I liked the providers at the practice, but moved and established care elsewhere…read more From an admin standpoint, it seems they are going out of their way to make the patient experience difficult. The patient portal was changed a few years ago to something much less usable than the prior portal and now, medical records must be requested from an outside company that takes at least a week to provide records (if they are even provided then, friends have had difficulty with the company insisting records were sent when they were not, and the company has abysmal reviews online) that has no ability to track status of a request, and that doesn't have a phone number on its website (wake told me their was a number there, they couldn't find it either, then gave directions to go through a series of clicks on their own website to get the number, and then finally gave me the number). Had the portal not changed, I would have been able to easily download what I needed. Instead Wake made the decision to go to this new system and I cannot even walk into the office and get records - if I walk in and make a request, I'll have to fill out a form that goes to a third party company to get the records. I was looking at establishing care in Raleigh again but I won't be returning. The providers were good but apparently admin does not care how difficult they make the process of managing the non clinical side of being a patient.

The doctors seem fine, when you're actually able to make an appointment and get to them. Everything…read moreelse is a total disaster, from trying to reach someone on the phone (impossible) to trying to communicate via the patient portal. It seems that this practice is too big for its own good and/or too poorly managed to try to function at the scale they're trying to function at. I have felt blood-boiling anger and frustration on multiple occasions, simply because they are too lazy, incompetent, and/or understaffed to take care of basic tasks like answering the phone or calling in prescriptions in a timely fashion.

The Deets: I sometimes need quick clinic visits to update health credentialing items for work so I can visit customer sites, and this time was one of those events. My usual MinuteClinic near work was temporarily closed, so I found an available same day appointment at this MinuteClinic in Raleigh. The waiting area was clean and well kept, do note however that cell signal is weak there (I was told they are trying to work on that item). The check in kiosk is at the back of that area, be sure to check in so the practitioner knows you are there and ready. My initial visit went well except that the appointment before me ran over a few minutes (as can happen) but since I was trying to get it done during lunch, the situation did take a bit more time than anticipated. My practitioner, same on my initial and follow up visit, was absolutely great as well as positive, personable, efficient, and thorough...she handled everything wonderfully. Good experience here and I would visit here again if needed.

Best decision of 2016 easily. I was in a lot of pain from a sudden external thrombosed hemorrhoid but these guys knocked it out instantly. Setting the appointment was easy and the gentleman manning the front desk (Steve) was very nice and knowledgeable. He took some basic info from me over the phone, set the appt for the next day and then called later on that day to confirm. He also directed me the the website where I could print out the forms I would need to complete which I did before I arrived. This was convenient as I didn't have to sit there in pain filling out forms. When I arrived at the office, he met meat the desk, was very friendly and we shot the breeze while the doctor and nurse prepared to see me. Once in the exam room, the nurse who identified herself immediately as Cathy was very nice and helpful as well. She asked me some questions while reviewing my medical data sheet I had filled out previously. She was very kind and warm and inviting during the discussion. She took my blood pressure and prepared me to see the doctor. After Cathy left, I waited less than 3 minutes before the doctor (Dr. Kratz) came in and started asking questions about my situation. I'll spare you the details on the next part, but he immediately explained my options and I told him the treatment I wanted which was cut that sucker off! He told me exactly what he was going to do before he did it and was very gentle and pain free less a few pricks of the anesthetic. Once the procedure was complete, he gave me post-op instructions and sent me on my way. I was finally pain free after 4 days of life altering discomfort. I could not believe these guys and how good they were from start to finish. They immediately resolved my pain and did it with a professional and caring touch which is nice to see in today's medicine.

I am a 48 yr old woman who just woke up one morning with pain in my "hiney". I am not overweight,…read moreI'm not an old man, I'm currently not pregnant...so why in the world would I of all people have a hemorrhoid!? Well after calls to my mom and sisters...and my own "self examination", I saw it...that repulsive, evil little thing causing me so much pain! After 2 weeks of no relief, I called HD Treatment Center and they got me in right away. I was honored to have Dr. Chua as my doctor. The appt was not embarrassing, very professional and educational. She helped me understand how Hemi's (as my family began fondly referring to my new appendage) effect sooo many people, not just pregnant women, older folks and people with a few extra pounds. They can effect young teens even! Who knew!? The type of Hemi I had was external, so I unfortunately couldn't take advantage of their "signature" non-surgical procedure. Bummer. BUT, Dr. Chua did an amazing job doing things old school for me. The worst part was the numbing shot...but it wasn't any worse than a Novocain shot at the dentist. Of course, no one likes those either, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! Once I was numb, the surgery was over in 10-15 minutes! She did an amazing job removing all of the Hemi and even used her technique of removing a little extra tissue so that when you heal, there isn't extra skin (due to the stretching of the skin while the hemorrhoid exists) left. Like a skin tag, gross, who wants that!? Not that anyone ever sees that area...but just to know the "whole thing" is gone and outta there makes me happy! By the end, there was relief, hugs all around and NO pain! Woohoo! She sent me on my way to pick up my pain relievers for after the numbing wore off and I even got a sweet mug as a "parting gift". Once I got to my pharmacy, we realized there was a mistake on the RX and being it was for a narcotic, the pharmacist couldn't do anything about it and wanted me to drive all the way back to Raleigh (I live down in Fuquay-so a bit of a hike in the middle of rush hour) to retrieve the new RX! At this point my fantabulous numbing med was wearing off and I was getting a little uncomfortable. The LAST thing I wanted to do was get back in the car and drive all the way up there and back to pharmacy and then home. Well...what happened next was soooo above and beyond! The SWEET man at the front desk (I'm kicking myself for not getting his name, he's unforgettable though and you will love him the minute he greets you at the front desk). That sweet man DROVE MY NEW RX all the way, in rush hour, to my pharmacy so that my husband could then go back to the pharmacy and pick up the filled RX and I could go home and rest!!! WHO DOES THAT!?!? Amazing group of people! If you are considering HD Treatment Center to help you with your pain, suffering and "extra appendages"...go go go!!! Don't think about it another second and just call them. You will be sooo happy you did...I am!!!
