I let them know that I needed the work done soon and would go with another company instead. Suddenly, they said the original appointment was back on and assured me everything was fine. I took time off work to be available, only for them to call two hours before the appointment to cancel again due to "unforeseen circumstances." If you're looking for a reliable company that values your time, go elsewhere. read more

Hmmmm.... At first I was impressed with their detailed survey of my yard. Very responsive. I tried their landscaping option and found it too busy so I decided against them. They charged a lot for the design which I paid and then sent me another bill for service which was for the same service I paid for. Not a value proposition here. read more

Noe was on time for our consult and assured me that the ecosystem growing on my patio would not be a problem to remove. The quote was more than reasonable. The 2 men who cleared my patio were on time, professional, did a great job and met the scope of the project. I am also grateful that in COVID times, they respected my desire to not have anyone in my home. My house recently underwent a huge renovation which left me with a few "mud pits" in my front yard. Noe, "El Jefe", and team were great at helping me assess options for reviving my lawn, as well as listening to my design ideas for other areas of the yard. Being a cost conscious consumer with high end design ideas, Noe was able to work with me to give me what I wanted at an affordable price. His estimate was spot on, and therefore there were no surprises at the end of the project. I had a Spring cleaning (lawn mowed/weeds treated), sod installed, mulch placed in both the front and backyards, as well as a new stone border placed alongside my walkway - all of which turned out amazing and I get lots of compliments from my neighbors about my lawn now that it's no longer a disaster zone! Aside from the top notch service, the other reason I gave Avanza a 5 star is how they responded to things that didn't go to plan (after all, it's how a customer is treated when things don't go well that really differentiates a company). We went through many ideas within a short period of time, and there were 2 - 3 small items that got missed (e.g. mulching of a certain location, etc.). He's got a great eye and favors native plants, which thrive in the native climate. He's really personable, great at bouncing ideas off of, and will give great advice. Extremely frustrating! When initially shopping around and trying to lawn service, Noe was very informative and responsive. However, after we agreed to having the lawn cut and edged every two weeks, Noe forgot every time and I had to call and email countless times - never receiving a response but eventually getting a surprise cut. This happened every time the lawn was supposed to get cut. The complete lack of communication and blatant disregard for the agreed upon timeframe is extremely unprofessional. read more

Written at 10am today: Avanza Landscaping - you were a no-show at my house this morning. I called and spoke with an associate, who was very understanding and pleasant, and told me that the service was mistakenly scheduled for yesterday - a sunday - which must have been a mistake because (per her) the folks that were required for the job do not work on Sundays. She told me to hang on and that someone would be in touch with me within an hour to reschedule. It has now been 2.5 hours and not only has no one called me, but no one is picking up your 1-888 line. Please call me as soon as possible to reconcile, as I would like to use your services. - George M (appointment was scheduled for 9am Monday). An update for everyone, 4:30pm EST the same day: I received a call from Avanza, who said they would come by at 4pm and would "make it up to me". It's now 4:30 and I have not heard anything from them, and each time I call them they do not pick up. I am a flexible person, especially on a holiday weekend, but this is just horrendous. If you have the experience I have had god give you the patience. This has been awful. read more

I had a major lawn disaster that was caused by Sweet Lawn Care company and Noe came to my rescue. I finally found a Landscaping company that is reliable, prompt, great customer service, and honest. I can totally count on these guys. They do a great job and guarantee their work. You don't have to worry about having to chase after them when something goes wrong. Excellent!!! Honest, extremely hard working and services are reasonably priced. I shopped around for a while before having tree work done and got a bunch of quotes. Other services attempted to up-sell me on what needed to be done or threw out high prices hoping I'd go for it. These guys took the time to study the landscape and discuss all the options with me. I ended up having them prune and limb a 60 foot Poplar tree, grind 2 large stumps and remove 2 sections of my yard covered in bushes and ivy totaling about 1400 sq ft. They did such great work on the tree and stumps my neighbor ended up using them as well. It's been about 5 weeks and it's safe to say that the ivy is gone for good. In their effort to remove roots, they wound up pulling out boulders and concrete slabs we didn't know were there but they were not phased. The next project will be grading and planting grass. I will follow up with another review when that is complete. Highly recommend. read more

It gives me no pleasure to write this review, as it is the first I've ever posted, and it is definitely negative. I preface all remarks by saying that the crew of this company is superb. It is the management, by Noe, that has been the cause of great disappointment. I am writing because I want to warn others against engaging this company. We paid well over a thousand dollars to have our yard cleaned, and on the basis of knowing someone on the crew, recommended that our neighbor hire them as well, which she did. The manager, Noe, spent an hour beforehand getting instructions from us about preferences. On the day of work, he did not show up with the crew, and consequently instructions were not followed. Plants and shrubs were trimmed incorrectly. Work was not completed. A large pile of mulch stayed on our street for weeks, finally cleared by neighbors. Weeding was not done well, there was no edging of beds or sidewalks, grass seed which was meant to fill in bare spots was put down over mulch, and three months later large bare spots remain. Huge weed growth was evident within a week. Because Noe asked for full payment before any work, we had no recourse afterwards. Worst of all, Noe will not return my calls. I trusted Noe. I was so wrong. Don't make the mistake we did. Avoid this company at all costs. As my also-burned neighbor says, "Not ready for prime time." read more

I called and spoke to Noe. We arranged for an estimate around when I was available. They came over and we went over the area that I wanted mulched. The very next day they showed up early ( around 8 am), and started getting the work done. When I got back in the afternoon everything was done and cleaned up. Avanza Landscaping is fantastic for several reasons: 1) Reliability -- the company is extremely responsive and attentive. During this terrible snow season, Noi (the owner of the company) was available at all times and communicated with us directly to setup appointments for snow removal. He was diligent and always followed through on his appointments. You can rely on this company to show up on time, quote you a reasonable price, and ensure you have been serviced appropriately 2) Quality -- with respect to snow removal, they do an impeccable job. They really clear every last bit of snow. We couldn't be happier with their service. They were so great this winter season that we are now trying to hire them to take care of all of our landscaping for our condo/apartment complex. 3) Affordable -- the company's services are reasonably price. Our apartment complex has significant sidewalk areas, parking space and porch space and the company charged us $100 for complete snow removal. If you need any type of snow removal services, I highly recommend this company. Once we start using them for landscaping, I am sure the customer service and performance will be just as stellar. read more
