing around the skylight which they had not installed and therefore was my problem. I asked him to ask his supervisor to call me when he turned in his report - he said he would. It has been months and I have not heard a word. I also found damage to the shroud over my heat pump ($135 to replace) obviously caused by something that was dropped from the roof - something which the contractors never bothered to mention when it happened. I would recommend calling SIR Home Improvement if you need a reliable contractor. SIR installed a walk in shower for us. They did an excellent job of it and have answered every call I have made since. They went above and beyond. I will use them again now that I know they can do all of the home improvements on my to-do list. I wish I had been told they could do my bathroom and my roof. read more

This company has the BEST customer service and professional installers. I had my roof and gutters done, 1 1/2 years ago. A large tree clipped the end of my gutters, bending it. I contacted Avalon and that day, I got home from work and it was repaired. No charge. This fall, I got up on my roof to clean leaves off and noticed only 1/2 the gutters had coverings on them, the other half, none. I contacted Avalon and within a week, a gentleman shows up and says he is here to put covers over the remaining gutters. Avalon was not sure what happened, but they were so professional and immediate with action. I will always promote this awesome company. THIS is what makes companies GREAT! read more

I have never received such poor quality work and customer service from a service provider in the 31 years as a home owner. We hired Avalon to put a new roof on our home in 2019. We had a number of issues after the installation from an intial large leak that had water pouring into our den (they did fix the leak with additional flashing and gobs of poorly installed black caulking, however did not repair the damage inside the house) to poor clean up, dented gutters. The worst was the shoddy repairs to the house facia where they had pulled it off during the roofing process nailed in a raw 2x4 which has left an opening in our home. We have had different reps from the company come out to take pictures and called numerous times, also sending pictures and still no response. This has literally been going on for years. As a result of this completely unprofessional work, it was the last Avalon roof completed in our neighborhood. Our neighbors saw what we went through and went elsewhere. Five new roofs where installed by another company on our street in the two years since ours. They have all been satisfied. read more

Avalon installed a new roof on our home in 2016, prior to us taking occupancy of the home. That owner had purchased a roof warranty at that time. In October of this year, we had a roof leak. The warranty company contacted Avalon to see about repairing our roof & sent them an email to authorize an inspection. I contacted Avalon multiple times over the next 2 weeks to see about scheduling this as our roof was still leaking, & they kept telling me they never received the email from the warranty company, which was odd because email is instantaneous. The woman I spoke got very aggressive with me when I questioned that they hadn't received the email, & told me the warranty company was lying to me about sending them the authorization. The 3 people I had contact with from Avalon were all incredibly unprofessional & unsympathetic with my concern. I tried to workout the issue with one of their employees but he was also unsympathetic & didn't seem willing to help. I finally got another company out to inspect the roof (they came the day after the warranty company sent them the authorization) & they couldn't believe our roof was only 6 years old. They stated it was clearly a poor installation job & there were multiple holes on the roof from the install being done improperly. I've spoken with several builders at this point & all have stated that Avalon has a very poor reputation in the building community. I am thankful we were able to get another company to fix our roof, & would avoid Avalon at all costs. read more

Back in November I hired Avalon to do a kitchen remodel and install new flooring throughout house. The guys they sent to start flooring gouged and ruined all my base boards, wrote on a freshly painted wall and started demoing the kitchen before the cabinets were even ordered. On top of this they used some of my tools and even used my oven to cook their meals. (How very professional) They were to put an arch pass through between kitchen and family room. This was not done by someone who knew what they were doing and they spent over 4 weeks and several different workers trying to get it fixed. (they want me to pay for all that labor). I have a down draft cook top that needs to be vented. I spoke with William Webb about that and said if need be I can self-vent the hood but not the cook top. He had the guys vent the hood and did nothing with the down draft. The wrong cabinets were ordered, some were cut down the fit, some were chipped and the finished damaged in installation. I was to have a custom built wine rack which was never done, they ordered from factory instead, which was more money and they never told me about that. I was to have custom shelving and I was never consulted on wood species, stain or even how many or how wide I wanted them to be. Yet, they say they built them and I have to pay for them. I haven't seen them. After constant poor workmanship and damage I finally asked them to leave and not come back. My son had assumed all communication with them and asked for invoices so we could get a final payment worked out and end the relationship. A few weeks later in a profanity laden phone call (every f bomb you can imagine)from Dan (owner/manager) with threats and saying they didn't have to give us anything and would be putting a lien on my house if I didn't write them a check for what they wanted. Weeks went buy and I got another rude phone call from Mr. Webb threatening to put a lien on and telling me I had stalled this long enough and it was time I paid. I explained that I had never seen an invoice so they couldn't possibly put a lien on my house and it was they who were holding things up. A few days later he sent some figures. I sent back what I thought was an amiable compromise deducting what it will cost me to fix, redo and finish what they started. It has been 2 weeks and I have still not heard a thing. They have lost a lot of money on this job with poor workmanship and think I should pay for the repeated attempts to fix it. read more

I was referred to Avalon by the Michigan Saves program to put a new metal roof on my modular home. A young man came out, measured the roof, and gave me a quote. He knocked $1000 off the price for putting a sign in my yard (I live on a busy road). This was early September and said they were scheduling in late October and would call me when he had a date. I got the loan approved a few days later. I get a phone call today, October 15, saying basically they under bid and would not be making enough money from the job and they wouldn't be doing my roof. Had a new roof put on during the winter months, I believe in January. Despite the weather the guys knocked it out. Price was reasonable. Salesman was kind and honest about the condition of the rood and didn't try to sell me the Cadillac of roofs, gave me what I asked for. The only complaint would be the pickup after the job, there were nails and small parts of the shingles to be picked up in the spring, but this is understandable given the winter install and the snow. Overall, happy with results and glad they did the job. read more

My roof was put on, good quality and looks good However they left some scraps and coils of roofing nails in some trees. I had two flat tires in my tire. They did a very poor job of picking the nails out of my driveway. I paid them in full $6400, then they gave me the run around about my ruined tires. This lasted about three weeks. I went down to their business and they were very rude with me. I am a 73 year old Veteran and still waiting for some settlement. read more

Do not even think about using Avalon. First, there estimate will not be accurate and you will end up spending more for items they forget to list. Second, they leave debris everywhere and do not clean up. Three...we immediately had a roof leak!! read more
