I found Concrete Solution based on some people raving about their work from a facebook group. I had this company, as well as two others, come out to give me a quote for doing lots of work including a patio in my back yard, a new walkway, repairing damaged/sinking area in my driveway, a large pad for a fire pit, and a large pad for a future gazebo/shelter. Out of the three contractors, Concrete Solution seemed to stand out with their price as well as competency. Nerli, the owner, was a pleasure to work with right off the bat and welcomed the challenge of working for a home inspector. They did great work and overall I am very happy with how everything turned out. There were a few audibles along the way, which can be expected with any large project, but they handled them well. They also were very responsive to my requests whether it be from minor changes to asking them to wait a full 28 days for the concrete to cure before coming back to seal it (this is best but most homeowners want the project done fast and don't want to wait that long). Nerli and his team worked hard and did an excellent job - the colors turned out perfect, exactly what we wanted. The stamps look nice and the quality of the pour was great. I will definitely be using them again as needed and will be referring them to any of my friends/family/neighbors who want to get stamped concrete (or any concrete work for that matter) done. They delivered excellent craftsmanship and top notch design experience at a fair price. I initially hired Gerber to tune-up all my existing pavers, add a new paver driveway, and add some new path lighting. Adding the new driveway was somewhat of a challenge as the adjacent paver sidewalks were initially constructed over 10 years ago. So, Gerber was able to find a great match to my existing pavers and masterfully piece the new driveway together in such a fashion where old and new appear seamless. Amazing!!! During the process, we learned that his team also offered landscaping. So as the hardscaping and lighting was coming to an end, his team met with us for a design consultation. Both Kathy and Katherine brought some great experience/knowledge to assess our current situation and offered wonderful ideas to the overall design. We loved what we heard and proceeded with the landscaping work immediately. In the end, we could not be happier! This was my first engagement with Olive Branch Service LLC. My neighbor recommended them based on…read moretheir excellent concrete work on her parking pad. I bought a rowhouse with a 1 car garage and gravel parking pad. The garage had quite a bit of deferred maintenance over the decade or so since it was built. The roof leaked. There was cracked plastic siding, some wood rot to the underlying plywood, and rotting exterior trim. The concrete garage floor was badly cracked and poorly repaired, allowing water in during the winter that would froze on the garage floor. Olive Branch did an excellent job removing and replacing the roof with upgraded architectural shingles. They replaced rotten plywood and trim, installed a vapor barrier, then re-sided the garage with upgraded Hardiplank siding. The concrete floor was demoed, removed and hauled off, then the garage floor and gravel parking pad were replaced with high-strength cement. A new french drain along the garage door keeps the rain out. The estimate was clear, accurate, and reasonable. The service was spot-on. Work crews showed up on time and didn't leave a mess. Tim oversaw all the work and ensured the job went as planned. He made sure all those minor hiccups that happen in every job were resolved to my satisfaction. I'm very pleased with the outcome and will definitely use Olive Branch again for my next exterior project.

The paver walkway installation we received from NoVA Paving was done badly and will likely need to…read morebe replaced within a couple years. Unfortunately, this is the worst final product that we have experienced in our years of dealing with various home contractors. We hired NoVA Paving to replace our crumbling slate walkway with new pavers. We have undergone many home improvement projects over the years and have had mostly good experiences, but this was anything but. Instead of taking the proper time and effort to establish a deeper foundation, NoVA Paving used our existing, very shallow foundation. This left the pavers lifted from the adjacent driveway, sidewalk and grass. To keep it in place they placed slipshod concrete wherever it would have otherwise immediately crumbled. After the job, they told us that using the existing foundation "saved us money" and that we have no issue. As seen in pictures: * Multiple areas of pavers coming loose after the installation. * The entirety of some pavers are exposed with hollow spaces underneath. * Because they never established a proper foundation to even out the pavers with the sidewalk, they had to dump a slab of concrete where pavers should have been placed. The worst part was that they did not even tell us about the concrete until AFTER the job was completed. * Concrete securing the pavers in other areas has a terrible aesthetic. * We were charged $700 extra to haul away the old slate - which was not discussed beforehand or included in quote. When we told Mark about the problems, we got the run around for a month before they finally sent a foreman out to investigate. This was when we were told that there was nothing that could be done about the shallow foundation without a complete re-do of the entire job. We then asked for a partial refund and were told by Nova Paving to just take some dirt and put it up against the sides of the pavers, and that we did not have an issue.

My fault for not reviewing the warranty more carefully and making them remove base failure. But I warn anyone who does business with these guys that they are do not do high quality work, nor do they stand by their work. If you do decide to work with them, read their warranty very carefully. The warranty is filled with typos and contradictions; best to make sure you understand everything that is in the warranty if you decide to work with these guys, and don't let them put broad, non-descript exclusions in there such as "base failure". I posted some photos below of their shoddy work. This work was done less than 9 months ago. Even if you have to pay a bit more for another contractor, it is worth it based on my experience. Poor work and zero accountability - not a good combo!!

Several masonry companies had quoted me ridiculous prices and insisted that the veneer stone would have to be replaced. Mr. Avelar came out to quote the job and was positive that he could get off the efflorescence and would also repair the flagstone. He also quoted me less than half of what the other masonry companies quoted me. He did the job efficiently and in under two days. He removed the efflorescence completely, thereby avoiding the extra cost of replacing the veneer. I highly recommend Avellan Masonry LLC for any stonework that you require.
