Dr. Gupta operated on my right eye cataract yesterday. Before surgery, my right eye had significant ghosting in my distance vision while driving, watching tv, and even walking. Objects and text appeared doubled or shadowed, though the image would become clearer if I tilted my head way back--probably caused by my old worn out lens distortion. As of this morning after surgery, the change is remarkable. Distance vision in my right eye is exceptionally clear, with no ghosting. Images and color are so much brighter, sharper, and tv skin tones are noticeably more defined. It is like taking off bown tint sunglasses. The improvement in in just one day is dramatic. The MyChart app makes it easy to manage appointments, communicate with my providers, review test results, and keep track of my healthcare. I am on Medicare with a Mutual of Omaha Supplement, and the system has worked very well for me. Dr. Falsone and the entire NC Heart and Vascular team have always been knowledgeable, professional, courteous, friendly, and genuinely caring. I see him for my annual cardiology checkups and have also undergone a stress test at this office. Every visit has been efficient and reassuring. What I appreciate most is the excellent coordination between Dr. Falsone, my cardiologist, and Dr. Williams, my primary care physician. Their communication and shared access to my medical records through UNC Health give me confidence that my care is well coordinated and that everyone is working together for my long-term health.

On my first appointment, while I was lying on the exam table, he was spent over 10 minutes in trying to make soap dispenser work, literally at the end trying to rip the cover off. After about 5 minutes again went to the machine fixed in the opposite corner of the room and fidgeted with it for another 10 minutes............. During which he was murmuring to himself about the mechanism of dispensing. You bet he charged all this time to me. He mentioned that he wants me to go thru a stress test and asked me to come next appointment for a stress test, he will not see me but stress test will be handled by his nurse. When I arrived his nurse had a probably 45 minutes interview with me and then informed me that the stress test will be given in the hospital not at the clinic, where as I got the clear understanding from Schocken that the nurse will conduct it on the premises of clinic. I would have not come to give my history again to a nurse, if he had not lied about the test. If you want to clarify his instructions by asking a question, he will raise his voice and rudely reply his previous instruction not even bothering to understand what your angle is. Avoid him unless you want to feel like a private in front of a General/Dictator and liar ripping appointment expenses out of patients.
