I really wanted to support a local business for a family member's birthday, so I placed an order and paid extra to have the flowers delivered on Sunday, August 23. The order was confirmed, but I never received any communication about the arrangement, its status, or an estimated delivery time. I called several times throughout the day during the business's posted hours of 10 AM-3 PM, and no one answered. I also never received a call, message, or any type of follow-up. I spent a significant amount of money on the flowers and delivery fees, so I expected at minimum some communication regarding my order. It's extremely unfortunate to spend that much money with a local business and be left completely in the dark. I understand that things can happen, but the lack of communication and inability to reach anyone is very disappointing. I sincerely hope the business can improve its customer service and communication moving forward. read more

I picked the BubbleGum Bliss bouquet in a deluxe size and was initially nervous with how it would show up in real life - sometimes they end up being really small. I can confidently say that Ava's delivered on exactly what I ordered and size-wise was very fair and worth the price. Flowers did differ slightly from what was pictured, but I trusted that they would use the best of what they had fresh and available. They even added some butterfly and ribbon accents that I totally wasn't expecting but turned out great. My friend loved them! The card message was also printed beautifully without any errors and the delivery was prompt - a bit early in fact which was great. All in all - online ordering was quick and easy. Prices are very fair and quality of flowers was great. With just two hours to go before the first viewing, I learned of the passing of a co-worker's relative. We needed to get flowers there and going through the funeral home's online flower ordering service wouldn't have gotten them there in time for the first viewing, only the second. I did a quick map search and found Ava's Rainflorist was closest to the funeral home. Fingers crossed, I made the call. Karl answered, pleasantly, like he was happy to hear from me (sadly, a rarity in businesses these days, to sound pleased for the opportunity to get to assist someone). He took my number and actually called me back when he said he would, in a few minutes. He assured me he'd get the arrangement made, didn't charge me delivery since the funeral home was just up the block, and even texted me a picture of the flowers. ALL WITHIN 30 MINUTES. For any naysayers, I don't take this to mean for one second that they aren't busy, but rather that they know what it takes to provide excellent customer service and to guarantee future clients. We had been shopping around for florist for my moms leap year bday party and immediately when we stepped foot in Karls shop we felt the connection. We called and he waited for us to arrive even though it was after he closed. He went above and beyond to make the perfect arrangement for us. My sister has a good eye and Karl met all of her "demands" and made sure she liked what she saw. I went back and did a video with my sister to show her the sample and Karl was still able to meet her needs virtually! We always stayed in touch and he really put an extra touch to our display. Everyone absolutely loved the flowers. We only ordered 7 displays and yet Karl made us feel like the only customer. We felt special and I appreciated that he valued the importance of my mom to us. Let me add the party was in The Bronx, but my family is from Queens and I live in Harlem. I will always go back to Karl for all of my floral needs, he is now family to us. If you want flowers, go anywhere else. Not thrilled with how my order was treated. Story: It's my mother's birthday, so I bought a bouquet of flowers from these folks online. I was given the purchase order confirmation, but no confirmation tracking. Then the day of, there were never any updates or emails to confirm the order was going out. I called twice, one in the morning to get things moving. I was told that it would be going out in the afternoon. Then I called back at 5:50 pm and was told still waiting for their delivery truck to come back. The excuse, we are backlogged. So I asked for a confirmation to know where my order is and no one knew where. This place has no patience for anyone on the phone, the answer is they are always busy with too many deliveries and too much traffic. Manager called me back and apologized, but nothing changed. I ordered an arrangement to be delivered for a celebration on Tuesday. It did not arrive. When I called to check I was told it was being sent out on Friday. That was not their decision to make. I paid for Tuesday delivery. Karl, the owner, should be made aware that after being on the phone for 48 minutes trying to get resolution I was offered a call back instead of waiting online. Promised between 10:30 and 11- I assumed the day I called. It's 11:15. Maybe in three days. There are many other options for ordering flowers, consider anyone else. read more

My family ordered a bouquet for my grandfathers funeral to be done this morning at 9:00. When my sister went to pick up the order, it had never been placed. How could a florist forget to put together a bouquet for a funeral? The day is already hard enough. The staff there ended up throwing together a vase of roses within minutes since the funeral was this morning - and still charging my family the full cost. Unbelievable. What a terrible business. The Worse Florist in all the Bronx. It took me a while to write something about this business because the owner Karl is the most unprofessional Business owner I have ever encountered in all my years. My wedding was one of the best days of my life, everything seemed perfect, when walking down the aisle I noticed Karl forgot to put my runner down and when I asked him what happened to my runner he continued to tell me how it was the banquet managers fault at Beckwith pointe. When speaking to the Banquet manager he was very candid in saying how the owner of Ava's Rainflorest forgot to bring it and didn't care if it was put down or not, Karl Blatantly Lied to us. Moving on to walking into our reception, we had been back and forth to Ava's Rainforest a dozen times getting our center pieces correct and the way we wanted them for our special day and what happens the day of my wedding, I walk in to the room and our beautiful center pieces were nothing of what we arranged with Karl at Ava's Rainflorest, he stuffed the Vases that we did not pick out with him full of greenery, the vases were small when we picked tall grand Vases with beautiful flowers and feathers. After my wedding I had called Karl and asked why we didn't receive what we picked out and his answer was pretty much , what are you talking about, wasn't everything beautiful. At this point my blood is boiling with his cockiness. No Karl, it was beautiful, we picked out Tall Vases so people could see each other at our tables , instead I had people removing our centerpieces to the floor because Karl gave us what he wanted to give us, short vases that annoyed our guests and looked horrible on our tables, then the beautiful flowers we picked out were no where in site, he took us for a ride and I WILL NEVER USE THIS FLOREST AGAIN and since then I have had friends who have wanted to use him for weddings and parties and I'm happy to say I was able to show them video's and pictures of what I picked and what he ended up giving us, especially his smug text messages to me saying well your not getting a full refund back after he admittedly said in so many words It wasn't what I wanted but very similar to my order. Very far from the truth, it was nothing like what I ordered and every bride should have a beautiful white runner to walk down the aisle on. Please do yourself a favor, take it from me, do not do business with these people, they really cheated us out of a beautiful experience and as you know ladies, our centerpieces are one of the main attractions of our wedding. read more
